I need some suggestions for the most outrageously cute and cuddly animes. I need them to be decent for children, but still be semi-interesting for adults. I just got through with the entire Galaxy Angel series and me and the girls had plenty of laughs with that, but now I'm looking for something even cuter, more sugary. I want gumdrop giggles galore and goofy, buoyant music. Bring on the suggestions so I can get started. Thankies. ^_-
Too bad I can't suggest any more of that type of anime. I did have fun with Cardcaptor Sakura, though.
Tokyo Pig should be a good one. Actually, it's the only anime I ever watch, but it's fun.

Samurai Pizza Cats
Here's a sugary anime. (lol pun)
You could buy the collection. It's much cheaper than buying all discs. You could go with the movie, too, but I'm not sure how serious it is in comparison to the series.
Mao-Chan. 3 little girls must save Japan from Cute Aliens because that's all the Defense Force budget will allow for. By the same creator as Love Hina.
Matantei Loki Ragnarok.
By the way, keep in mind that Tokyo Pig is pretty bizzare. I mainly got into it for its psychedelic aspects... But I think it would really appeal to smaller children, so that's cool you're trying it out at least. But be forewarned! It's pretty weird!
Kaleido Star.

It's a cute anime about a girl who joins the worlds most popular circus. Very good hearted anime and good for all ages. One of my favorites, actually.
Ah, I actually have Kaleido Star on my Netflix list. I read a little about it awhile back and I got interested. I'll bump it up on my list and I'll probably see it sometime this next week.
I really like Elf's Bride a lot ............. its was really cute.
UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie is pretty cute. It's got a heaping boatload of nudity in it, too.
I would say
Princess Tutu (I have seen bits and pieces of it and it is pretty cute)
Saint Tail
Sailor Moon (common one)
Fancy Lala
Magical Meow Meow Taruto
Fruits Basket
Mew Mew Power (better known as Tokyo Mew Mew)
Wedding Peach
Corrector Yui
and some others that I have to find.
Loveless is a pretty good manga, I dont know if theres an anime for it
I watched volume 2 of A Little Snow Fairy Sugar. Sadly, there wasn't much development with the character I'm most intrigued with, Greta, but the main character, Saga, became much more interesting. It explored her past with her mother and her struggle with becoming more like her at the expense of poor little Sugar. They suffered through a dramatic episode together so their friendship is now super strong and fabulously cute! Waffo! We're sure to finish the entire series this week. Looking forward to it.
I found the anime Loveless. It's only a three disks series from 2005. It's filled with positive reviews, so I've added it to my list of animes to see.
I don't know if they ever released Mini-Goddesses as a stand-alone series, but there were a couple of episodes of it attatched to various DVDs of Ah! My Goddess. Kind of similar to Welcome to Lodoss Island, the second part of which appeared on Record of Lodoss: Chronicles of the Heroic Knight. Chibi versions of animes they accompanied. Very funny, and very cute.
Just finished volume 3 of A Little Snow Fairy Sugar. Greta is still the best. Her theme music sounds better each time her snotty-self emerges. I love how fragile and lonely she truly is, yet how unapproachable and sophisticated she acts. One of the highlights of volume 3, however, were not the characters themselves, but the music of the series. The piano played a major role in this volume and s very enjoyable.
We found something amazing in the bonus features, which we are still watching. They are showing off the actual German town called Rothenburg that inspired the town for the show and it's actually a place my sister and I have gone to before while we were exploring Germany. There was something familiar about the town all along, but I never thought much of it until now. I thought that coincidence was fairly intriguing.
Azumanga Daioh is probably the best comprimise - it's funny enough for adults and quirky/slapstick enough for kids to enjoy. Fruits Basket might be good too, but you'd need to see if you'd think the last few episodes would scare the children you intend to show it to. It may/may not be apropriate for the children depending on how mature they are.
Oh yeah, Azumanga Daioh. I remember wanting to watch that. All 6 volumes will definitely be put on the list tonight.
We watched volume 2 of Mao Chan. I like the A Little Snow Fairy Sugar series better, but this is still justly cute. The adorability reaches a point that I can't imagine many people being able to tolerate. I think the older girls are now immune, which is great.
Tonight is volume 4 of A Little Snow Fairy Sugar. I hope there's more development with Greta's character.
Watched volume 4 of A Little Snow Fairy Sugar. I can't help myself, with each volume, I grow to love this series more. Each time that theme song starts I want to dance more. It's just an incredibly cute and fun anime. The music makes it so much more fun. Wonderfully fitting piano pieces complimenting the story and emotions. All the different variations of "Sugar Baby Love" make me want to learn it on the piano. Music's an important element to the story, too. All the main characters, except for my favorite, Greta, plays a different instrument. The fairies play them to express their talent and of course Saga plays the piano beautifully just like her mother. Magical music, indeed.
And that Q turtle in love with the dove was so adorable. Q-Q-Q-Q-QUTE!
Only two more volumes left. I'm going to be so sad when it's all over. There had better be some Greta development before it's too late!
show the kids Kakurenbo that will have them up all night, i'm joking, but really would tokyo mew mew( furry rip off of sailor moon) be considered a "Extremely cutely, sugar-filled anime ?"
I've never heard of Tokyo Mew Mew. I'll look into it.
