Hey, these are pretty cool. The last one is awesome. I love dogs, especially little ones.

Even WITH the guns you look cuddley!

xD I love the 4th one the best.

When I have my Ariakon SIM-4 R.I.S. Elite Paintball Gun is when the girls tend to cuddle with me the most. Girls need their heroes, I suppose.

We had an all weekend paintball tournament the other week, full of intense battles and major pain. We had all our equipment with us, prepared and organized, even my Generation 2 night-vision set. Huge theatre of war, a battlefield with plenty of wondrous hills and forests and rivers and furrows and bunkers. I wasn't even able to cover the entire battleground during our four day, three night war. Over 250 warriors, split into two teams. I took the girls and we went on our way. We didn't do much shooting at all the first day, just a bunch of walking, passing refs along the way. We walked for miles, enjoying our conversations and the gorgeous appearance of Oregon, until the slightly rainy night was upon us. We found a pleasant place to set up camp and got cozied up to the extreme.

We had a ref nearby just in case we had any action during the night. Refs were similar to those English soldiers who are silent but they pace around us like a bird waiting for a meal. The only time they talked was if someone had a question about the rules and to force those rules upon us. They wore bright yellow vests that glowed well at night.

It was around 3:37 AM and Ashlee and myself were the only two still awake, talking about how warm the rain was and giggling about Tiffany's quiet, sweet snoring. Then we started to hear a distant conversation between two or tree guys (ended up being 4 guys!) and that conversation was getting louder and it was coming towards are cozy camp. Ashlee whispered something about waking up the other girls (3 girls) but I told her we could take them and that we wouldn't want any of them to get in the way and die!

It's actually more frightening then you think. You're not sure if they're from your team or if they are with the enemy. You don't know their exact numbers. You don't know what sort of weaponry they have. It's dark out. You have to protect and have the guts to pull the trigger, and even though it's just paintballs, it feels like so much more.

The ref was still nearby and I'm sure the our visitors saw him when they got closer but it wouldn't faze them because they were a common sight and didn't mean that there was anyone nearby. Refs were stationed all around the battlefield.

Luckily we had the upper paw on our visitors. We knew they were there, they had no idea about us. I whispered to Ashlee to stay put and keep the girls calm if they wake up then I quietly got out of our sleeping bag, put on my equipment, including my Night-Vision, and made my way up a nearby tree. By the time I was up there I could easily hear their conversation, which was about their team, giving it away that they were, indeed, enemies, and I could see their flashlights. They were going on the right side of our camp, walking slow and talking loudly. Amateurs. I didn't need my Night-Vision, their flashlights gave away their positions, and I didn't even have to attack, for they would've walked towards the right of our camp and missed us completely.

I took precise aim with my Ariakon while I tried to decide whether or not to fire. I easily saw three of them, two with flashlights, but I wondered if there were more, perhaps a little ways behind. I had confidence that I could take out all three without them figuring out where I was at. They had no cover and I'm a good enough shot to where they wouldn't have time to find it if there were. My only hesitation was my uncertainly about their numbers and the danger it could bring.

I made my choice, I started to fire. The ref knew we were there and was prepared to keep his eyes open for who got shot. They weren't loud shots like a real gun would make but as soon as the enemy started to get shot they started yelling "I'm hit, dead man" and it woke the girls up. The ref shouted at the dead enemies to go back to their closest base to re-spawn and they made their way back towards the way they came saying things like 'good shots, didn't see it coming.'

Right after I shot all three I was out of the tree and rolled over to a new position in case there was another. I saw that Ashlee was up on her feet to see the guys walk away with their guns held in the air, aiming upward, and before I had time to worry about her she got shot! ****it! I knew there was another! I knew exactly where he was, too.

The ref shouted at Ashlee, telling her to go back to our closest base (which was over an hours walk back the way we came.) She hesitated in disbelief, probably wondering "by myself, without sleep. How will I find my friends again?" She had no choice though, the ref pointing her out of there and without any exchange of words she left.

There was silence. The girls were awake, but they were definitely not going to get up after what happened to Ashlee. I knew where the enemy was but I didn't have a shot. I waited awhile, hoping he'd move so I could take him. Finally, after about 2 minutes of waiting, I threw a 2 dollar paintball grenade and BAM! I got him good. Ref told him to make his way back and that was the end of them.

Then the girls and I were forced to make a decision. We needed to choose whether or not to stay put until Ashlee got back or move our position. I thought that the enemy would return our way once they tagged their closest base but I wasn't sure how far theirs was. We could've been camping only a few minutes from one of the enemies bases for all I knew.

We decided to wait for Ashlee. We had to stay up the rest of the night and get in positions in case the enemy came back first, but luckily Ashlee was back first, after about 2 hours, and we moved on.

Man, reading that makes me want to get back into paintball.

2nd and 4th pic were the best. Your puppy is soooooo cute ^_^

You look like you were born for paintball.

4th pic is cute, and that puppy is adorable.

The 'hobo' look is so good for you. Way to go.

Posted by veritas

what kind of dog is that. Bulldog maybe?

Quoting Angelwing: 4th pic is cute

I agree. Tokunaga plushy ftw. :)

I can't believe such epic paintball battles are going on so close to here... That sounds like a ton of fun. Probably makes regular camping really boring.

Thank you for noticing. I just recently noticed how well I do with the hobo look. I'm comfortable wearing it too. And since I enjoy walking around town more than driving, it works out well. I remember that story of yours when you went out acting like a homeless man and I usually find myself thinking about it. The thought of the part where you walked in front of cars mumbling a mishmash of eccentric words puts a smile on my furry face.

Quoted post: what kind of dog is that.

West Highland Terriers. Not my favorite kind of dogs, but they earn me the moneys and I enjoy them.

Nah, that's still good. Way more relaxing and sleep is involved.

Wait, you got rid of the scotties, only to get westies?

Posted by Dexter

I used to have both, but with building the house and school, it was just too much, so I sold the last of the Scotties and that was that. These should be the last puppies I sell. They've actually all sold already. I'm going to give them two more weeks with their mother.

Posted by Vampnagel P. Wingpire

Oh, I hadn't realised you bred both.

I actually think I like you with shorter hair better. But the hobo look isn't all bad.

aww cutest lil' polar bear puppy

Posted by Shade

I couldn't bear to sell those puppies. I'd try to put them up, take one look at their little faces.. and well, they're just too cute to let go. ^_^
