Oh wow. If you haven't picked this up yet, do so. Worth every penny.
Still haven't got my copy back, but I hear they fixed the acog scope. I am a happy man.
Just go and get it. Did your rank transfer over from the beta?
It definitely gets reset. Which is a shame, because I hit the level cap and had my rifle and perks just the way I liked them...
Huh, thought I heard somewhere that they weren't getting reset. Oh well. Yeah, custom class options are super.
I guess we'll find out on Friday or whenever Vamp rescues his copy.
HAVE YOU FOUGHT ANY DOGS YET ANGELWING
Can't even believe that guy.
Nah, I haven't even started campaign yet. Been gaying it up in multiplayer.
Ranks don't transfer. There's no reason for them to. I played about 40 minutes worth and hit level 10 then stopped. You can hit fifty in, oh, about a week. Assuming you play TD only and get no challenges and exclude post-game points, you only need 12,000 kills which isn't too much. I think right now I'm averaging about 35 per match so I'd only need to play roughly 300 matches (in reality a ton less.) But yeah, you'll get back up to your rank in about ten to fifteen matches.
Also, I'd suggest starting with the single-player first since it's outright amazing. You won't regret it.
Oh, and I had to ****ing run headlong into a dog just to get the achievement. I'd either get saved last minute by a comrade or they'd just shoot it before it could even get near. During the flashback mission though you'll come upon a dog who's feasting on a corpse. Just get close enough for it to attack and mash the melee button, bam. Though you'll then have twenty more dogs after you and the last leg of the mission will be slightly more difficult. So reload after you get it. Protip.
Alright this is the first Call of Duty game to really catch eye. I have not played any of the others in the series but this game is getting great reviews and people are saying great things about the storyline, even though it may be short, and how the multi-player is really good.
My question to you is. Could i buy this game before renting it not ever playing any of the previous installments and enjoy the game all around and make it worth my money? Multi-player is key for me so maybe someone could let me know how fun/good/much replay value there is in it.
The reason i ask and not just be safe and rent the game is because these days you cant rent a freaking game without losing 10 bucks thats just a ridiculous amount of money to spend on a rental in my eyes.
It should be in the mail soon for me.
Just buy it, unless you're only interested in single player. Then definitely rent it. Doesn't require any prior COD knowledge at all to appreciate. The series has just jumped forward sixty years.
ninja'd.
That sounds great to me. Especially the jumping sixty year thing.
I am going to have to pick it up next Wednesday when i get my check to make sure i got enough money for it. And i am going to take my old copy gears of war that has been messed up twice back to gameXchange have it resurfaced and get some in store trade-in credit on that (at gamestop). the game works but it seemed to find a way to brake my 360 twice. and i really wont feel bad knowing someone may buy it, maybe thats mean but it saves me money. plus they would have 30 days to take it back and the Microsoft support line is a push over. If anyone ever needs help getting there 360 fixed for free, because they don't have a warranty and its something other than red-lights ask me what to do i got out of paying 180 bucks, by basically implying that there company is at fault and cant make good products. The last phone call was a trip. Hahahaha i really hope they did record that one, they might use it at there next employee meeting.
Multiplayer is all I've been playing so far so yeah, high replay value. If you're looking for an AMAZING online fps then this is it.
Multiplayer is tiiiight. Not that much different from the beta - most of the changes between v1.0 and the beta seem to be cosmetic, rather than gameplay-based. You've got way more maps and modes than even Halo or Rainbow Six can offer.
Bunch of changes actually. M21 and M4 were toned way down, AK was beefed up with recoil reduced, helo is a lot less effective, shotgun range was reduced, pistol power was slightly increased, etc.
Oh, and I never realised how much sixty frames matters. I went back to Halo 3 right after and it actually looks like I was having framerate problems even though the connection was perfect. Took a good five matches for my eyes to adjust.
Just canceled my online order and went to Toys R Us to buy this... brb.
oh my ***. i need this game now not later!!!!
M16 still pwns. That makes me happy.
oh my ***. this game is ****ing fun as hell
M16 + ACOG scope = Battle Rifle
Plus there are no overshields. Ownage.
haha, yeah. I love that
Wait, which one is the M14? My M4A1 with red dot is pretty tight. I've picked up a couple of rifles with ACOG scopes, and I don't like how they block out some of your peripheral vision. :(
Yeah, you have to give up a lot of your vision for a very slight magnification. Not worth it at all.
And the M14 is a single-shot gun you unlock in the mid-forties. Think the M21 rifle with a red-dot sight. It's really annoying to use at first because the iron-sights are probably the worst in the game, but once you unlock the red-dot you're good. Much better than the ****ty G3 you get earlier on.
If I ever reach the 40s, I'll check it out. I've only played enough to get to level 14 so far.
I got to 40 in around 13 hours. Doesn't take that long.
My favorite of the CoD as of yet.
Yeah, the G3 is pretty ****ty, and ACOG scopes aren't much better. I've been mainly using the AK since I haven't had much time to rank up.
Mp5s and Uzis.
I've used the M4 a bunch, but mainly the AK. I love them both, but I think I prefer the AK. One doesn't seem overly better than the other, I find.
M4's is a ton better in my opinion. Just slap stopping power on there and it's like the AK with no recoil.
Of course the M4 is better than the AK?
I still prefer the M16 over the M4. Long range I almost always win, but close range can be a bit of a problem.
I don't like the M16 for some reason. It's fun to use with double-tap but I find the gun boring even though it's technically better than the M4. If it came down to it I'd pick the M14 over anything followed by the G36, in terms of ARs anyways.
I hear the M14 is pretty much the M1 Garand from CoD3.
Kinda. The best comparison is the M21 with a red-dot. It looks, sounds and feels similar, but a lot more accurate in close-quarters.
The MP5 is brilliant on maps that don't have a lot of long range encounters. Probably my favourite, second to the M4A1.
For SMG's I use the AK-74u (which is actually a rifle btw) with double tap. It's been very effective thus far.
AK-74u sucks. Don't think I've tried the MP5 yet.
Huh? AK-74u works just fine for me, as long as double tap is on. At close range it kills instantly.
I don't have double tap yet. Doubt that will make it a good gun, though.
Double Tap makes the gun unbelievably inaccurate over a range which sucks in more than a few situations. It's easier just to use the MP5 which is awesome up-close and from a distance.
I only use SMG's on vacant anyway, and I usually just camp inside the building. Other than that I stick with the M16 for the most part.
The MP5 is good for most maps I've noticed. Crossfire, Backlot, Ambush, Vacant, Crash, Wet Works, District, Strike, Showdown, etc etc. Just gotta alter your tactics and it usually works out for the best anyways. Then again, just about any weapon is good for any map I've noticed. SO IDK
Yeah, all the same-class weapons aren't really all that different. Not to mention you can still pull a kill off, even with the crapiest weapon.
M16, M14 and G36C are all quite a bit different. Even the G36 and M4 feel different enough. Same with the P90 and MP5. Plus, certain guns are better with certain perks. Like, the M16 is great with double tap, but the G36 isn't. And the same could be said of the P90 and the rest of the SMGs. So sometimes you just don't get the chance to switch everything out in time.
