It did, but not out of my pocket. My mother's partner bought it for himself in early 2005, then gave it to my mother (who treated it like crap and decided it was old and smelly and broken), so my brother touched it up and now it's mine. I believe it now retails for £900 (roughly $1400 fake sterling I think). The guy's loaded, so I'm extremely grateful :D

I've been jealous of my mother's computers ever since she bought the compaq I inherited in 2003/4. She's always been ahead of me as far as tech goes, and that hurts.

Not jealous. I have a $1100 micro-laptop that's just 12". It's so small, lightweight, and portable that I can take it anywhere. And, built in wifi, 3+ hrs battery, etc.

If I want a big screen, I plug it into my beautiful 24" LCD HDTV which is mounted on the wall right next to where I use my laptop. It's kreig and stuff. You all fail. :)

Nice laptop. I would guess it has a decent graphics card but a lot of the sony laptops Ive seen are pretty anal there.

Get a 19 inch, it's far from too big and makes quite a bit of difference. I'm hoping to get a new desktop PC this winter with a 21 inch widesceen monitor. Should be sweet.

I got a 21" for free a couple years ago, and it's pretty sweet, but it gets blurry sometimes.

I envy my brother and his twenty something inch widescreen Mac laptop and 21" nice monitor he uses with it, too.
