Sound

Does anyone know of any software or other method to rup sound from things? Such as an internet site or Snes Emulator?

I have a new phone and want to load some sounds on there like hearing the mushroom noise from Mario when I get a text. Any help?

A few things:

If you want sound effects from specific video games (without the background music) you can download the sound rip for that game, and appropriate player.

SNES Plugins: http://snesmusic.org/yellow.html
SNES Soundfiles: http://snesmusic.org/blue.html

NES Plugins: http://www.zophar.net/utilities/nsf.html
NES sounds: http://www.zophar.net/nsf/

Most of these should contain all the music and all the sound effects from the games they have (and yeah, you can use the same recording method below to just grab it right from an emulator, but it might not turn out as well.)

You're going to have to work side by side with Audacity to do this properly. Since your phone obviously won't support .nsf files, you'll need to record it in Audacity while it's playing, and save it as a wave. You could do this in regular MS sound recorder, but then you can't edit/trim the wave file.

So yeah, make sure your Recording Properties are set to record to Wave/Wave Out/"What U Hear" whatever your soundcard calls it, then go at it! You can also use Audacity to record directly from websites/podcasts/streaming media etc. if you record while it's playing, but it takes some practice. You need to have your volume levels and such set properly
