What's your favorite video game music? Here's mine
Mario Kart 64: Rainbow/Ending
Super Mario 64: Water World (or whatever it's called)
Vigilante 8: All of them
Mario Party 2: Ending
Mario Kart Double Dash!!: Sherbet/Mushroom City/Rainbow/Ending
I guess some of the music that i hum all day must be:
The Zelda theme from any of the Early gameboy games.
The Mario theme from Super Mario brothers on the NES.
Super Mario RPG: Legend of The Seven Stars: The music on any of the boss battles such as Mack or Yaridovich.
Conkers Bad Fur DAy: The main theme song.
And the intro/theme song to GTA III.
I like a lot of video game music, especially pretty much all of the songs from the first four Sonic the Hedgehog games. Right now I'd have to say that my three favorite video game songs [that I can remember right now] are Labyrinth Zone, Launch Base Zone, and Sky Sanctuary Zone, all from various Sonic games.
I just love music from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Earthbound, Tales of Symphonia, and just about everything from the Mario games.
I dont like that kind of music from games like that. I barely care for music that much so I could not say witch songs I like best. True Crime Streets of L.A. has good music, same with GTA SA, I dont have any of the games you guys listed so I would not know if they were good to me or not. But I do like some of the music from Zelda orcana of time.
Final Fantasy III/VI. ^(^^)^
MegaMan 2 and the first two MegaMan X games some good music, too. ToS has great music... Both Golden Sun games... Most Final Fantasy games (I especially liked the music for the ones on the SNES)... Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross...
... This could become a long list. ^^;
All the songs from Legend of Zelda OoT and Legend of Zelda MM. Those songs just make me feel good for some strange reason.
Sonic games have nice ones. So do most Square-Enix games that I've played.
All of the Final Fantasy games from VII on and the N64 incarnations of Zelda.
OOT's music was great, MM's was superior. Majora's Mask has the best music in any game I've played. Just listening to it makes me want to go through and replay the whole thing. Every song in there is good, with a possible exception of Snowfall temple.
The Mario and Zelda games, for their classic tracks, but Secret of Mana's soundtrack, while not the most elaborate, is amazing, and really adds to the flavor of the game.
Yay for Secret of Mana! Now go buy Sword of Mana!
MOST of the music I like is from the NES/SNES/N64 games.
I like SOME GBA/GCN/PS2 music, but it's the music from the old days that I somehow get reminded of.
Plus I'll even listen to them again while on the computer
http://www.vgmusic.com/
Super mario RPG and fire emblem for GBA.
i love the soundtracks to ff7, super mario 3, axelay, ghouls and ghosts, sonic 2 and megaman 2
Sonic's Green Hill Zone music, also the music from Super Mario Bro's for the GB
The Zelda and Final Fantasy music ^_^
I have always enjoyed the euphonious tunes from my Banjo-Kazooie soundtrack that I won for some best Star Fox score competition many years ago.
I like everything already listed. Wind Waker's "Cursed Ocean" theme is excellent; when it's eternal night and raining.
Ocarina of Time: Temple of Time, Water Temple, King Dodongo/Volvagia Theme
Majora's Mask - Clock Town: Day 3, Last End (when you have 12 hours left)and Woodfall Temple
FFVII: One Winged Angel (Orchestrated), Cid's Theme, Steal the Tiny Bronco!
Super Mario RPG: Smithy's Themes (Both of them)
Fallout 2
Everquest Main Theme
i like songs from
halo
kingdom hearts
super mario
zelda
mega man(boss battles)
metroid
Mario 64 had some nice ones. y top being Dire Dire Docks as it's so peaceful. This isnt my favorite however, I'm just stating it. Lost Woods was a catchy one too but again not my favorite. I can't think what my favorite is right now.
Life Force on the NES is one of my favourite soundtracks ever. Other beautiful music is in Mr. Nutz (S-NES), Donkey Kong Country 2 (S-NES), one of the melodies in Tetris (NES), Castlevania SotN (PS1), Castlevania (PS2) and of course Final Fantasy VII (PS1)
Maniac Mansion (NES)
I like most of the Chrono thrigger sound track plus most themes from early classic videogames. But I really like the music in Bajo-Kazooie games because they really know how to make the music mach the level perfectly.
Terranigma's music hands down, it's got the best music of any RPG I've ever played, all the music suits each situation absolutely perfectly. Before I played the game my favourite videogame music was Chrono Trigger's, that just shows how good it is. There's so many different tracks in the game I'm amazed they fit them all in.
It's a shame no remixers have given it much notice on OCRemix, we could sure do with some. Better than the 20 Zeal remixes at any rate.
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle makes good use of music. It's not game music in the conventional sense but most tunes really lay that funky beat down!
