Why is VGC an hour ahead?

Posted by Zeta

My computer clock says 9:30PM, while apparently VGC's most recent post was made at 10:30PM. wtf?

Your computer clocks wrong.

...That, or the server VGChat is on just started/ended daylight savings time.

EDIT: Mine is also an hour out.

It's Jesse's server clock. It's an hour ahead, has been ever since DST ended.

Hey Jesse, reset it!

Posted by Raptor

I never even noticed.

Don't fix it. It'll drive everyone wacko if you do.

Posted by Omni

I noticed that before, but I forgot to make a note about it. I think it's from when the site was down for a few hours earlier.

Posted by Linkman

I noticed it 2 weeks ago. Didn't care enough to say anything.

Posted by Slade

I noticed it last night, but figured I was too tired to care about it.

I think it'd be cool if Jesse reset it, though.

er, spring forward, fall backwards....er....!!!

er...why did it take about a month before any one noticed!!!!!

Hey, it really is almost 6 AM. Even though I live in EST :cookie:

Just go into your UserCP and change it to the timezone that's an hour behind.

That's what I had to do.

I guess I never paid much attention to the fact there even was a server clock

Posted by Linkman

The PHP commands get the times and dates from the clock on the server, just like Windows programs that record dates and times for whatever reason use the clock on your PC.

What's the big deal? My clock has always been about 6 hours off the one on VGC, and it hasn't bugged me that much.

You're not normal!!! :D

I use my computer clock anyway. I don't even look at the forum clock.
