Why don't Jedi just make longer lightsabers?
Why does bowser put an axe next to the bridge he is fighting on?
Why are elves considered a seperate species, yet they look pretty much exactly the same as humans?
Why add a pistol to Medal of Honor, when a sniper rifle is much more effective at close range?
Why do grenades have to sit where they hit the ground for just long enough for the enemy to get away before they explode?
Why can't superheroes destroy enemies on contact, like any villain can?
Why do Ghost Pokemon evolve, if they're already dead?
Why does the Enterprise always take huge engine damage for simpily doing what it was designed to do?
Why doesn't Samus just get a cell phone?
Why do Stormtroopers even bother wearing armor, when it doesn't do jack squat in battle?
Why does the "No Icon" button under "Post Icons" even exist, since it just uses the icon next to it?
WHY?
because science fiction doesn't care about science fact.
or because PLOT DEVICE.
Who cares?
It is because entertainment does not have to make sense.
Why do you have Waldo spinning in your avatar?
Ghost pokemon aren't dead. There are ghosts of pokemon, like the one in Lavender town, that was dead. However, a ghost pokemon is categorized by the setting they choose to live in (graveyards, empty spookyish buildings) and their biological features.
Why is life like a hurricane, here in Duckberg?

Why do Star Wars lasers never go at light speed?
Why is Kevin J. Anderson such a bad writer?

Star Wars blaster shots aren't lasers, they are blasts of energy.
Lightsabres cast shadows in some of the movies because as the time of filming George Lucas did not have real-life working lightsabres.
Is the Starship Enterprise ever not slightly broken at any point?
Its usually running at a very high pecentage, but nothing is ever really 100%. most of the time its at like 99%ish.
Why doesn't Wily just make a boss door lead into a room littered with spikes?
Why are the Space Pirates' eyes on fire?
Why can you still die after killing Death?
*Awaits that whole 'physical manifestation' explanation, and "It's just a video game, quit thinking into it so much"*
Starwars.com:
The standard ranged weapon of both military personnel and civilians in the galaxy, the blaster pistol fires cohesive bursts of light-based energy called bolts.
OH SHI-
And also try explaining Turbolasers.
You just proved my point there, it's not lasers but light-based energy. Turbolasers are just a name, it's the same kind of thing.
Maybe it's kinetic or heat energy.
****IT I JUST REPLIED TO A DISCUSSION OF STAR WARS PHYSICS.
The degree of coherency of the EM waves has no effect on their speed. All amssless particles must travel at the speed of light.
They're blasts of energy that give off light, that's it. They've even gone so far to say that the energy itself travels slightly ahead of the bolt, whatever the hell that means.
Star Wars isn't Star Trek, it isn't based on real physics/theories. It's science fantasy, not science fiction.
This is also why Star Wars VS Star Trek arguements are bunk, it all depends entirely on which universe you're talking about. Star Trek ships would get overcome by the made-up physics (and general cool factor) in the Star Wars universe, Star Wars ships wouldn't even function in ours.

Why do adult-film directors always put ugly guys in porn?
Why does sunshine on your shoulders make you happy and not sunburnt?
Why should we do the zombie stomp?
Why did they put the "bop" in the "bop-sha-bop?"
Why did the dinosaurs die?

We also would have accepted "because you touch yourself at night" and "Because your mom"
lol? Star Trek was never based on real physics/theories. Just ebcause you make up a whole string of technical-sounding words (telekinetic biophreniform mass impeller relay system - I can do it too!) doesn't mean it's scientifically correct.
As far as I know it's actually based on scientific theory, as opposed to being entirely made up with complete disregard for physics, a la Star Wars.
It is based on several insubstantiated theories, and they are all coherent and don't conflict, unlike Star Wars.
WHY DO FOOLS FALL IN LOVE?

So as not to distract from the girl getting banged, of course!
1 Same principle as real swords: Longer = harder to swing, like the Claymor: If you don't kill everyone in 10 feet in one or two swings, you're dead.
2 He's an arrogant prick?
3 They live longer and are more in tuned with magic and nature. pshhh
4 Because a pistol is harder to snipe with if you use all your sniper ammo at close range.
5 They can usually be cooked, all you need than is the ability to count to 4 and you're set!:D
6 They can but they won't... because good is dumb
7 Because they're not actually dead, they're living species' with the properties of a stereotypacle ghost.
8 Because everyone in the future supposedly works as a whole for the greater good of man. To many "feel good" meetings and too few astromechanics meetings.
9 The signal could either be traced by the Space Pirates or rival Bounty Hunters. It may also attract the Cell-Phone Metroid... heaven forbid she need face the dreaded Cell Phone Metroid.
10 Because they're doing evil things and they don't want people to recognize them. And besides, what evil organization would be complete without a large army of sub par minions adorning cool outfits?
11 You got me there.
And as for the title of the thread:
Star Destroyers fall where they're defeated because they're arteficial gravity generators and enershal dampeners lose control and pull them towards the nearest source of strong gravity... so there.
Well that was lame.
And btw, the purpose of using the pistol is because it has a higher fire rate than the "one-shot-cock-back" sniper (pending on which sniper, however) oh, and the crosshair thing.
But since in Call of Duty pistols do as much damage as a wooden stick and the sniper rifle does the equivalent of a tank round, nobody in their right mind would try to use a pistol in that game. I think pistols were just added as noob fodder, sort of like the terribly ineffective physical attack.
