In these four photos above, I notice a consistant trend that may look good once or twice when spread away from another, but they aren't so I picked it up right away. You have an up-and-down theme of perpendicular lines. It's like a curtain effect almost but note quite, and it seems to push out from under the actual graphics you're trying to emphasize, as if swallowing it and only letting it bleed out after the eyes have taken in the curtain effect. I don't particularly care for it, seems to squander your work a tad. Besides that, its got a unique look to it - something I'd personally try and move towards when it comes to writing and the effects to emphasize them.

I accept critisizm when the person knows what they are talking about... and you seem to do.

the up-and-down theme of perpendicular lines, is becaese sometimes I use a forest background faded into the artwork, to give it more depth.
But those 4 samples jsut happen to be ones I do that on, I do not use the effect on all my work.
