Raymond Scott

Anyone else a fan of this man's work? I bet most people here would recognize a lot of his music even if you don't know who he is. He was a 1930s jazz composer and band leader, who wrote what he called "descriptive jazz". Basically the songs were given weird titles, and the music reflected what that scenerio might sound like. Awhile later, Warner Brothers wanted to purchase the rights to all his music, and Scott sold it to them. So they became part of pretty much every Looney Tunes episode ever, even though he never actually intended to write music for cartoons. So yeah, you'd probably recognize a lot of his music from old cartoons. If not, you should check it out anyway, because it kicks ***. I'll post a few songs in the Upload thread in a little bit. Listen to "Powerhouse", "The Penguin", "War Dance for Wooden Indians", and "In an 18th Century Drawing Room" if you can. They rock.
