Partitioning Software

Posted by Echo

So now that I've got a new laptop with a nice big hard drive, I wanna partition 10-15 gigs to install Suse 10.1. Of course, I need software to do this, and I'm not buying Partition Magic. Are there any good free/extremely cheap programs to make a partition with? Either ease of use or detailed guides are also appreciated, since I'd rather not screw anything up.

Well keep in mind that repartitioning your drive can be risky even if you do everything correctly. So just make sure you back everything up ahead of time. SUSE should have its own partition utility, as most Linux distributions do, but I could be mistaken. If your drive is brand new and you don't have much on it, it's worth a try using that probably. I can't think of any other free partioning software offhand though. If anyone else knows, give us a shout here. However, I sent you a PM on other "alternative options."
