Posted by Vampiro V. Empire

Yeah, TC got exactly what I expected. It's really the only launch game I want to play.

Posted by Bebop

Ive got Trauma for the DS so Im not really interested in it for Wii. Good score though. And also Wii Sports getting good scores and being free is very nice!

Posted by TendoAddict

Wii sports is fine by me, for a free game it does what it's supposed to do. I have no doubt other developers will perfect these sports on the Wii.

Trama got whats I exspected.

Shoot, and there was about a full day where my respect for you went up, too.

You know it's a sequel right?

Posted by Dexter

That was an excellent Monkey Ball review. I'm still not sure if I'll get it since I already have a previous Monkey Ball game and it probably offers much of the same, but we'll see. Sounds like it would be the most promising Monkey Ball game.

Quoting Vampiro V. Empire: You know it's a sequel right?

It's a remake Vamp. Theres some new missions but I dont think its worth spending another 40 quid for 4 new missions.

Posted by Ant

I've never played the DS version, so I'm kinda interested in this game. But they said it's fairly short. So I'll probably pick up later when it's cheap, or perhaps as a rental.

Call of Duty 3. What the ****? It got a 7.0 in graphics, whereas Wii Sports got a 4.0? From what I've seen so far, COD3 looks like crap.
Man, i wonder what they'll give red steel... Why can't people make a perfect FPS? Just use some common sense?

Posted by Bebop

WHAT? Cull of Duty 3 doesnt even have offline multi? What the crap!
Visuals have improved though.
Old
New

Posted by Drewboy64

Yeah, no multiplayer sucks. The singleplayer should be really intense and amazing, but I see no reason why they should leave the other stuff out.
edit: it's weird, it seems good in some videos/screens like the ones you posted, but IGN had a video where you were wrestling with a soldier, and it looked AWEFUL.

Posted by Kit

I've seen some Trauma Centre videos already, I think it looks quite interesting, so I'm hoping to find it at launch. I've played Call of Duty, and Call of Duty: Finest Hour, I don't play Finest Hour too much and only played the first game online, but haven't in a long time. It might be odd playing with the Wiimote, but it could be fun.
I actually saw Wii Sports as a way to help me get used to using the Wiimote at first, but it seems that there's some fun in it too. I'm glad it's free.

Excite Truck, unlike the 6.8 at gamespot, got a good score.

If you honestly think Call of Duty 3 is less than three points above Wii Sports in the graphical department then you are profoundly retarded and I would like some kind of reward for discovering and capturing this phenomenon.

Meh, COD3 is less simplistic, but wii sports is so clean, crisp and smooth.

Are you kidding me? ****, the only game I actually wanted at launch...

And there's no debate. CoD3 looks far better than Wii Sports.

Posted by Speedfreak

Actually...I'm with Drewboy on this one, I think Wii Sports has nice graphics. All the textures and shadows are very crisp. It certainly doesn't look ugly, unless you really hate the Miis on principle. COD3 doesn't look that great, because it makes low polygon counts and crappy textures really obvious.

If you can't find a good launch game for Wii other than Trauma Center then you have to be some kind of retard, or at least have the worst taste in games ever. Or not have friends.

Posted by Pit

im not even getting wii at launch because there's nothing interesting at all.

Posted by Ant

If Zelda wasn't coming out I'd probably feel the same way. :) But Mario and Smash are Q1 of 07, so it's not like either of those titles are really that far away either.

k, let's take a look at the launch titles:

The Ant Bully
Avatar: The Last Airbender
Barnyard

Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII
Call of Duty 3

Cars
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2
Elebits
Excite Truck

Far Cry: Vengeance
The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy
GT Pro Series
Happy Feet

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Madden NFL 07
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance
Metal Slug Anthology

Monster 4x4 World Circuit
Need for Speed: Carbon
Open Season
Rampage: Total Destruction
Rapala Tournament Fishing

Rayman Raving Rabbids
Red Steel
SpongeBob SquarePants: Creature from the Krusty Krab

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent
Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam
Trauma Center: Second Opinion
WarioWare: Smooth Moves
Wii Sports
World Series of Poker

Underlined is what I don't give a **** about, bold is what I've either played or owned. So much of that is absolute garbage, or ports, or just so bland and uninteresting I couldn't care no matter how much I try. The ones I DO want to play I wouldn't spend 300 bucks on. Sorry I couldn't find anything interesting in that amazing line-up.

Posted by Bebop

Truama Center is an enhanced Wii-Make apparantly. I'm going to get it. Aside from the remade missions there are whole new missions too. Like organ transplants. Also theres new tools like a diffibulator. I think grabbing the controllers, charging them and pressing them onto a body to save them seems pretty cool. I never finished the DS version but theres more to Trauma Center than a straight port.

Posted by Vampiro V. Empire

All right, that's pretty cool. I want it again.

Posted by Bebop

That was like it for me. Before I knew about the new stuff I wasnt interested. I was pretty sold on the diffibulator to be honest. I was joking with my friend that he can be my 'nurse'. The nunchuck is used to select tools so he can hold that and 'pass' me tools when I need them. Also to use the tweeers you press A on the remote and B underneath. It apparantly feels like your squeezing the tweezers. Or something.

Posted by Vampiro V. Empire

Which is exactly why I want to play it. The controls actually make sense and do something really unique. Down the road, I have a feeling most Wii games will be like that... rather than just point and click. Which I'm not knocking, but it's just not as creative.

Posted by Dexter

I appreciate the Wii line-up. Zelda and Red Steel are definitely cool with me and I've never even played Trauma Center for the DS, so I should give that a chance, too. Monkey Ball is still a good possibility with me. And like Ant said, there are many great games coming out that aren't that far away from release.