Also, Veteran is easy so far. I haven't made it to One Shot, One Kill yet, but I just started War Pig. So far I haven't died much and if I did it's because I had five grenades all land right around me so I couldn't run anywhere.
But I managed to find all the intels. Slow-Mo is awesome.
Yeah, I haven't had any trouble with Veteran yet. Not looking forward to Heat, though...
As for guns - the MP5 is lethal on Downpour. So much cover that there's hardly any long range fighting, and you can shoot from the hip almost the entire time.
I love downpour. It's a good example of every gun works. A buddy of mine can get 50-3 with his sniper rifle no problem.
Also, you know how you can't play multi-matches lately? It'll say the lobby closed or you were kicked? OOPS, you're profile's corrupted on IW's end. If they can't fix it, guess what? All profiles are getting wiped. Forced prestige **** yeah!
Seriously? That sucks ***, and I'm only level 16...
Apparently. 402 posted on their forums about how its a possibility. But I just booted it up and played a game fine, so I'm not sure what's happening. I just figured it was due to the XLA issues but it's not according to him.
Sometimes I can play a game fine, but once in awhile it ****s up. I'm only something like rank 29 but you'd think they'd be able to find a way to fix the server problem without wiping everyone's info. Hopefully.
Microsoft also had better fix the dashboard issue. It's ****ing me off.
Yeah, Downpour is awesome. And Overgrown. That shipyard map is also pretty fun.
Yeah, what do the intels look like?
laptops. The first few are right in front of you, but the rest are hidden in rooms you never have to venture into and a couple others are triggered through a script (like One Shot, One Kill.)
My dashboard froze up while I was trying to play COD4 during the server issues, but that's about it...
Is there a comprehensive list of intel locations? I have 12, but I can't be assed trawling through every level a third time to pick them up.
1 - Prologue Crew Expendable - After wasting the bridge crew, follow the team
down into the ship. Investigate the bunkroom where the drunk terrorist
stumbles out of. Two sleeping terrorists should be inside.
2 - Prologue Crew Expendable - The team will use a flash bang in the cargo
hold (if you run ahead, the enemies will fire and the team will simply skip
the flashbang and fire back). At the bottom of the stairs in that hold (the
stairs are right next to the hold's entrance) is the intel. It is out in the
open and hard to miss if you're looking for cheap AMD laptops.
3 - Act I Black Out - At the start of the mission, there is a shack to your
left with two terrorists. Check the shack's interior for the intel. Just a
moment before, your team should be given the "weapons free" order.
4 - Act I Black Out - In the building where the informant is (you need to use
night vision since the team cuts power to the house lights), check the
bathroom on the second floor.
5 - Act I Charlie Don't Surf - In the basement of the first objective
building, head down to the basement. Check the small room in the basement
corner (marked with a Kalashnikov silhouette) for the intel.
6 - Act I Charlie Don't Surf - After clearing the first building (the
terrorist training building) and getting orders to retake the TV station,
there will be some intense house-to-house fighting. Place the TV station
marker so it serves as "map-north". There is a wide street in front of the
station; before crossing it completely, head "map-east" (along the main road)
and take out a terrorist sniping post. The intel you want is on the second
floor of that sniping post.
As read on IGN!
7 - Act I Charlie Don't Surf - After crossing the heavily guarded main road
towards the TV station, there is a building next to the pick-up truck with the
mounted machinegun; head up the stairs of that building and check its second
level for the intel.
8 - Act I The Bog - After evading the machineguns and entering the apartment
complex, you head up to the second floor. Clear the area of enemies and look
for a silhouette of a Kalashnikov with two crossed sickles. Allied NPCs should
breach the door for you so you can enter it. If you missed which door was
breached, the room in question has a checkboard floor. The intel is in there.
Note, if you leave for the next block to rescue the tank, you have gone too
far ahead.
9 - Act I The Bog - After using the Javelin to destroy enemy vehicles, you
proceed into a street market composed of narrow streets. From the broken
fence, you make two lefts to a central market that has an upright
refrigerator; turn around from the fridge and march straight back towards a
wall. The intel is behind a stack of boxes.
10 - Act I The Hunted - After the enemy chopper detects and springs an ambush
on the team, you go into a house that will get flashbanged and rushed by
enemies. Once you survive that ordeal and leave the house, you will be in the
middle of some farm buildings; look for a dwelling with a Russian soda machine
next to its entrance. The intel is inside that building. Note you should get
the intel before you encounter any attack dogs, unless you just like killing
small beasts and yukking it up with your buddies later.
As read on IGN!
11 - Act I The Hunted - After going through both greenhouses, there is a wreck
of a building to your left (when you exit the second greenhouse). Work your
way into that building and then go to the small section covered by a sheet
metal roof; the intel is in there. If you reach the barn to fight off the
enemy chopper with Stingers, you went too far ahead.
12 - Act I War Pig - After your friendly tank runs over the car, check the
multi-level building on the inner corner (it will be on your right side if the
objective marker serves as map-north). The staircase is in a multi-use
building (commerical on the bottom, residential on the top). Check the second
floor of the building for the intel.
13 - Act I War Pig - Check the multi-level building on the outer corner --
basically across the street from the previous intel. This building's staircase
is in a dry-cleaning store. Again, it's on the second story.
14 - Act I War Pig - Right before the enemy T-72, you have to storm a building
with a machinegun nest. This nest overlooks a short alley filled with civilian
cars. Investigate the second story of the "machinegun nest" building for the
intel.
15 - Act I Shock and Awe - Once you rendezvous with the advance recon team,
check the corners of the room they were holed up in. The intel should be on
the second level of their building.
As read on IGN!
16 - Act I Shock and Awe - After jumping down from the building where the
advance recon team was holed up in, check the building directly straight
ahead. Like previous intels, check the second story of that building. It's in
a closet if you're honestly lost.
17 - Act II Safehouse - After clearing the forest (which takes all the five
seconds of your life), check the first building you see -- it's next to the
church and has a satellite dish attached to it. As before, check the second
level of the house for the intel.
18 - Act II Safehouse - Check the building next to the water tower. It is in
one of the restaurant booths on the first floor.
19 - Act II All Gillied Up - Atop the ladder in the church. Let the allied
sniper take the lead so he can open the door for you. Otherwise, there's no
way in. Get the intel quickly before the chopper appears, or you may not be
able to get to it later.
20 - Act II All Gillied Up - Mid-way through the container maze, a makeshift
camp full of terrorists will have intel on a table made from 55 gallon drums.
If you want the intel, you may have to kill the enemies if you are not able to
sneak by them. Note if you enter the next area and start sneaking under the
trucks, you may not be able to go back and grab this intel.
As read on IGN!
21 - Act II All Gillied Up - After sneaking under the trucks, you come to a
building with an enemy sniper on a fire escape. Brain (headshot) the sniper
and check the top of the fire escape for a small room with the intel.
22 - Act II One Shot, One Kill - After downing the enemy chopper, you need to
carry your allied NPC to the extraction point. During this sequence, you will
enter a building to attempt to lose your pursuers. Fight off the terrorists
and attack dogs inside. Once you leave that building, locate the gray fire
escape on that building and grab the intel at the top. You need to hurry back
down before the timer (or your ally) expires.
