Yes, that's right. The Burger King games have sold over 2 million copies. Enough to rival the sales of Gears of War. I fear for what this means. Good lord.

Posted by Fate

It's cheaper and more accessible than going to an electronics department. Food + gaming + same location = gold mine.

Posted by Vampiro V. Empire

Dur dur dur.

It's bagging for more advertisements.

Posted by Fate

But what's the surprise? I think it's funny.

Posted by Vampiro V. Empire

The surprise is that 2 million people actually bought into it. Not only that, but they were terrible games.

Posted by Speedfreak

Weren't they also like $5? It's easy for it to be an impulse buy when you're at BK getting a meal.

Posted by TendoAddict

BK always sold extra crap. Hell I still have a few gold plated pokemon cards that they sold once.

This is no shock to me, they were $4 and hell, why not try them. Its new and people are curious. If they make crap games over and over again people wont give a ****.

Posted by GameMiestro

Look on different rating sites online, and the average rating for these games is about 7/10. Not half bad, I think. Plus, you just can't argue with that $4.00 price tag...

Posted by Unite

I didn't know people still eat at burger king lol

Posted by Linko_16

Quoting Speedfreak: Weren't they also like $5? It's easy for it to be an impulse buy when you're at BK getting a meal.

My thoughts exactly. If I had had an X-Box 360, I'd have tried the Sneak King one.

Posted by Bebop

Ha ha awesome.

Posted by WILLETH FOR MONTHS

Linko, you realise that they're available for original Xbox too?

And yeah, while the sales rival Gears, it's like less than a tenth of the revenue. I wouldn't be too worried.

Posted by Linko_16

Don't have that either.

I'm hoping to win a raffle for an X-Box 360 at my workplace in a month or so, since I think there are maybe three other people who'll actually want to enter for it.

The King has put alot of time and effort into perfecting his burgers. he deserves this.

Big deal. McDonalds has sold more hamburgers than the fancy expensive restaurant down the street has steaks. We still know which food tastes better.

Posted by Vampiro V. Empire

Yeah, McDonalds. I just ate three cheeseburgers from there.

Posted by Bebop

The directer of Geras of War is a cock. Im quite glad something like this is on par with his creation sales wise.

Posted by Vampnagel P. Wingpire

BK just keeps on getting better.

Posted by Vampiro V. Empire

Since you left. What a coincidence.

Posted by Linko_16

I think the Burger King Kid's Club was way cooler, personally.

Come on. How cool was Kid Vid?

Posted by Sapphire Rose

Kid Vid rocked. I still have a toy of him I got a while ago.

Posted by Big Boss

I like Sneak King for its ridiculous simplicity and silly approach to gaming. I might play the whole thing just to get every Achievement possible.

Go King! (Not a fan of the burgers, but I do love the Chicken Sandwich.)

Posted by Dexter

I got two of the games. Sneak King was so worth the 6 dollars.

Posted by Skitzo Control

Six bucks?! It's $3.99, Dex-Dawg! Sounds like you got gipped!
---
That rocks. I wish these games could be the highest-grossing games of all time, but I doubt they'll beat GTA:SA, let alone Super Mario Bros.:(

Also, I think it'd be awesome if they got the highest rankings on GameRankings, but, alas, we all know that there is little-to-no chance of any game ever topping OoT.

Posted by WILLETH FOR MONTHS

Dexter had to pay for the food, also.

Man, I want Sneak King. Someone needs to buy it and send it to me free of charge, or something.

Posted by Dexter

Yeah, I have no idea how much I spent. A friend was going there for food, so I gave her a 20 to get me something and the games. Easy fun, but it doesn't last too long. It felt odd playing as The King

Zelda Wii and Mario Galaxy are the only games I can think of that conceivably have a chance.

Posted by Last Fog

I'll pay $4 for just about anything that will keep me amused even for an hour. I got all three of them, played each of them two or three days tops, and I can say it was wholly worth it.

And guess what... they were better than several full price retail games I've played.

Posted by Speedfreak

I don't see why my post deserves negative rep, those are the only two games that have a remote chance of toppling OoT. They're the two most highly rated franchises ever, the two next installments will be completely different to every previous game and therefore have the most chance of having the same impact as Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time.

You're a fucking moron.

Posted by Boner

I don't even own an Xbox, but purchased one of each of these games. I will hold on to them for 4 or 5 years and put 'em up on ebay. Quik bux. I could even sell them now for a small profit.

Just because it's different doesn't make it the best game ever. And it's not all that different anyway. TP is simply a bigger, slightly prettier OoT played with a new controller. Other than that, same old same old. And so far the same goes for Mario Galaxy. Maybe once Nintendo does something truly innovative with their new peripheral and stops milking the usual **** for all it's worth we'll have a new game of the century.

Why would you do that with something that's the LEAST likely to become a collector's item out of anything? A cheap-*** game that sells millions of copies does NOT a collector's item make. I guess 1992 Ford Escorts are collector's items too.

While I love Nintendo and the homelike franchises, I'm inclined to agree. Something incredibly unique is what I'm looking for. Twilight Princess was created for the GC but ended on the Wii, giving it a half-and-half feeling that I'm not really looking forward to. I want a game created from the ground up made specifically for the Wii, making the best of the hardware. Something really, really innovative. Once the initial "omg it moves with me" feeling is gone for Wii players, will the innovation stand the test of time?

