Music Suggestions

Posted by The Judge

I want to start downloading some more music.

I will not accept suggestions from Klarth.

Posted by Ch

Well, what mood are you in?

Posted by Alastor

Might help if you specified what it is in general that you're looking for. ;)

Specify, and I'll pop in some suggestions in the morning before I leave for school.

www.mcchris.com, also www.futurisiticsexrobotz.com, and www.mchawking.com

if there is ANY part of you that accepts your nerdiness, you will like it.

Posted by Ant

ant haet nerd rap.

and I have nothing to suggest that you would like. so blah.

Posted by Lord of Spam

Nerd rap is musical gold.

Posted by The Judge

I'm actually not really a nerd. Big difference between nerd and dork.

And any music is fine. I'll sample them all.

Posted by Phantasma2

Hey Judge, should I make you a zip file of vampiric style music?
Since you said you like Malice Mizer and all.

Posted by The Judge

Just band names and songs will do fine.

Posted by Lord of Spam

You are a big baby with no idea whats good for you

Posted by Klarth

you're a mother ****er, but I'll suggest Tarot anyway because they're VERY similar to Blind Guardian.

Oh, and In Flames! http://youtube.com/watch?v=CgipbAdOZkI

Posted by Stalolin

queen

as it's highly applicable to anyone looking for music

Posted by Roger Smith

Cradle of Filth's Bloody Tears. If you already have it, I recomend you listen to it, play SoTN and masturbate furiously.

If all fails, just listen to some Sublime or Rage.

Two off the top of my head. Top link is an album, bottom link is a song. Go nuts.

Recommending stuff would be much easier if you atleast specified a genre. :(

Naglfar.
Belphegor.
Sargheist.
Legion (swe)
Asmodeus
Moonspell

Anything by Rammstein or Boom Boom Satellites and then you're good to go. Everything else is just optional.

Posted by Klarth

Ordinary Story by In Flames
Leeches by In Flames
You by Tarot
I Rule by Tarot

Posted by The Judge

Klarth, after that fucking remake of Ave Satani, I am never listening to a single song you suggest again unless it's suggested by others as well.

Posted by Klarth

But Fantomas is hilarious :(

Posted by The Judge

Hilariously bad.

Posted by Fate

I listen to alternative rock/techno music with dancing guitars. I'd suggest The Postal Service and Lola Ray. Both are under a label, so no indie stuff. You can find them both on MySpace.

www.myspace.com/thepostalservice
www.myspace.com/lolaray

I also like The Spill Canvas, The Bravery, and Scissor Sisters. The Bravery and the Scissor Sisters are acquired tastes, I think.

Posted by Klarth

But do they have AWESOME RIFFS?

Posted by Lord of Spam

Voodoo and Serano are endorsed highly by corrupt, and hence are awesome.

More so than any faggot **** that klarth posts.

Posted by Fate

SWEET GUITAR RIFFS ARE THE ONLY THINGS THAT MAKE MUSIC WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT

Posted by The Judge

This is not a musical discussion. Just suggest and leave it be. I'll come back after the end of this week and tell you all how much I liked them.

Posted by Klarth

Suck my cock and listen to In Flames. I even posted a video!

Posted by Alastor

All in Artist - Track format because that's the cool way to do it. Gonna throw some mainstream stuff in here since you said that was alright. You can get file any of these from me on AIM.

Alice in Chains - Man in the Box
Devin Townsend - Random Analysis
Dream Theater - As I Am
Flak - Blitzkrieg
Green Carnation - Between the Gentle Small and Standing Tall
Head Control System - Skin Flick
Hinder - Get Stoned
Kaiser Chiefs - I Predict a Riot
Lordi - Hard Rock Hallelujah
Lordi - The Devil is a Loser
Anything by Machinae Supremacy.
...hell, you might even like Masugn.
Nada Surf - Do It Again
Protest the Hero - Blindfolds Aside
Queens of the Stone Age - Tension Head
The Pixies - Where Is My Mind?
The White Stripes - The Hardest Button to Button
Trocadero - Alien Champion
Trocadero - Blood Gulch Blues
Twilightning - Diamonds of Mankind
Waltari - Too Much Emptiness

Posted by Fate

I also suggest Alastor's The White Stripes song.

