I was really hoping they would mention something about LAN play. Will two Wiis be able to connect each other wirelessly without a router, just like the DS? That'd make things really nice for eight player mario kart or red steel or something.
I think they confirmed this a long, long time ago, but I could be wrong as I often am.
I've never really thought of this before but I hope it becomes a reality, as it would be great. I can't think of anything said from Nintendo regarding this though.
Battalion Wars II and Mario Strikers Charged were played over LAN at Leipzig. Whether or not it was a simple case of scanning for other Wiis through wifi, however, wasn't confirmed.
