Many of you have probably noticed Draxamus's avatar, how it's been switching between my replacement for rule-breaking avatars and one that depicts the character from Doom dry-humping one of Doom's demons. When I first saw him with the latter avatar, I did as normal: marked it inappropriate and replaced it. I wish that'd been the end of it, but Draxamus seems to have taken it as a great offense. His apparent superiority complex has caused him to continue bringing it back. As he was a prominant member, I didn't want to ban him and hoped he'd be discouraged by a short power struggle. This was not so, and I put him down for four days.
Still unable to accept the rule, he created a new accout and complained about it. All he had to do was ask and Jesse unbanned his first account. To make it worse, he sent out pleas to his friends, asking them to follow his cause to break the rules with his high-and-mighty avatar. It doesn't surprise me at all that many of them went along with it.
I knew that this is a matter some other mods would disagree with me on, so I decided to bring it up before taking further action. My arguement is this: if all this hulabaloo were over some newb, any mod would be doing the same as I am. Just because Draxamus is a well-established member does not give him special privilages over the same rules that apply to newbs. Unless decided otherwise by this poll, I will continue to do delete the avatar whenever I see it and all other mods should as well. I encourage everyone to see my point in this, in which case we would put up an announcement that denounces the Dry-Hump Avatar, declaring that further use will result in stricter punishment than before.
I really don't see a problem with it. There have been far worse things said and shown that weren't touched. It just seems like you made the problem 100x worse by bothering him about it. He rarely posts, anyway. If you would have let him have it, it probably would have gone unnoticed to most of us. Instead, you just brought more attention to it, and exposed something you're trying to censor... to more people. Just leave him alone, and he'll probably go back to posting as little as before.

Oh come on, Iris's sex stories are even worse because there's an actual clear discription of it, and there were more "sexual" and "violent" things that were clearly unsuitable for "children" but no one made it a big deal. If you ban people for two sprites with actions that imply sex, then ban people that have any sexual reference all together, that includes the sex thread in the Off-Topic, and all posts that have anything to do with "orgasm", "orgy", "vagina", "penis"--you get the idea.
Linko, there are far worse things going around the forums. Discussions are in action that can easily be considered more mature and inappropriate than that avatar. We have mods posting porn and profanity that usually goes without any punishment at all. Why don't you go address these issues in the thread that was already made on the subject?
Iris's sex stories were posted under Jesse's Wacko Blog. I declared many times during it's reign that because Jesse threw hissy fits when we deleted its content, it was up to him to decide when to draw the line. Other than that, I have no memory of any "far worse things" that I haven't taken the same standpoint on.
On the subject of when a sexual implimation should be deleted and when it shouldn't, I believe that it should be fine when it exists for a purpose. I'd let it go if it were, for a current example, in the Sex thread under Off-Topic in which members discuss when it is proper to lose virginity. Drax's avatar, on the otherhand, was just an avatar and had no place here. Considering what has ensued, I don't think I can be blamed.
You're right in saying that I haven't made much action on profanity. I follow the guidelines of American television, allowing the same words they would allow. I never waver in my censoring of avatars and signatures with profanity, but in regular posts, I usually let it go because just one post isn't quite as big a deal as something that will be seen in every post, and I did not want to spawn a fight like the one I'm currently facing.

This is a great defect in the blogs. If all members who visit it, even the moderators, don't bother following forum rules, then there is nothing that can be done to stop them.

The internet is not anarchy, as people own webspace and do as they please with it. No offence to Linko as a human being, but I think he and the rest of VGC would be better off were he demodded. I think he did a much better job as a regular mod.
I have nothing against Linko either, but I also think it'd be best to demod him, and hey, while we're at it, why not remove G-Sides from the list as well?

But, we have a crazy admin that unbans people who break the rules he's actually in favor of, and supermods here (including me) have different standards regarding what should and should not be allowed. So, with that sense, I'll go by my own opinion... and I say leave Drax alone. I don't think two sprites humping is anything we should worry about, even if kids happen to see it. Linko, you said something about how American TV is censored, and from my own experience, they over censor WAY TOO MUCH. It's basically the FCC pleasing every little complaint they get for something parents saw on TV, so you get stupid censors that only mute the "hole" portion of "donkeyhole," which is totally ridiculous. Personally, I don't think you should follow their format for censoring stuff.
