Weird. The rumor is about a very cool feature that could make the PS3 a lot more attractive, so that's always good, but Sony doesn't want the rumor reported because they want to surprise people (or leave something for developers at GDC). Or, worse case scenario, it's all false or in very early stages of development and could be scrapped at any point.
At any rate, I already set up my schedule, and it doesn't include that particular keynote. I'll read about it or talk about it with people in the convention, instead.

Its a rumour. Why should Sony care? I dont see Sony sending e-mails to all the *** of War fanfic writers. Maybe they should. In case they infringe on the forthcoming plot.

I think Sony went on the Defensive just in case they couldn't pull it off. Although by that time it would have to had been mostly completed. So they knew what it was pretty good but they probably were going through final testing and the other late stages of development.
