GTA 3... No... most definitely not the "best pc game ever." It's good, but the controls and graphics? Come the **** on. If you were talking about best PC game ever do not bring up control and graphics when trying to praise GTA. The graphics? Dude... controls were all right. Nothing that really amazed me or anything. They were just... there.
Best PC game could possibly something in the HL series, as Sean mentioned, or possibly even the original Warcraft RTS. The story was just epic. There are probably 2 dozen games that are much better than GTA actually, now that I think of it.
Half Life, Counter-Strike, Age of Empires, Unreal Tournament, Civilization, Warcraft, Starcraft, Total War, Dreamfall, Company of Heroes, Dawn of War and the MMO mod for San Andreas would like to have words with you, Greg Inglis.

Entertainment-wise, that is. SC is only better by how well-balanced it is.
