Not that I was going to buy it... But ****ing hell.
And yet this won't have any effect whatsoever. Thank *** for importing.

Think of all the retarded ten year olds who wanted to play it! I doubt they'll import.
Hell no.
Wait, I don't like Manhunt.
I like Manhunt, but I am in America. But I don't agree with this. It's just a video game.
Rockstar has only itself to blame. Time to start censoring.
not surprising but easy enough to get around
Was anyone really expecting anything different? Chances are, this is going to be banned in most countries other than Canada and America.
Well, it got an AO by the ESRB. Which honestly isn't much better :/
The old argument that it's just a game is mighty weak in this case. It's not just violent; it's too violent. That's possible, you know.
The game seems to go beyond "potentially bad influence" and enters "Nobody should ever see that" territory. It's a safe bet that the rating boards knew what they were doing when they banned and AO'd the game in its current state.
Don't worry about not being able to purchase the game as censoring will undoubtedly occur. Rockstar wouldn't sacrifice the UK and the US for the sake of preserving some content.
If they appeal it, which they will, a different group of people would be rating. Professionals as apposed to the parents and whatnot that do so normally.
So, is it AO because of the violence itself, or the fact that you can literally act out the motions of violence? Man, I'm looking forward to a stupidly violent game.

**** this game, why don't we just beat the dog**** out of Roger Smith.. with whiffle bats?
A/O is the kiss of death for games as lots of retailers like walmart won't carry a/o games so Take Two is fighting this to get it reduced to an M rating.
Britain doesn't have A/O, the maximum is an 18 rating. If it's too bad for an 18 rating then it doesn't get any rating whatsoever and can't be released.
Well, now the rating is even worse in that Nintendo AND Sony both said they won't allow that kind of rating on their system.
Bummer, we're really missing out on some KILLER(pun intended) violence. :(
Has Jack Thompson started some little victory dance yet?
I always like sensless bloody violence but I don't intend to buy this, I get my sensless bloody violence from TV and the internet.
i plan on buying it just because ppl keep talking about how bad it is. xD
Thats stupid
http://www.petitiononline.com/4manhunt/petition.html
Online petitions work now? Shocking how many people actually want to play this game.
I've never played a game rated for adults only. I would like to try one. Plus, people enjoy controversy. Slim is probably the number 1 selling solo musical artists of the '00 decade, so far.
*Shudders at the context of "musical artists" in above post*
Eminem is one of the best lyricist we have, especially when it comes to rap/hip-hop.
Eminem's neat.
Wait, is the game in general getting AO, or just Nintendo's version? If it's the former, I actually want to play it to see how violent it is, because I can think of many very violent games that weren't even considered for AO.
gatting an AO in general take two has now confirmed it won't make it's july 10 release date for any system.
Yeah, they said something about how it has nothing to do with the Wiimote being more of a 'training device', but more the sadistic torture that the game includes and how they feel it is overly gratuitous.
They can cut the game to get a different rating, put the game out as is, or cancel the game entirely. I'd just put it out as is.
I hope they put it out as is. I'd buy it.
censorship sux. Haven't studies proven that violence in TV and the Internet is just as bad as any videogame? So....when do we ban the news?
[quote=Dexter;608418]Eminem is one of the best lyricist we have, especially when it comes to rap/hip-hop.
Whoa.. whoa.. Shut the hell up, farmboy.
Yeah because the BBFC give a flying fuck about your elections.
After the type of administration we've been enduring, these upcoming elections are a very big deal. I'm not saying Bush is bad(he is, don't ****ing kid yourself), but whoever replaces him will have to clean up the mess. Will we have a president who listens to the rest of the world and knows how to ask for help? or will we get another "do it yourself, your way, evil doers who do those evil things" Texan.
I like how that petition's author is acting as though stores would actually sell an AO-rated game if the console companies said it was okay.
Yeah, Wal-Mart'll let that fly the day they add hardcore porn to their DVD rack.
I'd play any game that causes this much controversy.
[quote=Vampiro V. Empire;610453]Yeah, I couldn't give a **** about the UK. I'm talking about, you know, America.
The ESRB didn't ban the game in America, it was only banned in the UK. Nintendo and Sony's policy of not allowing AO games on their system has existed since the ESRB was formed, no election would have any bearing on this.
You are wrong.
If it comes on the 360 then America is saved. Hooray, Achievements!
Well, they can still appeal the decision and demand an explanation for this faggotry.

Microsoft have the exact same policy as Nintendo and Sony. They would not allow an AO game on their system.
You said this would blow over once the elections end. They won't, because
1) the game was banned in the UK by a UK ratings board, which couldn't care less about US elections, and
2) the game wasn't banned in the US. It actually got a rating by the ESRB, but Nintendo or Sony will not allow AO games on their systems as a long-standing policy which also has nothing to do with elections.
Once the elections are over nothing will "blow over" because they have no bearing on this entire situation, and neither does all the recent violent videogames controversy. You are wrong.
And don't pull that "I'm never serious on the internets lol" crap out either.
Did you just skip my last post? I'm not talking about this particular game, but everything that's going on with video games in the public these days. I quoted a kid who was talking about censorship and violence in games in general, not just Manhunt. Jesus, wow.
Oh, right.
Because videogame violence controversy is a pretty recent thing.
Notice how it always flairs up whenever some sort of election is coming around? There's always controversy, but it's always the worst when politicians need something to make them look better. Hence the latter part of my post. yay
It's really too bad, because people who are very "*** fearing religious" types tend to have a high turn out rate during election season. Politicans try to please them with as much censorship as possible to make them happy, but after they get elected then most of those plans get scraped.
