Seems like Nas' new album, Hip-Hop is Dead, has begun an uproar that might spark the flames of a East VS South battle.

A link to show something.

These rap wars are stupid. If I had to choose a side I'd go with south though. Dirty south, snap, hyphe, how can you not go with the south?

Heh, Party tunes can really drive the genre in the wrong direction but they're all over the place. Today you don't need to be a lyricist or anything that has to do with the true potential of being an MC. All you need is a catch hook and a banging beat to get the fame and fortune but maintaining it will be the true challenge and that where most of these new characters will fall off. You see Nas and Jay-Z keep going at it because they have it in them to keep pushing for newer heights. You can't call them one hit wonders but you can call many of the southern rappers one hit wonder like D4L, Dem Franchise Boyz, Young Joc, Young Dro, Bubba Sparxxx, Chamillionaire, Mike Jones, Paul Wall. And the list dosen't stop there but there are those few that we can call diamonds in the rough like T.I. and Juvenile.
I think KRS knows what he's talking about. Since "Hip-Hop is Dead" is the new thing to say we blame too many for such a thing but what do we do? Blame the guy who's king of the hill. Some may not agree with me and might even call my post just wrong but this is what I feel. We can't just blame one man, we have to blame everyone. The killer and the watcher who didn't do anything to save it.