We finished volumes 5 and 6 of A Little Snow Fairy Sugar, completing the series. I'm a little sad to see it end for it was exactly what I was looking for when I created this thread. Thanks Zeta for the suggestion, even if you were just teasing about it. It was heartfelt and appropriate and fun for kids, too. I cried during the flashback when Saga finally remembered meeting a snow fairy, whom we are left to assume was Sugar's mom. I like to think it was. Facial similarities (we paused it so we could see her better) and especially clothing similarities.
I was, however, a little disappointed in Greta's conclusion. Her development went semi-well and she was tied into the story in a important way, but her story ended much like it started, with her still having a snobbish attitude and lack of companionship. I would have been happier for her if she was left in a happy state with some friends like she truly wanted, but instead she's simply left with a torn sleeve and no one to listen to her play the piano. Oh well.
Time to finish up the Mao Chan series! yay! ^_^
I have the Box, Vol. 1, 2, 4... so I'm missing the other 3. Best darn purchases I could make.
I watched Volume 1 and 2 again and STILL laughed my arse off to the floor. Probably even moreso since I understand a few things better.
I have a very good MANGA reccomendation for you, sorry >< But it's called KamiChamaKarin, it is not yet anime, I wish it was.
Hm. Anime anime anime..AHA! Animal Yokocho I apologize for not finding the proper opening for this anime, but here's Episode 1 part 1, with opening. ^^ I found it very adorable. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WayR3X-QslM
We finished the final/entire Mao-Chan series. The final episode is always so said, saying the goodbyes, wondering if I'll ever see the characters again. It was an endearing final episode, too, with all the cute aliens in the Cute Zoo. Yuriko Oozora ended up being a more fun, helpful character. Thanks again, Prince Shondronai, for the great suggestion. I liked A Little Snow Fairy more, but this was still very cute.
So tonight the girls and I are going to start with our next anime series Kaleido Star!!! Very excited about this series. This was suggested to us by Sapphire Rose. I don't know much about his taste, but I have faith that this series will be amusing and lots of fun. After this series we have it planned to move onto Azumanga Daioh. And we have the last volume of Fruits Basket for Saturday night.
Watched the first volume of Kaleido Star. We loved it. I wasn't sure what we were getting ourselves into at first, but by the end of the first episode, I knew we were in for a treat. The challenges. The determination. The motivations of each character. It's enough to put a smile on my face and tears in my eyes. I hope Sapphire Rose isn't the only member here who appreciates this anime.
Actually, I used to like it, I kinda got bored with it on episooode..I think it was 16. I love the little puppet-doll (My memory forgets his name, I apologize)
Oh, that doll is so much fun! His name is Fool. Very intelligent and sophisticated. I wish Sora Naegino would learn to accept him, but I have a feeling she won't until she truly learns to accept herself, since he is essentially there to treat her like the chosen one she is. I don't think she's ready to accept that, either because she doesn't believe in herself quite enough or it would be too much for her if she failed. I think one of the realizations she
Well, glad to hear that you like this anime, even though it wasn't exactly my taste, let me say this: You'll be surprised at all the twists coming up after episode 14. Har.
But indeed, enjoy it. Are you watching the English version or the Japanese one?
Just show them Elfen Lied, scar them for life, and then get into all of the good anime.
HAH! I want to show Elfen Lied to our anime club (Yes, I am a nerd, what of it?) But I doubt the school would let us..Even though they let us watch the UNCUT version of The Boondocks but whatever.
Just finished volume 3 of Kaleido Star, getting us half-way through it. Well, kinda. We all agreed that it is good enough so far to move on to the second season after we finish all 6 volumes of the first, which means we won't get to Azumanga Daioh for awhile yet. It would be a total of 11 volumes for the Kaleido Star series. I don't know how many hours that is, but it certainly does take up a lot of time watching these animes.
Not that I'm complaining. The time we've been sharing watching these has been wonderful. We're always looking forward to what happens next.
Funny aspect I've recently noticed about anime. Whenever there's something predictable that is often unbelievable, it somehow convinces you well. For instance, there might be a rivalry that you predict becomes a friendship. You know it's going to happen but you can't imagine the transition between enemies and friends happening in a convincing manner. Then when it finally comes around it does convince you and you're all like "how did they do that?" Anyone else experience this with anime? It happened to me a bunch of times during A Little Snow Fairy Sugar and Fruits Basket.
Also, has anyone got far enough into Kaleido Star to experience the second season? Does it stray away from its familiar aura or does it stay fairly the same? I'm sort of getting ahead of myself here but I'm looking forward to seeing how different it is. So far the series is building up well and instead of losing interest, the series is getting more interesting. We're getting to know the characters better with each episode and we're starting to really cheer things along.
Futakoi!
I'm not sure how easy it is to find a volume of it, so if you do watch it, you might have to full-screen YouTube it. It's only 13 episodes long though. :(
I couldn't find it on DVD and it's difficult for us all to Youtube animes. We prefer to watch them in their entirety on DVDs anyway. There's often problems with Youtube and the quality isn't always that great. It's just not my thing.
The entire first season of Kaleido Star is complete. We finished it yesterday and we're going to start season two tonight!
Not really. Only the first two episodes on volume 1 of New Wings was the re-tellings of what happened. I didn't mind. We actually had a few newcomers watching it so it was good for them to get an idea of everything the characters has gone through. The second season looks to be really good. We'll probably have it finished by the end of next week.
And Rosetta Passel is rad.
