What an album!
Wow. I can't even begin to describe the coolness of this concept album from this dutch duo. Think back to the days of Eric B. and Rakim, and fast forward it a decade and a half, add some jazz, soul, classical, influences, amazing lyricism, and a great concept, and you have this album.
Each track describes a specific mindset, and the instrumental fits in with that mindset/ album beautifully. Perquisite I believe was a great cello player wen he was a kid, so the influences in the instrumentals are great. They sound like they're from over here, yet they're not. It's interesting to me how more and more true hip hop is coming out of other countries than the one that started it.
Check the tracks: "Hope" , "Paranoid", and "Grateful" for a start.
I HIGHLY reccommend this to anyone, fan of rap or not. I'm not one to usually buy albums, but support them and get this great album.