Posted by Drewboy64

Zelda alone makes the line-up good, but games like Excite Truck and Raving Rabbids and such are also good.

Posted by Drewboy64

Raving Rabbids

Posted by Vampiro V. Empire

Yeah, knew that **** would be pretty good.

Posted by Angerion the Brave

Let's be completely honest about things here. ALL the "realistic war simulation" FPS games out there have ALWAYS had sloppy, harsh graphics. They've only been adding new missions and occasionally giving the characters actual fingers instead of a thumb, a trigger finger and one large third finger (which CoD3 did not take the liberty to make.)

And while we're being honest, blowing the cheese cake out of semi real looking bad-guys in realistic environments still is a ton of fun.:D

Where is this information coming from!

Posted by Ant

That's what I've always heard, perhaps Q2 latest.

As for Rayman, eh. The idea of a bunch of minigames sounds semi-interesting, but I don't see myself loving it all that much. Still waiting for a review on Red Steel to see if it all came together well.

Posted by Bebop

I played some Wii Sports today and it was absolutely smashing. I only played Tennis, Golf and Bowling but trhey really were better than I expected.

Posted by GameMiestro

This launch lineup looks pretty bad, but the DS didn't that stunning of a lineup either, and it turned out okay. Have faith, comrades!

Posted by Dexter

The Wii's launch lineup is better than the 360s or PS3s launch lineups by far, in my opinion. There seems to be a decent game to match anyone's particular taste. I'm quite satisfied with the launch games and it won't be long until other great games are available.

Posted by TendoAddict

It seems like all the Titles people actually care about are turning out good. All are above 8 (which is my and alot of peoples bar in quality) and the reviews have only good things to say about the wii and its games.

Posted by Dexter

Zelda is a guaranteed win. There are plenty of enjoyable multiplayer games available. We have Red Steel for the FPS fans. We got some unique games like Elebits. etc

There's nothing wrong with this launch. It's an normal list.

Resistance: Fall of Man - Sony
Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom - Sony
Genji: Days of the Blade - Sony
Gran Turismo HD - Sony
NBA 07 - Sony
Call of Duty 3 - Activision
Marvel Ultimate Alliance - Activision
Tony Hawk’s Project 8 - Activision
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Bethesda Softworks
Fight Night 3 - Electronic Arts
Madden NFL 07 - Electronic Arts
NBA Live 07 - Electronic Arts
Need for Speed Carbon - Electronic Arts
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 - Electronic Arts
Mobile Suit Gundam: Target In Sight - Namco Bandai
Ninja Gaiden Sigma - Namco Bandai
Ridge Racer 7 - Namco Bandai
Full Auto 2: Battlelines - Sega
Sonic the Hedgehog - Sega
NBA 2K7 - Take-Two Interactive
NHL 2K7 - Take-Two Interactive
Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII - Ubisoft
Rainbow Six: Vegas - Ubisoft
F.E.A.R. - Vivendi

I'd rather have the first five titles on this list then the entire Wii lineup. If you're trying to convince me that the Wii launch list is superior, you're going to lose...

Posted by Bebop

I agree with Dex. The Wii launch line up is easily better than that of 360 or PS3. For me the games Im most excited about are either launch day available or in the launch window. Such as Zelda, Red Steel, Wii Sports, Wario Ware, Super Monkey Ball, Trauma Centre, Metal Slug, Elebits and even Far Cry. 360s launch was probably the worst. Even though it had Call of Duty 2 it certainly woukldnt justify getting a console just for that, especially at that price.

Posted by Dexter

Resistance: Fall of Man and Ninja Gaiden Sigma interest me the most on that list, but they still don't compare to Zelda and Red Steel.

And the 360 launch lineup looked great until I actually got the games and was severely disappointed, mostly by Perfect Dark. Call of Duty 2 was the best 360 game up until Call of Duty 3 came out just the other week.

And he's gonna lose because, er, you like the games for the Ps3 more then the Wii?

Yay Personal Opinion?

Zelda just got reviewed at Gamespot, they didn't even give it a 9.

http://www.gamespot.com/events/wiilaunch/story.html?sid=6161993&pid=928519&tag=topslot;action;1

Posted by nich

I don't understand how you can give Wind Waker a 9.3, Tony Hawk 3 a 10 and twilight princess an 8.8, seems strange to me.

Posted by Axis

His reasoning for not giving it a good score is complete bullcrap.

Posted by Ant

Probably just some faggot who's trying to be "edgy". Regardless, I haven't used Gamespot for years due to their horrible reviews and lack of updates on anything Nintendo related. Now if IGN gave it an 8.8, than I would be a bit more inclinded to take it serious.

Posted by nich

I don't know, his opinions about the controls feeling "tacked on" were just how I imagined they'd feel. Also, 8.8 is still pretty good.

Posted by Axis

Of course, it's not going to stop me from buying a Wii and Zelda.

Posted by nich

Nor I.

Posted by Ant

STOPPED ME! I'M GONNA GO BUY ME AN XBOX360 AND GEARS OF WAR NOW! YEAAAAAAAAAAAAEEEEEEHHHHHHEEEEEHHHHHHHEEEEEHHHHHH!

Posted by Ant

Matt at IGN gave it a 9.5 respectively, apparently. Pretty much what I expected.

Posted by Vampiro V. Empire

Yeah, if anyone would give it a high score it would be Matt. Most of his **** seems pretty fair too. At this point I'm pretty sure GS likes to lower the score of really hyped games to make their reviews seem... I don't know actually.

Posted by Dexter

...as if they know something we don't or their taste is of higher quality or something like that.

Posted by Axis

Red Steel - 5.5 from Gamespot.

PS, Nintendo Power gave Zelda a 9.5, and 1-Up gave it a 10. Wow, apocalypse.
