Ever wonder why Microsoft hasn't released an HDMI cable for the Xbox 360, or whether the AV port was really capable of digital out? Well, here's your answer: we landed pictures of what appears to be the second Xbox 360 -- the Xbox 360 v2, if you will -- codenamed Zephyr. (The original Xbox 360, if you recall, was codenamed Xenon.) The long rumored about and awaited update to the console won't just feature a new, cooler 65nm processor, it's also finally added an HDMI port for full digital 1080p pleasure, as well as a 120GB drive, just what the doctor ordered. The 120GB drive may or may not come bundled with the kit, we don't yet know, just as we also don't yet know how much a Zephyr 360 is going to run (we imagine it'll go for the same price as currently so they can keep up a little on their expanding margin). But our very kind Xbox insider seemed happy to let us know we'd be able to get them "soon."

Wonder how much the hard drive will be separately. I needs one of those.

i wonder if you could somehow transfer saves and what not to the larger hard drive.
i am very low on room because i have tons of tv shows/demos/videos saved and like to save everything.

Posted by Vampiro V. Empire

You'd probably have to buy a memory card and use that to transfer the saves.

Posted by Y2kMISFIT

The memory cards can't hold that much though, so would you have to save, transfer, delete for each game? Not that being tedious and all i would do it, just I wonder if it would work, and if your live account/gamerscore would transfer also. I am not ready to loose hundreads of hours of game time and achievements so i can hold more demos on my 360...

You account isn't tied down to one console or hard drive as far as I know. So that shouldn't be a problem. It's just having to do exactly what you said, transfer and delete, which may take awhile.

Your Xbox live account is not tied to your hard drive, as Vampiro said, so moving your account shouldn't be that difficult. I'm fairly certain the Xbox 360 memory cards are rather large (or, at least, I would hope they would be, unlike the single-slot Xbox cards were), so the "transfer-delete" theory should only be just a few trips, rather than the assumed thirty.

the biggest cards ive seen are 64 mg so yea it would take some time

what about arcade games?

Posted by Vampiro V. Empire

Arcade games are tied to your account. You'll probably just have to redownload them, and that's it.

I also heard this is coming with TiVo and a DVD burner. And tomorrow or monday when they announce it, they will announce what new games, like DMC4 and MGS4 are making it to 360.

lol no

Posted by muffla

Mgs4 mayb but DMC4 500 bucks sais no

Quoting Vampiro V. Empire: Arcade games are tied to your account. You'll probably just have to redownload them, and that's it.
This is totally unrelated but if thats true, it would mean you could recover your friend's account on your xbox and download any arcade games that he bought for free? Hmmm....

uh, no.

Plus, if all goes well, it's going to be on all three platforms.

Back on topic - man, I am glad I waited before buying a 360.

I really don't care about anything else but the bigger harddrive. I'll probably just end up buying that instead of buying a whole new system.

Wii is getting its own RE.

I would love to pick up one of these. The 120 GB hard drive sounds really impressive. That is A LOT of memory. I heard Microsoft is releasing a 100 GB HD sometime around June or July. Whichever comes out first, I will definitely be picking it up.

Since I am without a 360, I shall wait for this.