My favorite soundtrack is definitely final fantasy 7. My favorite being the world map music. I love that song and i listen to it all the time.
i dont really remember sonic from my younger days but i know for fact i used to own the one on genises. But as of now my favorite game music is in this order:
1.Kingdom Hearts-Simple and Clean
2.FFX-Zanarkand
3.Budokai 3-Intro Song
4.FFX-Battle Music
5.Kingdom Hearts-Open
My favourite music would easily be from Jet Force Gemini.
Just about every level had epic music that really put you in the situation and added to the atmosphere.
And then there was the funky disco music....:D
The music on the "Water Ruin" level is the single best music piece in a game by my opinion.
A few other good games with music....
The Zelda games:
Great Bay (Majora's Mask)
Dragon Roost Island (Wind Waker)
The Introduction music on Ocarina of Time still does the job.
Super Mario 64
Dire Dire Docks, as mentioned, just peaceful, and just something...
Final Bowser music.
Just about every part of Diddy Kong Racing had great music.
Very addictive in most parts.
My favourite is Darkmoon Caverns.
Metroid Prime.
In a word: Atmosphere.
The Chozo Ruins is great for thinking out what you should be doing. After a while it may even start to freak you out...you may know what I mean.
Magmoor Caverns, the music here very much feels just right. It "feels" like hard work, heat, and maximum productivity from whoever works in the place.
Phendrana Drifts...just really good, relaxing, in a way. The remix version of it is brilliant too.
I won't say any more cause I don't want to spoil any part of the game.
Every single song from Earthbound. That game, being one of the best RPGs already, has one of the best soundtracks in any video game ever. (3rd Gygas fight music PWNZ J00.)
Legend of Zelda: OoT
This Machine-Sonic Heroes
Team Chaotix-Sonic Heroes
Live and Learn-SA2:B
Casino Zone-Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Just about anything from any Sonic game is usually quite catchy. And of course, the main theme from Super Mario Bros. 1.
I also like the songs from SSB:M because it takes alot of classics and really make them ear candy. I really like the instrumental Kirby theme that they have on the dream fountain stage because they do such a great job on it.
I got to say the CastleVania and slient hill music was just great and some of the best out there for game music.
halo 2
when u kill the scarab, the bit on the e guitar
My favorite song from a video game is still the Yoshi's Island banjo song. I just can't get it out of my head.
Final Fantasy VII... OOT would be second. Final Fantasy VII has some really awesome music like One Winged Angel, Those Chosen by the Planet, and much much more. Awesome S*it Music.
Sonic DX- Opening
Sonic Adventure 2:Battle- Live and Learn
Sonic Heroes- Sonic Heroes(Main Theme)
Star Fox 64- Ending
Star Fox:Assault- Opening
Star Fox Assault- Battle with Star Wolf.
Paper Mario- Bowser's entrance or theme.
Pokemon Colloseum- Opening
Pokemon Colloseum- Pyrite City
Pokemon Colloseum- The Under
Pokemon Colloseum- Team Snagem's Hideout
Final Fanatsy 6 - Every song on the sound track is awesome
Final Fantasy 4 - Likewise
Final Fantasy 7 - Yeppers, again.
Final Fantasy Tactics - Even better than 4 or 7. Not 6.
Mario 64 - Jolly Roger Bay
SMB 3 - Ending music
Animal Crossing - K.K. Tango/Two Days Ago
And that's all I can think of.
Fei-on
FFVII: One Winged Angel
Megaman X: Highway Intro, Storm Eagle, Spark Mandrill, Zero's Theme
Megaman X2: Wire Sponge
Megaman X3: Gravity Beetle, Zero's Theme, Blast Hornet
Mario 64: Inside the Castle Walls, Mario 64 Theme (Bomb Omb battle field)
Super Mario Bros.: Main Theme, Underworld
Viewtiful Joe: Another Joe, Alastor
There's a lot more :(
Anything Yasunori Mitsuda has touched.
The top 4 being:
1. Xenogears
2. Chrono Cross
3. Xenosaga Episode 1 Der Will zur Macht
4. Chrono Trigger.
My favorite song would actually have to be Liberili Fatili from FFVIII.
Honorable mention for soundtracks would be: Any of the Leagacy of Kain/Soul Reaver games, Zelda, Banjo-Kazooie, FFX, Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, and Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3.
I'm definitely forgetting some games.
Sonic Adventure 2:Battle- Live and Learn
Sonic Adventure 2:Battle- Dive into the Mellow
Sonic Heroes- Sonic Heroes(Main Theme)
Sonic Heroes- Overload
Star Fox 64- Opening
Star Fox 64- Title Screen
Star Fox 64- Katt's theme
Star Fox 64- Ending
Star Fox:Assault- Opening
Star Fox Assault- Star Wolf
i will always love the classic mario, and for now i like the origional halo music...not the halo 2 though, they tried a little too hard for that. Besides that i really dont pay attention to music in games.
Ah--! I love these:
Mega Man 2- BubbleMan Stage Theme (makes me want to dance <3)
Secret of Mana- Tidal Serene (;o; )
Crystalis- House Leaves (la la la~!)
