Photographs from my travels

Posted by Klarth

I acquired a Nikon D40 a few months ago and have been attached to it since.

The first set of pictures were taken in Bath, England:

Next is Moscow. Russia was amazing, but the food was kind of not nice and I was really ****ing ill the whole time:

St Petersburg:

San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina:

Valdivia, Chile:

The only trip on which I did not take any photographs was my week-long stint in New York, which I sorely regret.

Ah well. Expect to see more in this space.

Wow, very nice stuff. You certainly ended up in some really nice places. You're also quite a good photographer.

I remember looking at all of these on your DeviantArt page and being amazed by them. Absolutely beautiful photographs of places that I can only dream of going to as of now; I love the pictures you took in Russia and Chile in particular.

Wonderful work, my friend. I'd love to see more in the future, too!

I was looking at these on your DA page yesterday. I enjoy photography a lot, even though I know nothing about it except PRESS THE BUTTON. Very pleasing. Yes, you please me. My favorite is the tree, with the lakes in the background. The overcast compliments it nicely.

I love the pictures of architecture in Russia and the scenery of Argentina. You definitely have an eye for good shots.

Thanks, droogs.

These are all hotlinked from my Facebook album; higher-res **** without artifacts all over the place on my devart profile:

Some of those are amazingly well done. I really like the ones of the buildings at that one with the tree and the lake.

I'm absolutely crazy about statues, so naturally the one with the statues is my personal favourite, the lighting is incredibly powerful. The rest are great too. You have an excellent eye for placement and colour. These were shopped I assume?

Posted by Klarth

Actually, I did most of the post-processing in Lightroom, but yes, a few of them did receive a run through Photoshop.

A few of the shots are actually HDR (specifically four of the Chile ones and one of Bath pictures), and apart from merging the different exposures they didn't go through much postwork at all.

Wow, some of those places look pretty amazing. Nice photos, too.

Went for a stomp around my area last night (still Chile):

I realize I'm talking about a picture of a staircase, but that second picture is pretty cool.

All of them are really good, but I especially like that boat one.

I love the photos. Good job dude. Anyways my favorite would have to be the boat picture. But hell the rest are just as good. ;)

Update! Major photo session in town yesterday:

And, finally, a self-portrait:

Late comment. But I love how you can see the stars in the pictures you took at night.

Yeah, you're really ****ing talented. Beautiful stuff.

That forest scene rocks ****ing hard.

oh you. Here have an e-hug! I'm actually a real novice at this kind of stuff; the first two pictures in this thread were taken on the day I got my camera, and it's actually the first one I've ever owned. I bought a how-to book though so hopefully I won't suck as much soon!

Anyway, since I am going to be afk for a few weeks (boat's leaving early tomorrow morning), here's one last picture I took... Eleven days hence?

Low-quality because I left the workfile on my external hdd, and never really did anything with this.

Enjoy maybe
