So in a few months, I'm taking four days to go down to vegas with a friend. Is there anything you'd suggest I do/see while I'm there?
Gamble ;) If you want to do really well, ask one of the people who works in the casino to put you on a winning machine, and tell them you are willing to pay them 10% of everything you make. My friend got rich from doing that.
If you don't like gambling, then go see a show or something.
My sister is going down there in a few months, and I might decide to grab a couple friends and ride down with them. Meaning I can't actually suggest anything BUT IT WOULD BE PRETTY COOL TO RUN INTO YOU.
That would be awesome. We should totally plan it to work out.
When are you going exactly?
Explore. I stayed there for a few months with my sister and exploring all the different places was my favorite part. All the different casinos with their styles and art. There're shows all the over the place. Singing in the streets or dances on the stage. There's really no particular place I would suggest. I suggest not staying in any place for too long. No more than two hours in each casino! There's just too much to see and none of it seems to be worth much time.
Must be the fattest city in the world.
You should definetely visit some of the hotels of Las Vegas Boulevard - my most favorite would have to be The Bellagio, and followed by that is The Venetian. Depending on your budget, you should purchase a ticket and watch Cirque Du Soleil; very good performance. There is much more I can recommend you, but I don't know how much you are willing to spend.
Hm, if I went it would be either around Easter weekend, or closer to early May.
I think you can afford it right now. Its not the holidays or anything so I'd assume everything would be much more cheap. Its a shame that you are only there for a few days. If it was a week-long stay, I would rape you if you didn't go to the Grand Canyon [which is about a five/four hour drive].
I know, I really would love to go to the Grand Canyon. When I move to LA and have the time, we'll go on a road trip.
I'd drive into Vegas in the middle of the night, check out all the flashing lights for awhile, get tired of the flashing lights and shelling out money for everything within the span of about two hours, then drive southeast and spend a few days in Zion National Park.
Moving to LA? Oh Shi-
ANYWHO! I haven't been in 6 or so years. But there's a ton to do other than gamble, since you won't be 21 by the time you get there :$. No one really mentioned downtown, and go down Fremont street. It has this covered area and has nightly light shows on the ceiling above. Oh! Also go up the Stratosphere and go on the ride that launches you up and down on the tower, that had to be one of the scariest rides I'd ever been on my entire life. Like Xenos said, check out the Venetian, the inside is all built up with canels and ****. New York New York is pretty cool, too.
And just for the hell of it, look up the Texas Station casino/hotel, and go the buffet there. It's wonderful. Not only for the food, but from the gratification you'll get knowing that I ate at that very same place.
Yeah, we were thinking about me not being 21 yet, so we're going to wait a bit. My friend had already planned to go in September, so I'll probably just go then. Sorry, Vamp. But you can always come to Winnipeg. ;) Or maybe I'll go to Toronto sometime.
I've been to Winnipeg enough to know not to go there again.
Strip clubs. Or in your case, chipendales.
Good idea.
Yeah...Winnipeg really hasn't got anything going for it. Is it worth going to Toronto? Besides you in St. Catherines (I believe?), of course.
Winnipeg is good for finishing and camping. As for Toronto, it's the Canadian version of New York more or less.
Go to the BunnyRanch :cookie:
I really hate Vegas so much. Very grimey city.
DID SOMEONE SAY GRIM?!
grime grame glime glame
Check out the Hard Rock.
I'll have to agree - its not bad to venture in for a few days, but its a rather grotesque and decadent city. Not my type. I forgot to mention that on Las Vegas Blvd., don't be surprised to see porn all over the place. That's the way it has been the last four times I went there.
NEKKID LADIES? I'M THERE!
I've only spent one actual day in Las Vegas, and most of that time was spent in a water park called Wet 'n' Wild. I can almost guarantee that if I was to visit that city again, I'd be staying out all night and in my hotel room all day, just so I wouldn't have to witness again how ugly and revolting the city is by daylight. It doesn't even feel right to be out in Vegas during the day. Unless you're at, say, a water park.
Ah yes, I've been there too. I was eight or so years old when I went though, so I was too scared to go on any of the really steep waterslides.
And yeah, Vegas isn't Vegas until until after the sun has gone down. Hell, if only for the fact that it isn't 120+ degrees outside(if out during summer).
I've been to Wet 'n' Wild... though in Ottawa...
I don't really care for Vegas all that much. The best thing I remember about it was finding a 7-11 with 20 different slurpee flavors.
My friend and I went on a super mega budget though as part of our x-country road trip. So we stayed in a craptabulous motel 2 blocks off of the strip for $50/night and didn't go to any of the shows. Essentially casino-hopped, drank, stumbled around, and then collected the hooker trading cards they pass out at night.
Heh.
Wasn't my idea to go, actually. My friend just really loves it there, so I said I'd go with her. I'd rather go somewhere else, but I'm sure it won't be too bad.
oh yeah so I actually never went when I was supposed to. Now I'll be legal though so it's probably better. going for sure this september for at least a week. my boss wants to move to the vegas area next year (possibly?) and if she does I'm going too. it's a good time to go because i can save a bunch of money here and buy a nice house down there for cheap. woot
burger king boss? lol
yes i still work at burger king making $15-$25/hour
I defeated the Burger King boss once. Now my power's over 9,000!
That'd be cool if you lived in Las Vegas, Lisa. You should like, gamble all your money. :cool2:
no way dude. but it'd be closer to mexico!
That's true! But... I might actually move back to Banff now. :o
ugh
well then me you and cody need to hang when you do :@
Fo sho'. And maybe we can get Vamp to come if he's not too lazy.
in that case i say we all meet in winnipeg and trash it...more
Sounds like fun. Let's destroy that horrible city.
(H)
I forgot to ask you when are you coming back to banff? We need to hang with Cody!
I'll most likely be there by the end of July. But yeah, we should all chill out. :cool2:
alright, will you have access to a car?
I've only got my learner's licence right now... so no, I guess I don't really have access to a car... yet. :(
well get your full then! or you can't? idk what the new rules are exactly, i was able to get in just before the deadline. (H)
There's new rules? I had no idea. :dunno: Either way, I'm gonna have to wait till I'm in Canada, 'cause a Mexican licence isn't valid over there. :o
well, the new rules have been in effect for nearly six years. so i guess they aren't so new. lol mexico
Six years?! Yeah, those are the rules I've always known.
better hurry cause i ain't drivin all the way to banff!
Psh, c'mon, it's only like 15 hours. That's nothin'!
I'm done after five hours. That might get me to Regina!