Posted by Klarth

fell in love with a girl > the rest of their library

Posted by Alastor

Why not both then?

Posted by Vampiro V. Empire

Quoted post: I got a CD of two Matry Friedman's stuff. pretty rockin.

Loudspeaker is pretty good. Chances are that's the one Derick will listen to, since it's the newest.

Anywho, if you need me to send oyu any of the stuff you can't find, hit me up, k? I'm home every day after twelve your time.

Quoted post: Ok well I'm not a black metal fan yet, cuz I'm still trying to get some from vampo, so I'll suggest you some techno stuff:

Spoilers: none of the bands I listed are black metal. Some might be a mix, but that's maybe one or two. I figured he wouldn't like any of it so I avoided all of it.

Posted by Stalolin

belle and sebastian

Posted by Apathetic

Actually klarth is right, In Flames is ****ing good.

Posted by Ant

On this page thus far, the only 2 I like are Machine Supramacy and The Postal Service. The others I've never bothered to listen to

Posted by Fate

At least you liked The Postal Service! That's the best one I suggested. :)

Posted by mis0

Oh, I forgot something really important: Juno Reactor!

Find and get:

Guardian Angel, Pistolero, Giant, High Energy Protons, *** is ***, and Mona Lisa Overdrive. All, of course, by Juno Reactor.

And then seriously consider getting some Rammstein, even though they're mainstream. Zerstoren, Sonne, Ich Will, Du Hast, Moskau, and Wolt Ihr das Bett in Flammen Sehen are my favorites.

Boom Boom Satellites Dive For You, Anthem, Bump Over Hills, etc. All good stuff.

Posted by Stalolin

Actually, since you listen to some mainstream stuff I'd recommend Tool.

Posted by Dreadnought

Hierophant

Void of Silence

The Kovenant

The Legion

Enslaved

1349

Deathspell Omega (especially Si Monvmentvm reqvires)

Wyrd

Windir

To name a few.

Posted by Vampiro V. Empire

He'll like none of those. Especially the funeral doom stuff.

Posted by Slade

Radiohead, Opeth, Chili Peppers. All very mainstream. You'd probably like Tool a lot, too, like Lolin said.

Posted by Vampiro V. Empire

Quoted post: Radiohead, Opeth, Chili Peppers. All very mainstream.

I like how you tossed Opeth in with some of the most mainstream bands in existence.

Posted by Slade

Quoting Vampiro: I like how you tossed Opeth in with some of the most mainstream bands in existence.

Yeah, I just listed my three favorites. I honestly have no clue how mainstream Opeth is, though. I'm the only one for miles who's ever heard of them.

Posted by Stalolin

Opeth is mainstream for metal.

Posted by Vampiro V. Empire

Indeed. But not "very mainstream." That while being included with Radiohead and RHCP seemed odd to me...

Posted by The Judge

Man, if I downloaded everyone's suggestions, I'd have 3 computers full.

Posted by Apathetic

Just buy more space :cookie:

Posted by Alastor

Try some, delete what you don't like, move on to next person's suggestions. I put all of my recommendations in a .zip for your lazy ass, so get on AIM so I can send it.

Posted by Staev

Bela Fleck and the Flecktones = fusion jazz played by the greatest instrumentalists in the world. I'm not even exaggerating. Victor Wooten is the single greatest bass player of all time.

Posted by Apathetic

Delete all the porn and that should cover it judge!

Posted by Dreadnought
He'll like none of those. Especially the funeral doom stuff.

This isn't a LOL POST MUSICKS THAT I LIEK thread. Its a 'suggest music I should listen to' thread. Implicit in my suggestions are the statement 'You should listen to this band, they=good', but not necessarily 'You would like this band'.

lol wut? I have way over 1300 albums on my computer :(

Fusion jazz for the win. Speaking of which, John Zorn for some sweet free jazz action. Can't remember if I listed him.

If you knew me better, you should know that suggesting music I don't like is tantamount to treason. Obviously if I intend to download it and enjoy it, I don't want suggestions for things I should try out (and should being specifically in your definition of what's good for me), I want things I'll like. I'm the average consumer. I want more of the same with a slight enough twist that I don't get bored.