23 - Act II One Shot, One Kill - Carry the allied NPC "McMillian" to the
Pripyat ferris wheel but do not place him on the highlighted spot on the hill
yet; you need to scout around this area so you know where to go once enemies
appear and general mayhem occurs. Put the ferris wheel behind your character
and look for a side street towards the southeast (use your HUD compass). There
should be a non-descript (closed) door to a sad looking Communist Russian
apartment building. This door will open later during the firefight (enemies
are spawned from there). Place the allied NPC at the spot on the hill and
prepare for hordes of enemies. Once enemy choppers appear to fast-rope troops,
the aforementioned door will be open. Head into that room now and grab the
intel on the floor. If you are having difficulty grabbing this intel, you can
always stage select and use the easiest (Recruit) difficulty to survive the
enemy onslaught.
24 - Act II Sins of the Father - After securing the diner, you will enter a
Russian diner. Immediately check the tables to your left (upon entering) to
grab the intel. Once the screen fades for "uniform change", you cannot get
this intel.
25 - Act II Sins of the Father - After the target flees into a Russian village,
the team stays behind to do rear guard while you pursue the target
into a side alley. Your chase leads to an area which is covered by several
snipers and many terrorists on the ground. A red dumpster and a green car
signifies where you can go left (suicide) or right (flanking route). Take a
right at that fork and look for a side staircase leading up to a house room. A
few terrorists will be in there (it is a kitchen of sorts). The intel is on
the table. Grab it quickly and continue your pursuit.
26 - Act III Ultimatum - After destroying the power tower, your team will
infiltrate a Russian base. Pass through the breach in the wall and follow the
allied NPCs through the motor pool. Across the base's courtyard, there is a
large room where a majority of the enemies will come from (it's basically
their spawn point). Fight into it and turn right. The intel is in a small
partition to the side.
27 - Act III All In - After destroying the first enemy BMP but before going
past the silo's gate, check the alleyway behind the building to the gate's
right. The intel is at the end of the alley by some weapons.
28 - Act III All In - Once inside the silo base, there are three missile tanks
(not BMPs - those are your targets) parked in the base. Align your map with
compass (true) north and use your main HUD compass to identify the
southernmost missile tank. South of that missile tank, there are three
buildings on your map (when you pause and check your mini-map). Investigate
the center southern building (it will be an army warehouse) for intel just
lying on the floor. Quickly grab it and get out of there before the enemy
choppers shred everything.
29 - Act III No Fighting in the War Room - Follow the ally NPC "Price" and
drop into the locker/shower/bathroom facilities. Exit that area and you find
you can take the left or right; take the left route so you come across a
darkened meeting room when the hallway starts to angle (the right goes to the
base's kitchen and is a longer way around). The intel is inside the dark
meeting room (left route).
30 - Act III No Fighting in the War Room - Once you breach the wall to get
into the launch control room, go straight ahead, up the stairs to your left,
and look for a small meeting room that has the intel on a table within. Time
should be tight, but a checkpoint occurs just before blowing the wall, giving
you (technically) infinite chances to re-attempt your search. Note you can
probably abort the launch and then grab the intel, if time is really tight.
I don't have the original page anymore since I grabbed it from a message board, but that gets you where you need to be if you keep your eyes open.
I LOVE YOU
Oh, for 23, go over to the left side where all the enemies spawn from. That'll stop them from spawning over there and force them to spawn in the right-side door. You need to do this because sometimes the door won't open, no matter how long you wait or how far away you are from it. It's just easier to force them to spawn since it wouldn't open for me no matter what,
Yeah, dashboard was freezing up the last few days, but it seemed alright yesterday.
Wow, a lot of good stuff coming in the update!
From FourZeroTwo, the community leader:
XBOX 360 UPDATE

Fixed Playlist error when attempting to join from other games
Handle Corrupt Create A Class data instead of kicking player"
Finally fixing performance for big team matches. I don't usually like playing them but when I do, I encounter slow-mo instances.
Fantastic, I hope they do this soon.
Oldschool is even better now? Kickass.
BTB sucks, always will.
Yeah, but at least there's the option of playing it properly now if you really want to.
Which I don't. Just like Halo, CoD doesn't play well with large teams.
CoD4's only a slight step up from a tactical shooter, and none of the maps are huge expanses. When you have 9-a-sides, you end up being shot and shooting due to pure luck.
BTB is all about finding the best spot to camp. It's pretty dumb.
I like Counter Strike.
**** still sucks.
Also, I've taken to using a silenced M14 with UAV Jammer and 3x Stun. Man, how beastly of a set-up can you get? It's literally impossible to die and you rack up an insane number of kills. Love it.
That would be a great set-up for camping, but it doesn't seem very practical if you plan on moving around the level.
It's incredibly practical. Just avoid the mass of enemies and sneak around. Before they know what happened everyone's dead. Then run like hell to a new location and repeat.
This game is actually, to my suprise, very fun, indeed.
At the gaming center I work at I played it on the 360; however, I enjoy it way more on my PC at home. To me, it is more of a PC game than a console game, and that goes for most FPSs.
Using a mouse to aim a gun feels wrong to me.
AW YEAH. 1000gs in CoD4. I beat Game Over and didn't get anything and I was like "****, it's glitched" but it turns out I didn't do that one part where you get shot as the president. I was worried for a second.
Also, War Room was a lot easier than I expected it to be. I made it to every checkpoint with a full minute to spar.
I remember at the end I shot the one-armed dude right in the crotch. Almost as funny as when I beat Big Smoke to death with a dildo in San Andreas.
Try it with the MP5 or if you've got it, the P90 since the M14 iron-sights are ***awful. That load-out with a P90 makes you feel unstoppable if you play it right.
Yeah, don't have the P90 yet. Soon...K, I'll do it with the MP5.
The P90 is fearsome, but you need to time your reloads well. Not usually a problem in small-team matches, though.
It reloads fast enough to not really worry about it. Though what's fun is just running around with bandolier, slight of hand and steady aim. Clears out a room right quick.
I found out what you unlock in prestige mode. A gold-plated weapon for each level you complete. I guess I'm gonna do prestige, just so I can say I did it.
Also, I just unlocked the MP44. Despite the fact that its stats suck, and it has no attachments, it's still a beast.
About the keyboard and mouse, it's all about preference, honestly. I can't play FPS with a controller. Just the movement is so odd to me.
However, as I said in the other thread, I do wish they would integrate cross-platform more often.
edit: However, I do enjoy Halo 3 and CoD3 on the Xbox.
enjoy
CoD3 on the Xbox.
does not compute
Source?
Source on what? It's a fact, dude. You have to complete each challenge in a each gun category to unlock a gold weapon. There's one per each category like the Dragonuv, M60, Autoshotty, etc.
NO FIGHTING IN THE WAR ROOM WHY MUST YOU BE SO AHRJHGGHGTRGRH
If I take my time, I don't make the time checkpoints. If I rush, random soldiers spawn behind me. ighjkdghrbnrrrrrrr
It's funny because I barely died lol.
