I don't want this post in that ****-spam thread that no one looks at anyway.
In any case, I bring you proof of the existence of Sea Salt Ice Cream. Enjoy.

Also, you can only get this treat in Disney World Japan.
And as advertised, here's the recipe:
SEA SALT ICE CREAM

2 cups of milk
1/3 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1 cup of heavy whipping cream
Sea Salt to taste (about 1 tsp.)
and Blue food coloring, about 2 drops
1. Separate the eggs into two good sized bowls
2. Beat the egg whites until stiff
3. Mix the egg yolks and sugar until thick
4. Slowly bring the milk to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally
5. Pour the hot milk into yolk/sugar mixture and mix well.
6. Pour milk/yolk/sugar mixture back into pot and heat on medium until thicker to make a custard (DO NOT BOIL!!!)
7. Pour custard in with beaten egg whites and mix well
8. Add sea salt (keep adding salt until it tastes salty sweet)
9. Put mixture in fridge to cool
10. once cool, add cream, vanilla and coloring to mixture
11. Freeze, following your ice cream maker’s instructions

I'll consider trying to get the ingrediants, but I've heard that a 3 oz. bottle of Sea Salt can cost up to twenty dollars and I haven't really heard of too many places stocking it.

Try florida. Or ebay. They might have it on ebay.
That would be so awesome to try.
I wonder... what it would taste like if the sea salt was replaced with regular salt... probably not as good.
Thats awesome! I knew it existed, but I could'nt find the recipe.Thanx:)
Hey everyone! I'm going to make them this week :)
I'll tell you how it goes :) (although my sea salt isn't the highest quality, it is still sea salt none the less)
If you are looking for some low priced (well at least it isn't super high priced) sea salt, you might want to check out a local Costco (if there is one near you) Occasionally they will stock up on "Kirkland Signature Sea Salt" It comes in a salt grinder type container :)
Anyways, I can't wait to try it :)

Okay sorry aobut the double post here, but I just wanted to tell you how it all turned out.
The ice cream is pretty good actually! :) I was suprised that such a simple recipie took so long to prepare though!
The best way to describe what it tastes like, (according to this recipie) Is kind of like a Vanilla ice cream with a nice salty twinge in it :)
I do have to warn you though, if you make it fresh like I did, the smell when it is first made might get to you and make your taste buds think they are tasting eggs :D hahahaha (you can really smell the eggs for the first while)
I hope I could help! :) Some of you should try it sometime, I love it and so do the neighbors :)
(but then again I favor very many Japanese desserts that some other people don't) ;)
