...wow. This is pretty kickass. Not only was it used on t-shirts, but things like couches and pillows, too. I'm really interested to see where this kind of technology will go in the future.
lol...
...
So eventually I will be able to buy a emo T-shirt with a glowing star/rainbow on it? meh...
That's actually pretty damn cool.
I seriously want to see how far they'll take this.
I want a glowing Mario "M" shirt. =)
If I can get something else than a star or a rainbow before I die, I'd ask for a "make my day" message on it.
The couch/clock thing was particularly neat, I thought. It seems possible to me that they could eventually link it up to your email inbox, and the couch would inform you of any new messages. Why you couldn't just walk over to your computer and check it yourself, I don't know. Why you couldn't also just check a clock or a watch for that matter, but whatever. It's neat as hell.
Well I dont agree with my couch showing the time. I have a clock on my wall and it tells me what time it is. I won't start paying more money for a couch that shows me the time.
but if it shows...I dunno...a pair of tits, I'd probably go for it.
Or you could get a girlfriend and put real tits on your clock-couch. They both work. ;)
Hmm ... I could see them use this is better ways - only us nerds would buy that type of shirt. They should use it to highlight stripes on a jacket or some trendy **** like that if they want to ever make cash.
I could see the potential in animated shirts. Especially for bands and the like.
I can't imagine sitting in a room for very long with a person wearing one of these. It's cool and all, but I can see it getting very annoying very quickly.
OR MAYBE I'M JUST NOT USED TO LIKE, MOVING BILLBOARDS
I'd totally put an animated chick taking it from behind if I was ever able to. The laughs I wouldn't have...
When I clicked on this thread, I just expected some glow-in-the-dark kind of thing without the dark. Animation is a total shock.
...
I want a metool coming in and out of its helmet. NOW.
They could probably make them turn on and off.
****ing badass. I can put my porn on shirts now.
HAHAH
That reminds me of a movie I once saw. You could do the same thing on the t-shirt. It was a neon sign for a hotel "Hotel Coral Essex". With about 5 letters unlit.
Hmm, this is indeed very cool. Although, I can already see them becoming very annoying very fast. Ah well, it'll become normal everyday mundane life soon after :)
...yeah, cell phones that light up and flash like the Las Vegas strip are bad enough, but shirts that animate?
+1 incentive for becoming a hermit in the woods.
They'd be good for pedestrians and bicyclists - especially children, to use at night to greatl;y increase their visibility to motorists. Instead of reflective strips on jackets and clothing, you have superbright LEDs which would be visible at any angle, unlike reflectors. but for "adverts" or animated clothes, pssh, I hope not. That'd really just **** me off.
That couch just put my LED couch to shame :(
That is, pretty awesome.
I actually heard something about this a couple of years ago, didn't think i'd see it so soon.
Aye, awesome.
I can see homosexuals wearing this in parades.
[quote=Misoxeny]but for "adverts" or animated clothes, pssh, I hope not. That'd really just **** me off.
Depends if I was paid to wear one or not.
I'm not paid to look at it though, so I'd still be piss'd.
I was shocked when I saw this too. I can imagine them being annoying to look at after a while, but they still seem fantasic.
Err, how are you supposed to wash them?
I guess you'd have to dryclean them, huh? Good point.
You don't wash them. Philips will develop a technology that keeps your shirts clean 24/7. Count on it.
Or maybe dryclean, idk. The video said something about them behaving just like normal fabric. Time will tell, though.
**** drycleaning. They go in with a normal load or there's nothing revolutionary about it.

not positive on this, but I think that LEDs can survive a wash. Then all they'd have to do is conceal the circuit with waterproof material.
I want one that reads:
Bitches don't know bout my light-emitting fabric shirt.
Soon the we'll see diving competitions with flashy bathing suits 0_o
[QUOTE=Phillips]The products include features that make them practical for daily use. For example, when integrating the Lumalive fabrics into the garment Philips Research has made [B]the parts that can