Keep in mind, dude. You have 11 rifle grenades, 4 hand grenades and 4 flashbangs. Use them. When you get to the box room where you can go down the middle, left or right, take left, pick up an autoshotty and just keep blasting down the cracks. The silo section is a pain, but easy. Kill the two/four guys you see, run all the way to the barricade kill all the guys on the other side, flash left silo then shoot a grenade down there, reload another, shoot it down right and go that way. Then kill the guy that comes through, flash the hall, toss a grenade in, shoot a grenade at the missile, slowly look around the corner and pick off anyone that survived, flash the next hall and kill the two guys that come out, flash the hall again, throw a grenade, shoot a grenade and kill of the guys remaining by only slightly looking around the corner.
Going prone really helps when you're peaking around the corners because often you'll catch the edge of a badguys head sticking out but he doesn't quite see you yet.
Uhhh, I accidentally left my M4A1 behind in the last mission. So no grenade launcher. I'm pretty early in, and the first section before the stairs was easy, so I might restart...
I'm on the box room btw. It's alright, but once I reach the end of the left flank, I keep dying from multiple directions.
There should be Grenadier AKs laying around, but yeah, you might as well go back. In fact, go back to All In and pick up the Autoshotty in the right-most container since you can't get one until the silos on War Room.
When you get to the last part of the box room, just go prone where only your crosshairs are poking out. You right-side will be clear because you just killed everyone, no one will be behind you, and there's only going to be people directly across from you. Pick off all the easy targets and let your allies move up and clear out everyone. You allies will rarely be ahead of you, but they'll take out anyone on their way to your position, use that to your advantage. They're an excellent distraction. Just remember to get to the small stairs by 5:00 otherwise you won't get a checkpoint. It shouldn't be all that bad though, I made it at 5:55 and you want that extra minute since you got the silos next and you need to make it to the slow doors by 3:00.
Well, I have the autoshotty, but a G3 instead of an M4. DECISIONS DECISIONS
G3's a good choice until you get to the silos. I ended up not using any flashes or rifle nades on my final run but they're incredibly handy and let you get through it much easier.
In fact, here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Ic9wzAHL_rM
This is nearly identical to my run except I made it with two minutes to spar.
Hmmm... Seems I'm rushing it too much. This dude left the box room with 5 or so minutes remaining, whereas I was trying to get out with about 6 or 7 still on the clock.
Today I did Sins of our Fathers, Ultimatum, All in and the TV one. Got the TVs and on 11 intel.
Jesus, 7? No way, dude. Take as long as you possibly can while still hitting checkpoints. Take each corner slowly and if you're red wait it out. Only reason I did it quicker than this guy is because I went left in the box room and just spammed the autoshotty. Otherwise I went as slowly as him.
Think I'm gonna restart, since I overestimated the timer. Wasted a lot of flashes on the first few rooms so I could get through without fighting. WONT MAKE THAT MISTAKE AGAIN.
Plus, I think the grenade launcher could prove useful.
I was doing the box room from the right instead of left, and it always worked brilliantly because you only have to kill like 3 enemies.
Kept getting done in right at the end.
I believe you get flashes periodically throughout. I used two before I hit the silos and ended up with 4 by the time I got there. But yeah, the only mission you want to rush in and avoid fighting is Mile High. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT ONE lol. only mission that gave me any trouble.
I just bought CoD4 today, I guess I have to play some single player before I start in the online play, so I have some form of advantage, right?
Only play single-player because single-player is fun. it won't give you an advantage at all
I don't do single-player, so it looks like I'm going straight to multiplayer, once I get some sleep.
this game is great.
I absolutely LOVED Call of Duty 2 when it was first released on the 360.
I was disappointed with Call of Duty 3.
But this game has all the greatness on CoD2 plus some awesomeness.
I love it. :D
m16 is the weapon of choice.
I thought Call of Duty 3 was decent. But I never played Call of Duty 2...
It was actually horrendously bad compared to past IW CoD games.
The only problem I had with Call of Duty 3 was the leveling system. I hit level 19 in a few days, and never went up or down for months. It really ****ed me off.
CoD4 would probably have been CoD3. All the interviews I've read say they were designing Modern Warfare almost as soon as CoD2 was released.
Yeah, pretty much. But thank *** for CoD3 in a way, it let them take all the time they needed to perfect 4.
There were also those crappy cash-ins, like Big Red One and United Offensive. BRO did let you drive an old-school civilian car, though.
UO was actually pretty OK. But those didn't really have much of an impact on anything. There would've still had to've been a CoD3 at the time.
I just picked up the game today, my work paid for it, what a nice early Christmas present.
I am going to try and play the single player because it looks fabulous, but i love multi-player so, and hear its so great i will probably start that up realllllly soon.
There's splitscreen multiplayer, but with LAN, can you have more than one person on one system? It looks to me like you can only have on per system with LAN, so you'd need 24 x-boxes for 24 player LAN??
I must admit that i absolutely love the multiplayer in this game. thats not to say that are a some things here and there that suck about it, but ill be honest i bet 90% of those things would be cut out if i had more than 0.5Megs of high speed,
i am packin' some high speed powwwerrr *sigh* i need to move.
Only thing they need to fix is snipers and the ACOG scope... AND THEY ARE. oh, and the spawns on headquarters. Because the first team to capture a headquarter wins 90% of the time.
Because the first team to capture a headquarter wins 90% of the time.oh yeah, definitely. I've never played an HQ match that hasn't been a landslide victory or a losing battle. Never once has there been a neck-and-neck race. :(
Still grindan for my P90.
As long as I'm playing with my usual team it's fine. Often we've come back from a 200-0 match to win it. You just really have to spread everyone out and hope to all *** that your one teammate can kill off their entire team and hold them off until everyone else arrives. But it's impossible to play if you go in the playlist alone or with just one friend.
I joined a 52 man server last night on Shipment (on PC) it was fun :)
I just discovered the AK is the best assault rifle as long as you equip steady aim with it. Never have to aim again.
Went Prestige, Grinding to get M60 so I can grind to get AK74u and then MP44.
You know, there's another gone I stopped using suddenly. The AK74. I decided to just go with the P90 instead with silencer, bandolier, slight of hand and steady aim after a long time of not seeing what was so great about the gun. Easy mode.
The patch will definitely be here before the end of 2007! Awesome!
The finalized list (with killcams for EVERYTHING and merc mode):
Multiplayer Playlist Changes:
The multiplayer playlists in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare are always evolving based on community feedback and stats we track behind the scenes. We
dang i cant wait for that, sounds hella cool.
Bloc headquarters will be unpossible. So easy to defend points.
Oh man, can't wait to start playing this again. By the time I get my box back these updates should be in place.

Infinity Ward made a Christmas variant of the Crash map, that was added in the PC patch of the game. lucky bastards.
That is so awesome...
