World's Smallest Political Quiz

Posted by Aioros

Here's a quick and rather simple quiz to determine your political party preference. I scored libertarian, but i already knew that.

http://www.theadvocates.org/quiz.html

The political description that
fits you best is...LIBERTARIAN

LIBERTARIANS support maximum liberty in both personal and
economic matters. They advocate a much smaller government; one
that is limited to protecting individuals from coercion and violence.
Libertarians tend to embrace individual responsibility, oppose
government bureaucracy and taxes, promote private charity, tolerate
diverse lifestyles, support the free market, and defend civil liberties.

ACCORDING TO YOUR ANSWERS,

The political description that
fits you best is...

.

LIBERAL

LIBERALS usually embrace freedom of choice in personal

matters, but tend to support significant government control of the

economy. They generally support a government-funded "safety net"
to help the disadvantaged, and advocate strict regulation

of business. Liberals tend to favor environmental regulations,

defend civil liberties and free expression, support government action

to promote equality, and tolerate diverse lifestyles.

Libertarian.

Posted by maian

CENTRISTS espouse a "middle ground" regarding government

control of the economy and personal behavior. Depending on

the issue, they sometimes favor government intervention

and sometimes support individual freedom of choice.

Centrists pride themselves on keeping an open mind,

tend to oppose "political extremes," and emphasize what

they describe as "practical" solutions to problems.

Eh. No surprise to me. I have no real political preference. Apparently, I lean towards Libertarian though.

Ah, Libertarians. Some of these questions are absurdly vague and simplistic (eliminating all barriers to trade for example), and of course it's overly focussed on Libertarian obsessions with tax and welfare, and all written in the loaded terminology they love so dearly. Calling people "Statists" and characterising their scores all as "% of freedom" rather than along a neutral spectrum? Funny stuff.

Any anyways, how can you have a political quiz in this day and age that does NOT MENTION THE ENVIRONMENT AT ALL?

Anyways I'm a liberal, surprise surprise, and I'll refrain from the rant about the perversion of the term that's occurred in America in recent decades. 100% personal freedom, 40% economic. Give me my drugs and my gay sex, but you capitalist pigdog f*ckers can take my government (student) welfare cheque when you pry it from my cold, dead hands. Or, you know, after I graduate.

Anyways, here's a quiz put together by the Australian Liberal Democratic Party, who are our oqn homegrown mostly internet-based Libertarian nutjobs. It's mildly less retarded, a bit more comprehensive even if it still doesn't mention the environment, and I'm pretty sure it's modelled on the American Libertarian one. I'm near the borderline of democratic socialism and liberal democracy.

Political Compass is better though.

Posted by higbvuyb

My results seem to vary between tests, probably because some of them do not have enough questions, or they focus too much on certain issues that I have the opposite stance to, than which I usually have. The Political Compass seems to be rather accurate.
