So, who else is stoked about this one?
I watched a thing on Comedy Central with a lot of scenes that were deleted, and it's freaking funny as all hell.
Does anyone know if it is real? All the people he is ****ing off, are they actors? Or is he actually doing these things to people that he doesn't know? And if so, I'm sure they get a release afterward because otherwise, I think they'd have to blur the faces.
Either way, this movie looks promising. I'll probably be there opening night.
Its all real. None of them are actors. He has to do it to alot of older people because they wouldn't recognize him. I remeber in Dallas, TX, he was hitchiking as Borat and the people that picked him up knew exactly who he was and they had to delete the scene from the show.
Man, you're so cool raptor. you're so totaly fukken awesome that it makes me crap my pants lol luuuuuuuuuuv u
I'm looking forward to it as well. Ive seen a few of the traliers (check youtube etc) and it looks amazing.
COME SEE MY MOVIE. IF YOU DONT, I WILL BE EXECUTE!
None of them are actors.
Are you sure? I was pretty positive there were a few scripted scenes in the film.
Yeah, there are a few scenes that have to have been scripted.
I just got back from seeing this movie.
You all need to go watch it. It was so good that about 6 people got up and left during the naked hotel room fight scene. That's the mark of a quality film.
Seriously, go see this movie. You'll laugh your fargain arse off.
That scene was disturbing to a level that only the internet can match.
Its an awesome movie. I'm pretty sure most of it is real. The only thing I can think of that would HAVE to have been scripted was the scene spoilers
where he tries to abduc pamela anderson. Trying something like that without prior approval would have gotten him arrested.
I suspect this is going to get very mixed reactions in the US. It's not really American style humour and of course, they're also the targets of the jokes.
Opens here in a week or two.
The scenes with his friend are scripted just for movie progression. I thought the movie was really, really funny. I wasn't expecting much, but I think it was the blatant racism and prejudice that got me. It was so offensive that I just had to laugh.
Poor Pam must've been in shock when she was told the news. :(
It was very funny. Problem is, working at a cinema, I had seen many of the scene before so it was somewhat ruined for me.
I just found out Pam new about the scene with Cohen (the actor) taking place during her signing and she agreed to do it. The catch was she didn't know what was going to happen.
Yeh thats true. They are friends apparntly. Had Pam not known anything about it Borat would have been captured immediately and beatun up. If you watch it again notice that one of the body guards lets him run past him (when hes chasing her) through the store.
I saw it last night, and before watching it, I had no clue what it was about. It took a few things much farther than most movies released in the theaters do here. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in a theater before. :/
One of the best parts for me was the reactions of all the old people in the theater. Whenever things got really "offensive," they were laughing the hardest. I think this was the first time I appreciated having an audience of people around me.
I saw this movie a few days ago. I could hardly stop laughing.
I hear they attempted the Pam scene once before but got into a lot of trouble. Cohen got her to drop charges and make a new scene.
I left the theatre when Cohen and his fat friend started wrestling naked in the hotel room.
Probably the funniest movie to be ever created. The show alone was hilarious, but when I saw this... amazed I was.
I thought my dad was going to leave, or at least be upset about it, but he was laughing pretty hard about how crazy the whole movie was afterwards.
It was more like him singing about another country period.
Im pretty sure potassium was a big factor too. We all know its 'America's favorite breakfast'.
Seriously though, someone not singing Americas national anthem isnt a valid reason to boo him like the way they did.
Uh, they didnt really boo him very much. Sure, they werent cheering much when he started to say things like "may bush drink the blood of your enemies", but they still diudnt really get too mad.
Did you watch the same film as me? As soon as his started singing his version of the national anthem there was uproar. People were booing and looking on in disgust. For some reason.
Looked more like they were confused and weirded out to me.
then the horse fell over and it was all laughter
Some "Looked more like they were confused and weirded out", others looked outrage (like the announcer)
But it sounded like booing to me. I work in a cineam and pretty much see that scene everytime Im there. They were booing.
Looking forward to seeing this film, based on what I've heard here. I'm going in about an hour.
I couldn't believe that he actually did that thing with the National Anthem. That's a good way to get yourself killed in many parts of the country.
The best part about that sequence was the guy who was explaining that he ought to shave his moustache to avoid looking like a terrorist.
Ahaha, the rodeo guy was telling him that they were trying to hang gays in America.
I think Cohen actually was told to leave during the anthem since some of those rodeo folk carried guns.
It's funny that Borat told the guy in his country, they hang people for being gay.
Did anyone see Cohen's response to what the Kazhakstani Ministry of Information had to say about "Borat"?
He, in his Borat character (of course), says that he fully supports his government's decision to "Sue that Jew" (referring to himself).
I hope if he does another movie, I hope it's Ali G and not Bruno. I never really liked Bruno that much. Ali and Borat are WAYYYYYYYY funnier.
It's weird because he was totally serious. He was actually saying that gay people ought to be hanged. Even conservative jerk-off pundit types like Rush Limbaugh wouldn't say a thing like that. It's so bizzare to think that there are still quite a few people in countries like the USA who believe that gays need to be hanged, and that someone who has dark hair, a moustache and an accent fits the profile of an Islamic terrorist.
I agree completely. Whats worse is the guy so no problem with saying it in front of a live camera. He thought he was doing Borat a favour!
The drunk, sexist frat boys were the best. They probably dropped out after people saw the movie.
I heard about it on the news like two nights ago.
That national anthem scene was completely edited. When they're supposed to be booing him off the stage, watch the audience in the background. They're just standing there looking bemused. There's no way it happened the way it's portrayed.
Actually, Cohen had to be escorted out of the stadium because some of the audience members had guns.
There were so many things funnier than the bear in the truck. :(
Oh, he did it. It just didn't happen the way it was shown.
Saw it two days ago. Funniest movie I've seen in awhile. I almost died laughing with the hotel scene. I rarely laugh as much as I did with that part.
this movie was amazing
simple amazing
Saw it this Friday, and I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in a theater. Especially when he's jacking off to the manicans out in public.
Glorious movie for make laugh!
Yeah, so I guess the producers did lead a lot of those people and tell them what they expected them to do. I'd bet that they spoke with the owner of that Antique store before that bit because chances are, the owner would've called the cops when all that happened.
And those three college kids are suing for what they were instructed to say and how the film makes them look.
Yeah, the Frat Boys one is ridiculous though. They claim they were plied with alcohol to get them to act dumb. Have you ever seen people that look LESS like they needed to be plied with alcohol?
"Don't ever, ever let a woman... make you who you are."
Yeah, that wasn't scripted.
I've also paid close attention to the booing rodeo scene simply to prove Bebop wrong, and there's not a single person in the background of that shot booing anyone.
i finally! saw this the other day, borat is a freakin genius!
I figured it out. What's actually happening is that all of the screens in the cinema I work at were sneakily replaced with giant mirrors, meaning that during that screen I was actually watching the audience.
Find it on YouTube or something, for God's sake. Even if there are a few, the point is that the soundtrack reel was edited to make it seem worse than it really was, you xenophobic fuck.