WHAT!? NO MORE OLDCORE! ZOMGJS:GLDJG:LSJDG:SJG:SDJG:LSJ
Oh man. DO WANT
when is this patch supposed to come out? and also does anybody else get a disk read error once in a while playing online?
my disk is not scratched or anything
I got my Xbox live card today. I should get my router tomorrow and the Ethernet cable sometime next week. :( Wal-Mart takes forever to ship.
Anyways I should be playing XBL soon. :)
Love Christmas CoD. Big Bunny on Easter plz.
Yeah buddy, you're screwed. It'll happen once in awhile. Then a bit more frequently. Then every single time you put the disc in and load a new map. Then every single time you put the disc in and try to load the beginning screen and it won't. Then you get to play arcade games for a week.
idk, DRE can genuinely be caused by ****ty discs or be one-offs sometimes, rather than a broken drive. There's a minor planet in Mass Effect I can't explore because I always get a DRE there, but nowhere else in the game. Plus, my Crackdown disc is in seriously **** condition, for some reason. Most games I have never DRE.
If you're getting it once in a while playing COD4, and nowhere else, it's COD4.
Like I said, if it's happening frequently something's up.
But you're right, if it's just CoD it's just CoD. Like my old Rainbow disc constantly got DRE (well, everyone's did) and it got progressively worse until I found the smallest crack I've ever seen.
And sometimes you'll just get a DRE for no reason.
True, although it first started out with R6 for me. It only ever happened on that game, and pretty rarely. Then it got worse. Got a different disc, still bad. Then I got a DRE on CoD4. Then I could load only one map on R6V (LVU campus) because most other maps wouldn't work. Then if someone joined the game in the middle of a t-hunt and we had to reload for that person after we finished, I would get a DRE. Then eventually I would just DRE as it was loading the multiplayer. Then I couldn't load any other game except for Halo (no idea why) and Halo worked perfectly fine for like, a week. Then as I was finishing the last mission on campaign and before I received the achievement, it DRE'd and wouldn't load anything at all after that. <3 xbox
Yeah, GOOD TIMES
xbawks gonna blow
It happened only every once-in-a-while until recently. Looks like I'm done with Halo 3 for good. Goodbye, old friend.
You mean until you get a new xbox.
By then I'll be playing other games. Like R6V2 and Starcraft 2. But still. What a shame. No more ****ing around in Rumble Pit and Social Slayer? Good times.
I think I'll actually play it still. Every once in awhile at least. MLG, here I come!
Don't bother, buddy. We're going MLG when Vegas 2 comes out anyways. So just wait a couple months.
Oh, yeah. It's so getting delayed, though. :(
Oh yeah, until November for sure, but here's to hoping.
I want to go to the Tougeki Super Battle Opera, not the MLG. :(
WTF i lost 6 lvls last night and a bunch of challenges. anybody know what happend?
It's been happening to other people. Since there's a problem with Live and they're MS' servers, information is being lost or ****ed up, like Live itself. It's trying to download your game settings but it gets confused and downloads an older file. Simple fix is to shut off your box, wait 10-15 minutes and try again. Your information should come back. Assuming you didn't play and overwrite your data :)
hmm to i could have just fcked my self by playin for 20 min wile im sick.....fck my life
You did. You overwrote your data and now the game thinks those 20 minutes is the proper data it needs to download from now on. Not like it takes long to level up though. 6 levels is around two hours of playing depending on the starting level.
yea i guess, im now at 34 down from 43 (9 lvls)
wont the server take the file with the most kills and time? and if i over wrote my data then where did the server get the old lvl 34 data from
No, there's something ****ed up on their end that's causing the confusion. It still has the old data, like a backup, but it's supposed to use the most recent. Clearly it's not, but by playing your old data it's effectively telling it that that's the new data. Doesn't mean it won't keep taking older or even newer data. Mainly because it has no idea what it's doing.
There's a post on the CoD forums about it actually that explains it pretty well.
Oh man, glad I've been playing Shadowrun all the time instead of this. There's no level system or stats whatsoever, so theres nothing to lose!
Or just do what I did, stay at 55 and be stuck with cats who can't play matchmaking. Problem solved!
it only takes like, 9 tries dude.
ALWAYS COMPLAINING.
win-loss record: 300-756. All because of you. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK lol
hahaha, wow. Seriously? It was like, 300-150 before you started playing with me.
Wait, I thought you sucked!
Yeah, wasn't sure we played that much.
AND ACTUALLY LISA, I'm not that bad!
Yeah, I only had to quit out of, like, thirty matches in total.
i come to you mighty lords of vgc with questions, number one how manny times can you do prestege mode? number two do you get anything each time you do prestege? and number three is there a list of guns you unlock and what level you get it at? ( looked at gamefaqs and found nuthin) thanks you
10 levels of prestige, all you get is a new icon for each level. You get nothing for reaching Prestige 10, level 55.
Weapons and ranks: http://www.depl0y.com/cod-4-mw-unlock-list/ranks
I've heard that prestige was only meant to go up for five levels, and that they're coming out with a patch to change it sometime.
no way in hell. well ok I guess. I'll play.
now i dno if i even want to do it if therse no reward
Don't. No point.
do it if you're 100% bored to death and you've already masturbated 5 times that day.
my friend's mom owned his xbox because he destroyed his grades last semester and i got this from him... and it could be, so far, one of the funnest and most awesome single player modes i've played through. i haven't even attempted to play online yet :s
btw, new mars volta leaked

Looks like IW have decided to skip the patch and just go ahead and give us new maps.
I can't wait. I haven't played the game for long and certain maps I'm already tired of.

The new maps - Broadcast, Creek, Chinatown and... Killhouse!
Broadcast is a mostly copy-pasted version of the TV station from the single player campaign. Creek's original content, set on a sunny mountain with a hut at the top and secret pathways. Chinatown is pretty much what the name suggests. Killhouse is apparently based on the training facility from singleplayer... I thought it was gonna be the R6V map. :(
Awwwwwwwwesome. I always thought that TV station would make a sweet map.
If they preserve the big central room with the TV screens all over the walls... Hell yeah.
I thought that's what the map mainly was. Didn't read the article, just looked at the pictures. They better ****ing do that
All the article tells you is:
Creek: A mountain with secret tunnels and outcropping walkways with a single building at the top. (One screenshot)
Broadcast: Based on the TV station from single player. (One screenshot)
Chinatown: ???
Killhouse: The single player training missions are being used as a basis.
http://www.gametrailers.com/gametrailerstv_player.php?ep=11&ch=4&sd=1
Chinatown is a modern remake of Carantan from COD2. **** YEAS! Probably the best COD2 map.
Killhouse has some potental
The DLC hands-on on IGN says that after the maps are released Old School Free-For-All will be gone, the two Hardcore modes will be condensed into one playlist, and the packs will have their own playlists obviously. I'm not sure if I like Hardcore TDM and Hardcore S&D being put into one playlist, and this is pretty much the death of Old School. :(
http://previews.teamxbox.com/xbox-360/1905/Call-of-Duty-4-Modern-Warfare/p1/
... They look great, though.
I can't wait. How much does it cost to buy credits to buy stuff over XBL? What's the cheapest one you can get?