Chrono Trigger- Winds of Time (D: )
Final Fantasy VII- Aeris Theme (<3)
Final Fantasy VIII- Everything = Nothing (:o)
Secret of Mana- Nighttime Evolution (pretty~!)
I have now deemed the music from the game Falldown in our very own VGC arcade as some of my favorite video game musicl
Hmm...I could name some,I have found no game matching the music in Chrono Cross yet,Chrono Cross' music was amazing, just wow,but anyways.
Here are some of the Chrono Cross songs I like (can't name them all though)
1)People Seized With Life
2)Dream Of The Shore
3)Chrono Calipso
4)Another Termina
5)On The Brink Of Death
6)Chronopolis
7)Terra Tower

9)Orphanage Of Flames
Shadow Hearts:

2)The Thorn Of Mind
3)City
4)Near Death Experience
5)Vitamin Metropolis
6)The Doll House
Chrono Chross has beautiful music... I have great respect for Yasunori Mitsuda =)
But specific songs?
I like the orchestrated versions of most final fantasy songs. Especially One-Winged Angel from final fantasy VII. And I can still rock to Otherworld from FFX.
And I still love the secret of mana opening theme... I used to just turn on my snes to listen to it lol.
I like Super Smash Bro's Music. It has a variety of it. I really like Saria's theme (Young Link's song)
Well, for PS2, it would have to be FFX-2.
For GCN, Tales of Symphonia.
For the NDS, Mario Kart DS
For the GBA, either FF Advance (I think that's what it's called) or Tales of Phantasia
For the Gameboy, Pokemon Green/Yellow/Blue
For the N64, SBK and SBK2
For any other system, I have no idea.
My favorite all time video game soundtrack is hands down Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. It has classical piano, hard rock and roll, vocal choruses, and captures the essense of both classic video game music and newer symphonic production values. That always has permanence on my iPod!
My other top favorites include...
Final Fantasy 7 for it's melodies
LifeForce for it's retro raves
Megaman 2 for it's pop beats
Katamari Damacy for it's wacky variety
Guitaroo Man - nothing like the beeman stage anywhere else
Streets of Rage - cool 16 bit hip hop
Silent Hill 2 - dark ambient sounds
Super Adventure Island - freestyle jams
:p:
I liked the soundtrack in Burnout 3: Takedown. That is all.
Most anything super-nintendoish, i.e. Sege, SNES, GBA.
Also enjoy Banjo Kazooie/Tooie music
Devils Never Cry-Devil May Cry
The One Winged Angel-Kingdom Hearts
The old school NES mario music.
[quote=Sephiroth89]
The One Winged Angel-Kingdom Hearts
Most overrated track ever. Nobou Uematsu is an idiot and his music is unbearably pretentious.
I loved the hell out of the Chrono Trigger, Radical Dreamers, Chrono Cross and Xenogears soundtracks.
Final Fantasy VII
or any Zelda game.
I gotta say the music of FF is great, but the one in perfect dark is more...stimulating.
My all-time video game music would be from Final Fantasy VII
http://freewebs.com/grandeurgames
I think there's really three songs that I find myself humming to throughout the day;
Standard Boss Music from Final Fantasy VII (or "Still More Fighting"...I think it's called, from the soundtrack)
Rufus' Celebration Song from Final Fantasy VII
The original Super Mario Bros. theme
Mario Paty - Credits
Earthbound - Winters (probably my favorite)
FFVI - Setzer's Theme
FFVIII - Fisherman's Horizon
Zelda: Majora's Mask - All the Clock Town music
Harvest Moon 64 - Winter
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 - Chemical Plant
Heh, I was humming Airman from megaman 2 at work today, wasn't even thinking about it, and my friend turned to me and simply said "you're such a dork"
Busted!
Lately I been listening to songs from the Silent Hill series and I really love Akira Yamaoka's music.
Sonic Rush!!!!
Ohhhh, and Valkyrie Profile also wins hardcore for its score.
TAL TAL MOTHERFUCKIN' HEIGHTS.
Dragon God (Chrono Cross) and Wrapped In Black (Sonic Rush) are all that come to mind right now.
Donkey Kong Country 2 Brambles music, Tetris Theme A, and the Superstar Saga boss music.
must spread rep before giving it to Zeta again :(
EDIT: must spread rep before giving to Crazy K :(
HOW COULD I FORGET EUROROCKITUDE (from Meteos)
*feels ashamed*
EDIT: http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/gba/Serris_Battle.mid is fun too...
Without reading any posts, I will say We Love Katamari, followed by Parappa the Rapper 2. I like a lot of game music, especially when they're music games.

i wouold have to say ethere the music from the original doom or the music from the original unreal tornament
The Zelda theme song or the theme from FFVII.
I always liked the music from the early Sonic games, not sure why...
Also I like the music from the Tony Hawks and Skate and Destroy games on the PS1.
I like the music from Katamari Damacy. Very unique and quite catchy.
