if only a bit useless.
Grab to remotes, absolutely any, unplug your sensor bar and power on your Wii. Now point your Wiimote at the screen and bam. Yeah, that's about it. The sensor bar senses basically nothing. Using the remotes just replaces it, and if need be, allows you to stretch the distance of the Wiimotes usability. Rather than the 15 feet or so you get, you can now play your Wii from 75 feet away if you really want to.
Enjoy something of absolutely no use :)
I've heard reports that you can use basically any light source as a sensor bar alternative, even candles.
You can so stuff like make a battery operated one, allowing you to have the Wii further from the TV, or maybe make a bigger bar, allowing for larger TVs.
...Anyone tried it without any sensor bar?
I have. The controls can be slightly less imprecise, but it works.