I might pick some up this Friday so I can get the new map pack whenever it comes out.
idk about America, but
The PC community downloads updates as soon as they log on to the servers, in most cases. I don't know for sure, but I don't think the PC users will be charged for heir downloads. That's one of many downsides to using Xbox Live.
As soon as I get a TV again, I'll be back on and rockin' the CoD4 and Halo 3. It may be a couple of weeks--I hope shorter--but I'll rock the jukebox with ya'll once again.
Even if they were charged? Someone takes the file, renames it/makes a miniscule edit, and it can be redistributed. If the PC market can't control free distribution of the latest games, they sure can't control four map files.
We'll see. I sure am looking forward to playing again, though. Even if I didn't play Old School or Hardcore with any of you guys, I still enjoyed just loading up on Team Deathmatch and just getting my "kill things" fix for the day.
Old-school hecka sucked, so that can **** off for all I care. Hardcore is great though, but I don't wanna play S&D unless I'm playing with a certain group. So they better not change that.
Hardcore S&D and Hardcore TDM are two entirely different gametypes. They don't deserve a merged playlist. If anything, they should ditch 1v1 or Merc TDM.
That's silly. No way this is real.
btw, I can't get RSV2 until like, 6:30 when it comes in. Kills self.
COD 4 needs a website for stats like Halo 3 and bf2s.com
So, the VMP is out, and I went ahead and downloaded it. General impressions -
Creek: Sniperfesssst. It seems, to far, to be a pretty imbalanced map. The team that spawns on the decking have a huge tactical advantage over those who spawn on the opposite end. Great map for sneaking around with a silencer and UAV jammer.
Chinatown: Pretty much the exact same map as it was back in the day. All the old strategies work, and the visual redesigns look great, and change things up a lot from the RUSSIA / IRAQ themes of the original maps.
Broadcast: My favorite new map. Objective matches on here are nuts. When you get an HQ to fight for in the TV room... Oh wow. It's pretty much Stalingrad, with people running in from every direction and getting slaughtered.
Killhouse: Only played it in a custom game with my buddies, but it's similar to Shipment in that it's only good for deathmatches or gentleman's agreement fights.
Now that I got Live (HOORAY FOR BRIDGING!), I may download the new maps. I don't know if I want to pay that much for them, though, now that I'm on the East coast and able to find other Halo players.:(
Corupted Souls is recruting and is a a new clan looking for recruits.
hope you concider joining, and if you have anymore questions just message me or IM me at gtowngrubbs500-AIM
IM me for the homepage sense they wont allow me to post the URL code on here.
Ten bucks says your clan sucks.
Ten bucks nobody cares what you think.
Ten bucks says the opposite and you suck at call of duty.
so your judging me and my clan before you evne played against me/or us?
More or less. Just going off a hunch. Usually if you're a decent clan you don't need to recruit players off random forums.
well why dont we just try it out andplay a match or two to prove this little opinion of yours. and maybe im posting on random forums to get more members.its good to go around to diff forums to recruit....
Sounds like a waste of time. I know I'm good and I'm content in my belief that you suck, that's all I need. That, and usually you'll get more than enough great recruits from the game itself if you're a good clan that you don't need to hit up forums.
well then you my friend needs a life if your gunna go around judging people before you know anything about them or your just to afraid to lose beasue to suck at the game
prejudging people has nothing to do with the lack of a "life" it's just a characteristic of a person, so I'm not quite sure about your logic on that one. As for losing, why exactly does it matter if I do lose? What does it prove if I win? As I said, I'm content as is, if I lost so be it, doesn't mean you're necessarily better or your clan is good, it just means you won a game. And yet, as you say that, you bring my "life" into question. Quite odd.
Vamp, Cats, and Dexter vs. entire clan.
This is my turf. Everyone's already part of my dexterous clan. You'll have to win against me if you want them to join you and your petty clan. bwahahaha. Let us fight 'till the death!
Oh yeah, what modes does your ****ty clan even play? Regular, S&D, Hardcore, Domination? If it's anything but regular TDM you suck. Especially if you play hxctdm.
Forget him. He has no mic and he has good levels that won't work/load for him.
Wait, seriously? You talked to him? What a faggot. How good can a clan be when one of your members can't even play the game properly.
He did that thing where he clicks his modem off and on when he's the host and made us all have bad connections. I had useriousdude and the guys in there. It was an all-around awful experience.
haha woooooow, he was using standby? jeez...
totally called it. Wow. **** clan, terrible at call of duty.
Good call, Vampy. I never even experienced standby until tonight.
Huh, never played it. Considering to buy it. Just one question... Is it anything like the other Calls of Duty? 'Cause those were.... not so very different from Medal of Honor. And Medal of Honor gets old. Fast.
It's way different and much better than the Medal of Honor series. I think you'd come to realize that if you'd play it more. Definitely get Call of Duty 4. Infinite replay value on Live. If you like FPS games, then this is a must have.
Call of Duty is hardly anything like MoH.
Ugh, Dex is playing CoD4, now, too? Fuuuuuuuck... I guess I better get in on that. :(
I would have been playing sooner but I was stuck on a long trip without my Xbox. I'll probably be taking another trip here soon so you better get on before I go. Wait, why are you not already playing it? Get with the times! Anyone who honestly enjoys FPS games online should have this game.
I've had the game for a looong time, pretty much ever since I had a 360, I just rarely get online. I'm too busy playing WarCraft III and carefully following Seth MacFarlane's career.:)
Well, they have similarities. They are both FPS games and same war theme. It's just that Call of Duty is far superior. That's the biggest difference.
Haha, yeah. They're similar if you consider every FPS similar. In short MoH has been terrible for a long time and CoD4 is the pinnacle of FPS brilliance. Seriously, even the single-player is the best.
I have Cod4 if anyone wants to meet up. but please only good
players, because i need some team tactical wins. My gamertag is Nero
Vagrant. i am a lv38 and walk out of most match even or positive. I do allot
of cages and S&Ds if anyone needs help with those I'm here. Um... i got the
game last week and have even been playing that much, but like i said i walk
in to match and come out positive. So send me a Friends request with VG on
it and well meet up in CoD4. Oh and can someone tell me when the next
double exp day is. I want to be sure to be there. Oh and pm me to with your
gamertag and i will add you if that's easier.
They haven't announced the next double XP event. You just have to wait and see.
Man, who cares about x2 XP? I just stay at 55 silver stars.
People who still have the original rank 55 = best COD players. Fact.
It's true. I've never played against a 10 prestige that was better than me.
I have two accounts One is 55 no prestige and the other is on it's eighth
prestige, lv41 i think. If someone ****es me or i one on one someone i'll fight
with the lv55 so i can have all the guns and perks and all of that.
I prestiged, then realised you don't get anything for it so as soon as I hit 55 of prestige 1 I'm gonna stop there.
Haven't played for ages though.
I can't even count how many times people say "WOW WHAT A FAGGOT, LOOK AT HIM NOT PRESTIGING" and it's like, dude, it's completely pointless, wtf
i think i'll just accept the fact that they're way better than me at cod and not prestige.
lol
We're both better than the vast majority of tenth prestiges.
I just like that COD4 is almost totally about being the smartest player. People play for days and it's still easy to outflank them or set up an ambush.
