The 80's sucked as far as cartoons went. Wasn't till the early 90's did a lot of cool cartoons start.

ahh! real monsters was pretty legit

Ahh! Real Monsters! was nineties. I know because I was born in eighty-eight, but I remember when that came out.

If we can mention some nineties stuff, I'm also going to throw Swat Katz out there.

I used to love watching Ren and Stimpy, Rocco's Modern Life, Doug, and Hey Arnold. I ocassionally see Rocco and Hey Arnold on. O there was also a show I saw, It was about these mice that rode on motor cycles. That was an awesome show.

**** the 80's, the 90's had the best cartoons by far. Batman TAS, Superman TAS, Mummies alive, Gargoyles, One Saturday Morning etc. etc.

Maybe I'm biased growing up in the 90's, but, everything 80's seems so **** cheezy to me. Batman alone claims the title for the 90's.

the cheese was what made it so great. Even the real shows were over the top cheese - Punky Brewster, Different Strokes, Silver Spoons, Charles in Charge, Facts of Life, Webster....

Like Gargoyles!

As for the 80s, the only good cartoons are Gummi Bears and TMNT.

I don't really remember the 80's. In those days, all I did was watch the same old Disney movies over and over again. Only ones I remember are:

Thomas The Tank Engine
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Winnie The Pooh

80's sitcoms I appreciate now because I was too young to then:

Full House
Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
Roseanne
(mostly 90s but whatever)
Saved by the Bell
Cheers

Late 97? That's when they started to suck.

There was a cartoon I watched in the 80's that I can't remember the title of. It started out with a live-action sequence of a band practicing in a garage, and then this fat cartoon guy appears on their mirror for no reason whatsoever and screams "I'm taking you to the Flip Side!" at them before sucking them through the mirror along with their Cadilac, thus turning them into cartoons according to the laws of physics. The show centers around them trying to get back to the normal world, naturally. If anyone remembers the name of that show, please let me know. It's driving me crazy trying to remember.

Nevermind. I found it: Kidd Video
