My computer is hooked into a surround sound system through a series of adaptors and cables. I checked all the connections and everything is secure. Yet yesterday I started to notice problems that were not there before. Frequently during music or sound playback, I experience some form of lag, whether it be through Winamp, a MIDI player, or streaming from online. It's minute but enough to be noticed and more than enough to annoy me. Any ideas on what might have suddenly caused this issue?
Soundcard going bad maybe?
It's a Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS, only a few years old I guess. It's worked flawlessly up until now.
Buy a surround sound system that is actually intended to be used on a 5.1 channel soundcard. End of story.
This is a brand new 5.1 reciever. This setup has worked on two different surround sound systems in the past without failure. The connection is not the problem. Other sounds on my computer play without problem.