I played in a CoD tournament this weekend. It was absolutely TERRIBLE. I'm sorry, but CoD is not meant to be a FFA game, never will be. It just doesn't work, even in System Link.
FFA is great. You just have to play it right. Dead silence, silencer. I don't think I've lost a single FFA match actually.
No not really, the best class for a tournament is your gun and five different combination of perks and accessories and what ever. like me:
tournament classes
AK-74u
Second pistol
flash nades
Bandoliar
Double Tap
Steady Aim
AK-74u- silenced
Second Pistol
flash nades
Three special
UAV Jammer
Dead Silence
M21- ACOG
Desert Eagle
flash nades
Bandoliar
Stopping power
steady aim
Pump Shotgun
Desert Eagle
Smoke Nade
Bandoliar
Stopping power
Extreme Conditioning
AK-47 grenade launcher
M4 Carbine grenade launcher
Smoke grenade
Sonic Boom
steady aim
This is my tournament ready class set-up, each class has it's own reason. Class one quick kill,
quick run, and steady aim so that when there close you can just pull the trigger with out bringing
the gun up to your eye. Class 2 If they get UAV, they can't see me hear me or find me, leaving
me open to find them. Class 3 is a insta-kill because it's a sniper with stopping power, and steady
aim and ACOG for close range combat, and guess what map is one on ones are on, shipment.
Class 4 is a freaking shot gun class, do the math. Lastly the final class is the one hit kill class
that will make sure you will never be behind in a match to to long. These are the type of things
that you need to think about a one on one and in a real match. This is the Ultima-Classes that
get me to Prestige in 3-5 hours of game play.
How ****ing boring is that. Plus, I never got the point of having two classes of the same gun. Personally I use the AK47, M16, RPD, P90 and M40 for my classes. Any gun for any situation.
Plus, I'm right on the thing above. FFA tends to be a lot quieter than any other mode, so being fast and quiet is pretty important. The last thing you want to do is have everyone know where you are, especially when playing against good players.
AK-74u- silenced
Second Pistol
flash nades
Three special
UAV Jammer
Dead Silence
To reply to your being seen problem. An "good players", come on now if you go into any match what do you see. one score on each team above 250 and everyone else negative in ratios. At best 5% of the gamers in that game are good. and hell even the cages matches are broken. Walk into a cage match and ask what they are doing and they will say "head shot?" proving that there are few people who are good at this game.
Ak-47 and RPD scream sprayer. If you have a m16 there goes your QBC skills, simply because if you hip-fire those guns there sure to go every where. Also If you silence any of these guns you'll have all the accuracy and range is gone. So on any other map than shipment your pretty screwed. Also, i never said you had to use these. I'm just saying that i use these and there very effect when i am using them, in one on one and in other matches, But who knows what your good with my bro is a shotty owning rapist.
I just got my XboxLive up and running, add me: Nadalin.
Just tell me ur adding me so I know who it is.
Ak-47 and RPD scream sprayer. If you have a m16 there goes your QBC skills, simply because if you hip-fire those guns there sure to go every where. - where the **** is your punctuation
- what the **** is QBC
- pretty much every gun goes everywhere in hip-fire, thats kinda the point. even then, whaddup steady aim
- silencer only effects range, and even then its a small price to pay for the ability to make yourself radar-invisible most of the time
COD4 had the best ending I've seen in a very, very long time. Putting that bullet in his head added this epic feeling. "Hah. Take that, bastard."
Then I realized you had to shoot the other two as well.
If anyone wants to play me, add me but tell me who you are and where from... CookieSlayer666... I'm a pro with the sniper rifle... TRUST! :)
If anyone has ever been part of the SpyHunter program over at Gamespy.com, you've probably seen me there a number of times... and just to prove it's worth playing with me, here's a couple of write ups I was mentioned in...
xbox360.gamespy.com/articles/868/868950p1.html
xbox360.gamespy.com/articles/872/872233p1.html
I don't believe it you're probably a big jerkface.
add me, usually play every day-ish around 12 AM. too lazy to add you and xbox link at top of page
dont add the guy above me, he will go prone in the grass then BAM acog M40 to the face and your KPD will slide down the charts
what a dick
haha, man. Not like customs have any affect on your KDR anyways. Cause if they did I would easily be at 3.50 by now.
I think mine on my 8th prestige is 2.01 or something. Regaurdless i'm up for a good gunner, my name is HellDragonVoid
The problem with FFAs, tourney-wise, Vamp, is that you aren't allowed EVERY gun and EVERY perk, you have to stick with the pre-made ones for System Link play, and they're all pretty bad.
---
I have my classes (if I'm not just grinding to get some experience) set-up usually like so:
G3 - Silencer
M9 - Silenced
Bandolier
UAV Jammer
Dead Silence
G3 - Silenced
M9 - Silenced
Frag x3
Stopping Power
Extreme Conditioning
RPD - Red Dot
M9 - Silenced
Frag x3
UAV Jammer
Extreme Conditioning
P90 - Silenced
M9 - Silenced
Frag x3
UAV Jammer
Extreme Conditiong
M21
M9 - Silenced
Frag x3
Stopping Power
Iron Lungs
I know what you're thinking, "WTF? G3 TWICE?!" but I've used it enough and I have to say that it's probably the most consistent gun in the game. It's more accurate than the M16, it has a huge range, almost zero recoil, and it's all around a great gun, it works well for me.
Guessing these are hardcore classes? Can't say I'm a fan of that mode at all.
Though EC on the P90 rather than steady aim? and iron lungs rather than EC or steady aim on the M21? Don't know about those two.
I've used Steady Aim enough to note that, for the most part, it does not affect your hip fire enough with Sniper Rifles to be of use. For the P90? According to the Wiki, Steady Aim only decreases hip fire recoil by 35%, the P90's is so low that it's almost no difference, and the M21's is still so high that it makes no difference. Besides, if I wanted less hip recoil, I'd just go with the M14 with an Acog scope. They're, essentially, the same gun.
Steady Aim makes a huge difference for snipers when it comes to hip fire. There's many no scope techniques that take advantage of it, but I use a sniper rifle like a shotgun, so idk.
Same goes for the P90 though. I've noticed a big enough difference with steady aim to just always go with it. 7/10 times you won't need it, but for those three other times it sure does come in handy. Plus, all the perks in slot three suck enough that it doesn't matter.
True. Extreme Conditioning is almost always used for nothing but quick escapes from Martyrdom, for me. Then again, I sprint A LOT on certain maps, like District, I can't find myself standing still for very long because there are way too many spots to (shoot/get shot) from.
*edit* Come to think of it, there are a lot of perks in the third slot that are really useful. Dead Silence is good, because you cannot be heard, EVER. Extreme Conditioning is good for getting across maps really quickly. Martyrdom seems to net a LOT of kills for players on smaller maps, especially because it's so unexpected among pro players; same with Last Stand. Iron Lungs is VERY good for certain snipers (by the way, I don't know if you've noticed, but every single sniper rifle does the same amount of damage, regardless of what it says in the little meter), especially if you're trying to out-snipe somebody who already has a sniper rifle but not Iron Lungs. Eavesdrop and Steady Aim seem to be the two most useless in that slot. Steady Aim will obviously have a few more uses than the former, but I just can't imagine a time at all Eavesdrop would be useful.
