Backlot does kinda suck, but not as much as countdown. What a piece of ****.
Countdown's OK if you find a decent strategy. It's best just to use a sniper and get on top one of the trucks. If I'm stuck on that map that's why I do and rarely does anyone notice me. That, or just hide under a truck or behind the bleachers. Either way, that map is only playable if you camp. Otherwise, no fun.
Shame it's based on one of the awesome parts of campaign... :(

Assassin's kinda sucks. It's fun but also pretty horribly disappointing. I hear Mass Effect is pretty disappointing too.
I'm enjoying Assassin's so far. Running around on rooftops is pretty exciting, especially if you're being chased.
So far? How far into are you? My buddy and I just finished it last night and it only starts getting interesting storywise halfway through. But by that point you're ****ing bored with the game mechanics. It's sooo repetitive and so frustratingly stupid in some parts. I mean, the AI is laughably dumb, the praying thing completely breaks the game and sitting down on a ****ing bench protects you from just about everything. It's a good game, just a far cry from great.
Seriously, they should've just had half the game be Assassin's and the other half focus on the future. **** ending.

I'm totally renting Assassin's soon-ish. HOW ARE THE ACHIEVEMENTS
I've assassinated three of the nine targets, and I still love it. Though I spend more time exploring and doing free missions than I do on the main plot. Achievements are split 50/25/25 between plot/collectan/grindan. You can get about 500G from playing the main questline along with another 100G during it if you're good at combat. The rest are 'Kill X amount of guards X way' or 'Collect all the flags in area X'.

I'm about a third of the way through after one day's solid play of about six hours - I done all the investigations before each assassination, and I've found all the Eagle points in the overworld and the Assassin village, along with some of the flags and other trinkets.
I wish they hadn't tried to go with a dual PRESENT/PAST plot. ****, the parts where I have to step off the Animus to play a bastardized point-and-click adventure game take me out of the setting so bad.
