Wrex sucks. Mainly because he's only useful for all the classes I don't want to be.
When I played a bit I was a soldier with Tali, Liara and Kaiden. When I get the game myself I'll probably be an adept or something with Ashley, Garrus and Tali. I was leaning towards a Vanguard, but idk, after trying it out I don't think a combination class is the greatest idea.
I figure an Adept with AR, or a Soldier with Barrier will let me breeze through pretty awwight.
I'm a Soldier with Tali and Liara. Pretty smooth sailing so far, except the section where you fight the walker on foot while trying to get Liara. **** that was annoying, especially considering I had to watch the intro cutscene for that fight upwards of five times.
Indeed. The fact that they put the cutscene after the checkpoint is really dumb. I can't stand games like that. But apparently the first part of the game is always the most difficult no matter the class. They're supposed to be pretty balanced, though when I started on my friend's account he did it so his soldier would start with barrier. Basically making him unstoppable on everything that's not Insane.
Yeah, I can already feel my character getting pretty powerful. Only woe is that I got an Avenger IV rifle early on by sheer chance, died soon after, then when I reloaded, my last save was before the Avenger IV drop, which was totally random. *******it.
Much like Oblivion, I'm just going to save after every good piece of loot I get.
So, I ****ed Liara. I was all like 'awww now I won't get to have some Ashley love :(' but then I done some more dialogue with her, and it turned out she was a psycho racist *****. owch.

And it had something a lot of good games don't have anymore - a good finale. *******, I was ****ting my pants towards the end. spoilers: [spoiler]being able to convince the final boss to become an hero rather than fighting him? awesome. using a mass relay to fire your little moon buggy through space? awesome. being allowed to let the council die, but getting paragon points for it? awesome. the arbiter punching the ambassador in the face? awesome.

New character. If you did a soldier, go through with an adept and equip your achievements (like AR for example.) After that go through with Engineer and equip achievements from adept and soldier.
I'll do both. Game+ to get the Power Gamer and Insanity/Hardcore achievements, and new characters to get the engineer and adept ones.
Yeah, that's what I'll be doing. I'll play the other classes first though, cause I don't want to play the same character twice in a row.

idk, outright shooting someone when you get bored of the conversation is pretty evil. But it makes sense though, you're a good guy saving the galaxy. Wouldn't make much sense storywise if you could just walk into any bar and wipe out everyone.

First playthrough, where I played the main quest and a few other plots on normal difficulty, took about 13 hours. With this file I'm trying to get the achievement for doing almost every subquest, and it's in the mid-20 hours. If you're gonna rent it, one playthrough will get you about 400G.
... Next, I'm gonna do it all again as a level 42 soldier with the very best weaponry and armor that one of the achievements unlocks. oh jeez

I hope so. I remember playing Chaos Theory co-op with my brother, and we always ended up fighting when one of us tripped an alarm. That was back when we had a tiny TV and had to play splitscreen, though.
It's nothing like CT. You don't play a Sam Fisher-esque spy. Rather, you're incredibly nimble, quick and agile and there's no alarms or the like to be tripped. You just have to hack terminals while evading mercenaries (which have really good AI actually.)
It's like, whereas Sam is a bear, these spies are more like spiders.

Oh, that's cool then. Pretty lucky with the 3v3. So what can the Mercs do that means they're evenly matched with us?
They're crazy powerful to begin with. Their Assault Rifle takes out a spy pretty quick if he doesn't have health packs on him and they have a grenade launcher with three grenades which do a ton of damage. On top of that their visors will outline the spies in white so they can see them easier. They can also charge a spy, essentially body slamming the spy to the ground, where you can then pick the spy up and headbutt him to death. They also have a sort of "radar" that lets you know when a spy is close (the closer the faster you hear a beeping sound) and if the spy is too close you can do a melee which will knock the spy down so you can then kill him.
So yeah, the mercs are crazy powerful, but the spies are quicker and more athletic, so they can just run away and slide into narrow spaces or jump out a window. Though, the mercs have these flying robots they can control to go into said spaces and detonate them near the spy.
This is gonna be funnnnn. I'm actually looking forward to it.