The only reason I use the P90 is because the F.R.O.G.S. used it. :(
I'm mostly surprised Vamp didn't criticize me for using the G3. I'm only upset about the glitch with the silenced G3 where you cannot stab people. It's literally impossible; stupid glitches.
Oh, I forgot to mention, I NEVER play Hardcore, I'm almost always just playing Team Deathmatch, only 'cause I can't get any of my friends online at the same time as me to play. :(
And it's the best gun in the game.
I realize that an M40 with an Acog is good, and I agree, I need the semi-auto to do me any good, because the bolt-action isn't fast enough when nearly every single other player either has an M4 or a P90.:(
---
EC has worked well for me, and I will use Bandolier sometimes, it just kind of depends on my mood and my confidence. If I feel I'm playing badly, I won't get Bandolier because I think I'll die before I use my ammo. If I'm confident, I'll get Bandolier because I think I'll live long enough and get enough kills to make it worthwhile. Still, though, I love to throw frags.:)
---
Wait, why would you call those perks "gross?" Seriously, my last 40 or so games I've had (literally) a 2:1 KDR, which is really good for me. My ratio was like .74 just a week ago, and I've gotten it up to 1.08 (not that big of a deal, but a HUGE difference) today.
I don't know, I find the M40 to fire more than fast enough to pick up that second shot if you missed the first. Most players suck too much to react fast enough.
And I see why would wouldn't use bandolier now. I personally can't live without it because it's way too frustrating to run out of bullets, but yeah, if you're not playing well it would be a waste of a slot. And for me personally I'm not a huge grenade user. Once I spawn I figure where someone will be at throw it as soon as possible. Luckily, it usually works! And if it doesn't, well, I prefer not to use them anyways.
also, what time do you play at? We seriously need to play.
Well, I'm online a LOT, lately. Pretty much any time my roommate is at work and I'm home, I'm online. That'll be today (tomorrow?) from 1 PM - 4 PM EST. I could get online now, but I'd have to play with no sound, unless my TV has a headphone slot.
Holy crap, lots of edits this night... I invite you but you never accept my game invites. Cats does the same thing. Pretty much EVERYBODY from VGC just ignores my invites.
I need people to play with because I suck and hate the online play in general. :(
Just tell me when you get on...
Wait, are you even on my list?
Soooo... I avoid playing this weekend?
Nah, you're playing with us.
I'm playing right now!
Hmph, I guess I'll just hop on for a moment to see if I can play without noise.:)
---Or not, my wireless networking adapter is being a little bit of a pain. Sometimes it just doesn't work.:(
Too bad, dude! Played a good ten matches, never went before 30 kills. Shotgun juggernaut combo 4ever
I've got work all of today and my mornings are reserved for Viva Pinata. Anyone on tonight around 11:00 CST?
I was! Likely be on saturday night also.
I was playing Viva Pinata. I totally forgot about our date.
Tonight is a go, if I'm lucky.
If I'm awake!
Stayed up all night playing call of duty, fuuuuuuuuuck
*** ****ing ****it, I'll play tomorrow night for sure.
do I even have you on my friends list anymore?
**** call of duty 4 seems so dead on the PC system , everyone is just playing call of duty 1 haha , we are all just waiting for call of duty 5 , i heard that in the xbox this game is growing much larger , i just hoped that they can stop making so many call of duty games , i mean we the communite are getting fead up that the game dies in a year , only game that lasted in the PC for a bout 2 years was call of duty 2 so many LANS for it then suddenly they popped out with call of duty 4 , call of duty 8 will be us vs the martians <3 <3 <3
Not too many people are waiting for CoD5 after playing CoD3. Plus, IW are already working on the sixth game. Not to mention there's still a community of regular CoD2 players, so the game definitely doesn't die just because a new one comes out.
VAMP DO IT NOW
Shoulda been on during the day. Me and skitzo played a good handful of games. Was a good time.
Yeah, until I had a few too many drinks and couldn't play for ****. Who goes negative? Seriously?
I must have had just the right amount of sauce the first game, though... That was sick. :p
stole pretty much every kill from me. Not to mention the two helicopters that ****ed everything up.
I kinda stole pretty much every kill from pretty much everybody... :-/
So I got back from Japan and I tried to play CoD4 and I didn't do so well. I was only away for 3 months but I killed no one and died 7 times. The controller felt strange, I wasn't adjusted to the sensitivity level. I'll regain my skill.
Should only take a week of playing to get back to where you were.
Meh, I give it about two days, actually. If you were a decent player before, it doesn't take long at all.
So, I'm kinda looking forward to WaW. I was excited for CoD3 at the time, and that was a huge disappointment, but ****, I can't help it. I just have an affinity for WWII guns I think.
anything bolt-action gives me a hardon
Yeah... seriously. Bolt action guns are just more fun to use. Plus, I can go back to using the MP44 without feeling like I'm at a disadvantage.
Though, I gotta say, the Kar in CoD3 was terrible.

fuuuuuuck, this actually looks really good. It looks pretty close gameplay-wise to CoD4 thankfully, but they added tanks in a couple maps and replaced helicopters with dogs. Which, I gotta say, is pretty cool.
And apparently a beta is coming out in a couple days. This game better not disappoint now.
I'm just sick and ****ing tired of WWII. :(
Down with WaW.
I'm not really. It's only boring when you do D-Day over and over again, but it's no different than using an M16 in every modern military game, and personally I find older guns way more fun to play with than newer guns.
Though Treyarch sucks at single-player, so I don't really care about that aspect.
So, I joined the new CoD site cause I heard there was a beta going on eventually and I thought "MIGHT AS WELL SEE WHAT'S UP" and there was an option to migrate your account from the CoD4 site so I did, and turns out since I was a member there for so long I qualified for one of the first few beta codes.
GO FIGURE
so I'm downloading it now. Hopefully it's decent.
How was it sir?
said it was pretty much badass
Yeah, it's pretty **** good. Besides a few balancing issues there's nothing wrong it.
Though, those balancing issues being pretty lame. For example the bolt-action rifles are useless. Without a scope it takes 2 shots to kill someone most of the time, and that's near impossible to get because all the other guns are great. I mean, the semi-auto rifles kill in two to three shots, but you can fire those rounds in less than a second. So why the bolt-action rifles are so weak is beyond me.
And Molotov cocktails are near useless. It's an alternate grenade but it has to be a direct impact to kill anyone.
Artillery strikes also suck pretty hard. They last forever anywhere from 7 seconds to 20 seconds and they rarely kill the other team because by the time you call it in to the time the first shell hits the other team has spawned somewhere else or gotten the **** out of there. Very rare to kill anyone with it. In fact, all it does is **** up your team. It's like an airstrike in CoD4 but you get stuck in it.
Everything else is good though, especially the dogs. Holy **** they tear **** up. But yeah, I love it. Already have a good 15 hours on it and 2,000 kills.