That's my main concern.

I want a Pikmin game for Wii.

Watch it bucko, we still ban for stupidity around these parts.

When I talk about Zelda Wii I'm talking about the first true Zelda Wii game, not Twilight Princess. This should've been obvious when I said

Twilight Princess is known as the "last Zelda game of it's kind", as said by Shigeru Miyamoto himself, suggesting another series overhaul comparable to OoT with the next installment.

Mario Galaxy is completely different to previous Mario games, I really don't know how else to say it. You either haven't seen anything of the game and are just assuming a bunch of crap, like a moron, or you have seen something of the game and somehow managed to miss a ton of fundamental differences, like a moron.
Considering your track record in pretty much any video games discussion I have seen you take part in, I bet through your constant innovation in stupidity you've somehow managed to do both at the same time. Congratulations.

You shoot to different planets in between collecting stars and coins instead of jumping into a painting.

Posted by WILLETH FOR MONTHS

Yeah, Mario Galaxy is remarkably similar to other 3D Marios, Speedy. What's the betting that there will be a central hub from which you access other worlds, too?

Posted by Speedfreak

What's the betting that the new Mario offers some kind of challenge? HOT-DAMN guess you're right, Mario hasn't changed at all. Ever.

Please, a central hub is the only real logical way to do it, the fact that there will probably be another one in Galaxy is a good thing. Mario is about small challenges either in the form of a linear level or in the form of a challenge set in a certain area. A central hub that lets you tackle challenges in a non-linear order has been part of the Mario series since Mario Bros 3. Guess what, jumping and small secrets is in Mario Galaxy too, any one small element making a return doesn't change the fact that the game can, will and does play differently.

The shift from pushing Mario through a tricky environment to having direct control over an environment that already has considerably different challenges means nothing to you?

All I was trying to say was if any games could top Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time it'd be these two; not that they will or already have done. Learn to read, please.

Posted by WILLETH FOR MONTHS

To me, the gameplay mechanic doesn't seem altered very much at all. You run around and press A to jump. Some of the jumping has been moved to motion controls and the pointer acts as another way to collect items. While this is great and all, it doesn't seem to be particularly revolutionary.

So far all I've seen about altering the environment is the magnetic stars that pull Mario about. Again, kinds cool, but it's not comething completely new. I've no doubt that it'll be an awesome game and I'm sure it'll be a huge seller, but there's no justification to call it "completely different" to other Mario games.

Posted by Speedfreak

How about that fact that it's not really a platformer anymore, because there's nowhere to fall? How the heck did you miss that?

There's a lot more manipulation of the environment. You can stun goombas and freeze bullet bills and launch them at your leisure; rustle bushes and ring bells to reveal secrets; enable those weird zero-gravity glowing bubble things; pull on those sticky, elastic stumps to launch Mario at crazy space spiders and deflect asteroids from a lava octopus.
Then there's the total focus-shift as I mentioned in my previous post and the first line of this one and that Shigsy is looking to remove camera control entirely by using small spherical levels and large, open ones.

That's all off the top of my head with around 15 minutes of gameplay as a source.

If you guys don't think Mario Galaxy has the best [FOCUS ON THE NEXT WORD] chance of knocking Mario 64 off the throne then what, pray tell, does?

Sneak King.:)

But what are you trying to prove here exactly? Of course they're not good games! People get them for the novelty factor--buncha creepyass games starring The King!

They didn't, it's main criticism was that it changed barely anything. On top of that the levels sucked.
Because that's completely wrong.

...it isn't. When you jump off a large planet you land on the other side. If you honestly think the gameplay looks the same as Mario 64 you're blind.

wait, so mario galaxy isn't a platformer? **** wii, sony wins.

hmm is there even a burger king left in western Canada lol? I would like to try those 3 games out. Do they work on the xbox 360?

Yes, but I know I've read somewhere that the game is a lot deeper than what we've seen, and that it's not all planets that you can jump off and flip over. Besides, if you have a huge flat plain with a tower on it, and you fall off the tower onto the plain, that still counts.

Actaully no. If you find it fun after one day you're a numbskull like I said. Which isn't news of course. Everyone already knew that from your unending failed attempts at humor.

It's good for a cheap laugh but it's repetitive and mind-numbingly boring.

You are nothing more then a sad sack of human who tries to fit in with people on a ****ing internet forum. I troll people for my own amusement. I don't try to be funny so "20-something anime fan" can laugh at it. I'm a moron on these forums as a release. I don't try to be smart. I go to a prestigious all-male school and carry a 3.36 GPA. It's a grand release.

You, on the other hand, scream for attention when you try to fit in. I remember the dream theater fad, and you being the saddest thing to come out of it. You adorned your profile with pictures of the covers in a ham handed attempt to fit in. You agreed with anything Raptor said about the band, up to the point where people, including myself, called you on your ***-kissing. You disappeared after that, only to come back and try to fit in again. You are a complete moron on the whole.

Also, you are a faggot.

Are you kidding me, idiot? I never listened to Dream Theatre in my life. Ever. I don't know a blessed thing about the band. I've never tried to "fit in" to anything here. In fact I've been bashed for being a non-conformist. Just to clear things up. :)

Plus, there's a difference between trolling and popping into a topic to make a terrible joke and just be ignored for it. If you were really such a troll you'd be banned by now.
