Nintendo are now worth more than the whole of Sony (including SCE, Sony Pictures, Sony Electronics etc)

On a related note, apparantly Namco-Bandai, Capcom and Sega are shifting focus to DS and Wii from PS3 and PSP.
[quote]Quick News - It is being reported that Bandai Namco, Sega and Capcom will all be turning their focus to Nintendo's Wii & DS rather than PSP and PS3 due to disappointing sales of Sony's platforms. Ecksbocks?
I read on that earlier. Apparently it was only temporary.
Probably, but the fact is Nintendo is about even with the whole of Sony now. That basically means Nintendo have more buying power when it comes to exclusives and more money to invest in R&D for their next system than Sony does.
Aren't they in second place now for electronics in general? Which is fairly impressive if all they have is games and consoles.
Gates > Nintendo > Sony
Yeah, when I first saw this story about a week ago I was extremely surprised. Considering their limited selection of products compared to Sony or even Toshiba goes to show you what selling your systems for a profit can do for your business portfolio. Unfortunately, we the consumers won't get to see any of of that in lower prices. but that's no big surprise. :(
Like Speedfreak mentioned, Ant, Nintendo has all of that cash for R&D, which means we'll most likely see more value out of the next gen of their handhelds and consoles.

The world > Gates > Nintendo > Sony.
Well I guess when you spend less for your console, and make your consoles less expensive, it'll do you some good financially.
Nintendo are just a brilliantly run business. Analysts freaked out and predicted doom when Nintendo reached their all-time low of 23% profit, but the truth is that kind of figure is what Sony and Microsoft dream about.
They know how to make money on games better than Sony and especially better than Microsoft, who has yet to make any return on Xbox at all.
Currently dominating the videogame world also helps.
