So I've been thinking about modifying my Wii case a bit. I was going to paint it black(or maybe just leave it white/another color) then take out the left side panel and make a window in it. Inside the window I'd put in a matching blue LED light, or possibly another color depending if I make the console a different color.
But my main question here is, how would I hook up an LED light? I was thinking about drawing the power form a USB port. Is that a good idea? I hear that drawing power from there can make the console freeze. But then again I heard it from a 'un-reliable' source.
So yeah, tips and such are also very welcome.
I use my Wii's USB to charge my phone while I'm playing Smash, so it shouldn't be a problem. But won't a thick USB cable kinda ruin the effect of the LED?
Yeah I thought about that. But I might drill a hole big enough for the cable to go to. Since the Wii will have its back to the wall, no one will notice unless they walk up and turn the Wii on an angle. Or I could maybe take the USB port out of the holder and keep it inside the casing. Then possibly makea cover where the gap would be.
you should mod you wii and tv so its all one unit, like the dvd players on some tv's, then use you wii case to make a kickass toaster
Something like a Wii laptop?
Waaaaaaaaay to much work for me(to do muffla's idea). Although I saw a video on YouTube of a guy who did it. Seemed pretty cool. Although he kept the Wii inside its case then mounted a movable screen, put the sensors closer together, etc. Seemed like a cool idea. And alot easier than totally taking apart the Wii.
I must say I don't like this idea much
