Can't save/download on Firefox

Posted by junior senior

I use Firefox, and I can't save anything or download any songs from websites.
I used to be able but all of a sudden it stopped, and the recent downloads/downloader won't appear either. It works with Internet Explorer but I can't stand using that, concidering the massive amounts of popup ads daily, even with a popup blocker.
I have updated firefox to see if it works, but no success. :(
I've been in the options and everything is normal.

I can save anything else, though. If I copy a picture off the internet and paste it in Paint then save, it saves.

Please fix this. :(

I found something online that helped:

close FF, then using your file manager, locate the file downloads.rdf
which is located in the FF profile. Once found, delete it. Now try
again. Does it work this time?

To locate your FF profile, you can read this:
http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/edit#profile

but if you're using windows, then you must read this first:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...ddenfiles.mspx

and it worked. :)

don't delete this, but keep it so if anybody has this problem, they can be helped. :)

Wow, that was insightful of you to solve your own problem so quickly. I wish more people could fix their own computer problems nowadays.

Well I was getting tired of not being able to save anything for the past month...

Posted by Omni

Yeah, that'd be a serious *****.

Right click>Save Link as. That saves songs. And possibly videos too.

you're an idiot because that didn't work. If you had read my first post, maybe you'd understand what I was talking about. this is why you're on my ignore list.

Quoting Junior Senior: this is why you're on my ignore list.

That was so funny. He didn't even read it.

Do you know what would be cooler than the idea of someone solving their own thread so quickly? Solving it before they make a thread about it. Google and thorough research before forums, guys. One website is not "the whole Internet."

As for the rest of the thread: lolkthxbai

I posted the second post an hour after I started the thread. I went here first to see if anybody else had this, since I know a lot of people here use FireFox.

I don't really care why...

SLIGHTLY OFF-TOPIC: I hate to ask, but what was the smartest statement?

Posted by Trigger

The second part of my statement.
