Posted by Proto ManOk, apparently some people don't know about this game, as I found out in another thread.
Nintendo has been working on a new Kirby game. They have been quiet about it, but if you check out [URL="http://www.nintendo.com/gameminiav?gameid=815190c2-b1c7-4e51-bbaf-aa11dbfb74a9"]here[/URL], there is actual footage to be seen, and it looks really sweet!
What is even more sweet is that after being absent from Kirby 64, the helper system is being brought back! Thats right, and it's going to be the same system from Super Star to boot! Meaning no Gooey from Kirby's Dreamland 3, but the helper will look like the actual enemy like in Kirby Super Star! There is more, the game appears to be FOUR PLAYERS! One person as Kirby, the other three helpers! Which is pretty sweet! This game is like a dream come true. The game still has no release date, but AS OF NOW, it is still coming to GCN.
So far this is what Nintendo says about the storyline:
Quoting Nintendo: Kirby’s first full-scale action game for Nintendo GameCube arrives with a variety of modes, including a wild multiplayer adventure. The story begins when Kirby sets out to get the stolen Warpstar back from King Dedede.
It’s tough going for Kirby when he’s on his own ... so it’s a good thing he can catch a ride on the backs of his helpers. Utilizing a new attack system, Kirby can gain power by riding on up to three helpers. The more helpers, the more powerful the attack. It’s up to Kirby to save the beautiful world of Dream Land.
Kinda simple, but maybe there will be more to it like in the other games. I hope that in this game that they would explain more stuff about the characters, especially Meta Knight.

Kirby Air Ride was originally meant for the N64, but was delayed (or cancelled, rather) and then made for the GCN. Now this new Kirby game, originally meant for GCN, is being moved to Wii.

Ok, now that you mention that, I do remember reading something about it. But that was the only time that happened. All the other Kirby games that were planned for their respective consoles were released for them.

Yes yes, I think I read that on Wikipedia.
As long as Nintendo's website says it's for GCN though, I am going with that. It may be false hope, but hey it's something. I don't want ALL the good games being shoved over to Wii.

Why? The GC is long dead. Plus, as someone said, it's easier to trust someone like IGN when Nintendo are a little slow at updating their own site.
Anywho, if this is anywhere close to as fun as Shards was, I'm so buying it. Though, let's just hope it's a bit longer.

Actually, Kirby's Adventure was released two years after the SNES, and Kirby's Dream Land 3 was released one year after the N64. Plus, they weren't even compatible with the next gen systems of that day! At lest if it were on GCN it wouldn't matter because Wii people could play it too, and the people who AREN'T getting Wii right away can play something new as well.
I actually thought Super Star was more fun than Shards. The only thing I actually liked about Shards was the fact you could combine abilities to make super abilities. As for Kirby's Dream Land 3, that was fun, but again, I liked Super Star the best. KDL3's weapons were too simple.

Posted by SKirby Super Star is what made Kirby cool to me. This looks great, however, if you are "riding" on someone else's back... it seems like its not a side scroller or 3-D based action, more of a racing almost. That's a big turn-off for me.

Huh? It's not racing... it's more of a 2 1/2D side scrolling like Kirby Crystal Shards was. But it appears to have the action of Super Star as well and more, which makes it so sweet.
