tv

k so there's some sales on now and I want to get an LCD HDTV. What kind do you guys have, do you like it etc. I don't really want to spend over $1000 so I'm looking at 32"-37". The future shop guy was saying the LG and Samsung brands are good (lol?), Toshiba lower end. I was looking at a Sony 32" 1366x768 ($799) , a Samsung (I think it was the same, same price too). Then there's a Sharp 37" for $999 and the same thing except with 1080p plus it's $1299. How huge of a difference does that make?

So, suggestions please!

Mine is a 26" HDTV by ONN that I got for

Posted by Vampnagel P. Wingpire

26" is too small. :( Can't be less than 32"!

That's what she said!
what size is your tv right now?
ahahahahahahahahgaha

lol

mine's only 20". :(

Depends! If you're really serious about games (lol, right?), you should stick with a higher-end CRT because of the near instant response time. If you're gonna get a LCD, make sure that it has an 8ms or less response time, or else it'll feel like you're ice-skating everywhere. Really, for sure. Meow.

Size doesn't really matter. To me at least... as long as it's 20"+ I'm fine.

The Sony one has 8ms...is it gonna be really noticeable? The Dynamic Contrast Ratio is 2000:1.

I didn't even look at the CRTs. Guess I should.

Posted by cool gamer dad

It'll take you a few days to get used to the 8ms, but it's worth it. But yeah, remember. Nothing higher than that!

And personally I'd bite the bullet and go HD. CRT tvs are nice for their price, but they really don't compare to LCD. But yeah, the response time is sharp.

Seeing a kid do the hardest song on DDR on the hardest setting on one of those TVs while it was flickering constANTly is to date the most hardcore instance of gaming I've ever seen in person.

Posted by Vampnagel P. Wingpire

I kinda used to have one like that.

Posted by Vampnagel P. Wingpire

k so I got the 32" Samsung BUT they didn't have any in stock after I had already decided, so hopefully it'll be in next week. Still gotta get a stand, though.
