Sony DVD RW drive cant detect blank dvd R's

Posted by scylla

It was working just fine with being able to write to blank DVD R's & DVD RW's while I had Windows Millenium Edition on it but for some reason the burning programs that I use always say there is no disk even when there is. It can read disks that have info on it just fine but I cant say it does the same with a blank dvd r... Any suggestions? The technical info for the thing is pasted below.

I think that Alcohol 120 creates a virtual drive automatically. Make sure that G: is your physical drive, not the virtual drive.

I dont think the alcohol program is to blame. Any program I use including nero even thinks that there is "no disk" when there is a dvd r inside of the drive.
