I'll play today. And ****ing CoD2 and its achievements. EVERY time I'm about to get one, either:

A) It freezes similar to the way RSV does.
B) I beat a mission on Veteran and it doesn't give me the achievement
C) It doesn't give me checkpoints and I end up losing 15 minutes of playing time

It's not that hard, but hard enough to discourage me. MAD.

COD2 is one of the only games I have that doesn't give DREs or anything similar. It's a Classics reprint, though, so that might have something to with it.

I'm stuck on Veteran, so I don't have a lot to do.

I've never had a DRE with CoD2 or any of my other games except for RSV and Gears. Actually CoD2 has never given me any problems whatsoever. Huh.

Oh, also picked up G.R.A.W. 2 today. Game shop didn't have any copies of Halo 2 (which is what I was going there to get) so I hope this is better.

I almost got all 1000 in GRAW2... but then I started playing Rainbow Six again. Getting that 60 minute defender achievement was a *****.

I was going to try for 1000 in Double Agent, then I realized the online portion is dead.

So Angelwangz wanted to play today. It probably wouldn't have worked out because of the whole router thang, but it goes a little like this:

I can't join a lot of hosts, so I have to find a game myself and invite you. But that can be a bit difficult on CoD2 if you don't join quickly. ;_;

Only one. That 10 for finishing an online ranked game or something. I would have a ton more if I still had my old memory unite, but since I got the elite only a few months ago, I had to start it over. Still, I didn't have that many in Gears before. Just what you get for going through the game in coop, really.

Last night was awesome. Played Rainbow with Vamp and some of his friends and had a blast. I was going to get off when Vamp left at midnight, but then I got stuck playing some other dudes until 5 in the morning. Late night gaming is the way to go. I'LL BE BACK TONIGHT GUYS!

Hill 400 was the only part of the game I found easier than the tank missions. I only need to beat Veteran Crossing the Rhine now. :cool:

The original Call of Duty had an actual beachhead offensive, which was what I was hoping for, but COD2's was pulled off better.

Yeah, exactly. Plus, the beachhead offensive thing has been done to death. And climbing the rappel and having a dead body fly past you was pretty cool.

As soon as you see them, tap L roughly in their area and shoot immediately without aiming. Autoaim usually takes care of the rest.

Works for me. Just look at them, press L and fire. Autoaim usually gets them in a good position on the scopes as long as they don't duck.

CoD has terrible stickyaim. If you go into multi and let your cursor just sit there, it'll automatically stick to players that run by for a short time.

same with the Assault Rifle in Halo CE. It was bananas.

Halo has horrible stickyaim AND autoaim. CoD is really only bad for the former.

Halo 2 at least. Halo CE had a lot of stickyaim, but hardly any autoaim, which is why you have to lead your shots so much on XBC. Which sucks.

It's like Oblivion with more variety in terms of combat, but without everything that made Oblivion a good game.

yeah, if race had it's own voice actor and that's it. But it really didn't bother me. The main characters you interacted with that were part of quests were pretty cool. And Shivering Isles was even better.

The VA for Andrew Ryan is fantastic. The speech at the beginning has just the right amount of dramatic effect. I can actually recall most of it from the top of my head.

Yeah, I know what you're talking about. I don't know what it is about those guys, but they know how to do that diary stuff. SS2 had it as well and even then it was great. Doom 3? Not so much.

My only complaint is that I'd liked to have met the characters close up. And found out what happened to Suchong, Sullivan, etc.

You get to see a couple strung up in front of Ryan's gate. You learn about the fate of most of the others through scenes of dead bodies or recordings.

Wait, can you make out who's been hung outside Ryan's gate? I assumed they were just mangled corpses.

There's an accu-vox by McDonoughhoweveryouspellhisname on the first corpse. Pretty sure that's supposed to him, just like the girl further down who talks about trying to break down Ryan's gate. Whenever there's an audio diary on or by a corpse you know it belongs to that person typically. Or someone related.

Oh yeah, I really liked that part. The American campaign in general was more RESPECT OUR WAR VETS than the other two. The Brit campaign was just comedy.
