One of my favorite times of the year...Shark Week (dude I'm a nerd, get over it)...being in the DC area I get to see all the cool stuff Discovery does for it first hand (their headquarters are in Silver Spring, MD)...starts on the 29th, and the previews already have me hyped...
p.s.: I'm also petrified of sharks and water (yeah pretty silly i know), but this STILL interests me...
Yay I go to the beach tomorrow I hope Jaws doesnt find me.
Shark week rawks. I shall place sharks in my avy and siggy.
Make them swim around. Kinda like those birds.
Like Raptor, those birds often make me think there're bugs buzzing around my computer and I try to blow them out of the way. Although swimming sharks would rawk, if I can find some.
And man, I miss those Thumb films. Blair Thumb was my fav of them all.
I don't watch the Discovery Channel much. I watch Mythbusters, and that's about it. I'll probably flick through and see bits of it, but other than that idk.

It doesn't hurt to re-watch something - you might learn something new!
Besides, after seeing stuff like Planet Earth, I have a lot of faith that it'll be both more interesting and better filmed.
Shark shows dominate every time. Every time.
Sharks scare the **** out of me
It's only natural that they do. They are the killing machines of the sea.
Sharks are sensitive creatures too. The reason why they are killing machines is because if they are weak enough to let their body to be slightly damaged, its difficult to recover, hence they have to be aggressive to protect themselves. A lot of the times, they don't attack humans to eat them, but they are afraid of being threatened. As long as you don't have any cuts that would send their senses crazy and mind your own business, they leave you alone, really. Its a shame that sharks are always under such scrutiny.
I think it's the blood that does it, right? Scary!
I think it's the teeth that scare me most. The inside of their mouths look so bloody.
I heard the teeth aren't very strong and are easy to break. Or is that whales?
I'm not actually sure. They look thin, but like, really sharp. I guess that's because they're carnivores, aren't they?
Yep. I thought it was because their teeth were made of cartilage but like I said before, I could be mixing that up with whales.
On top of that, they have an almost infinite number the replace the ones they lose, which is awesome.
THEY ALL HAVE BRISTLES. fact, look up
I entered this thread, read only the most recent post, remembered that we were talking about shark teeth, and my mind jumped to shark tooth brushes.
Which is way more interesting than what the conversation's really about.
Nice try buddy. That's pretty low though, editing a page on whales just to prove yourself right.
Past shark weeks i was interested in the shows. This year it just seems boring. They need to put more new shows on. For a 20th anniversary its letting me down.
All the shows I've seen are like "SHARKS ON TRIAL" "SHARK REBELLION" "SHARK CONSPIRACY" etc etc. makes me giggle and turn to something better. Seriously, those are ****ing stupid titles.
Hey theres a shark show on tonight called shark tribe. Yet another great title.
sharkpunch
"Science of Shark Sex."
...
"Science of shark wrestling"
hahahaha...theres actually a show on tonight about tiger sharks, and only two more days left of sharks terrorizing people on television...I'm all for that.
Ill probably watch it. I need something to do. My plans for tonight are all messed up.
I went and saw sharks yesterday. Wee!
