An interesting situation

Posted by TheSecondComing

So basically my hard drive climbed the Stairway to Heaven and I lost everything. I'll admit that I cussed a fair bit at first, but I might as well use it as an opportunity to renew my music collection.

Any recommendations for my upcoming SoulSeek splurge? Have you ever been in the same situation? Discush.

Yes, I have. I lost my entire collection of music, which my hard drive was devoted to only; it had nothing but music on it (spare a few good, handy application installs that I didn't wish to re-download all the time). In fact, the hard drive is still sitting in my closet, waiting for me to get another computer that I may use merely for "test" purposes. I plan to put it in and attempt to resurrect my hard drive; it's ten years old and has been faithful the entire time but I'm hoping it'll give me one last spin. I feel your pain.

If you haven't heard Wall Of Shame by Course Of Nature, you may wish to download that song and give it a listen. Otherwise, I'd have to look through my music hard drive and see what I have these days, before I can recommend things.

...so why aren't I getting my Nintendo DS? Huh? Huh?

Posted by Raptor

No... I ritually back all my recently obtained mp3 files onto CD-R's, and transfer them to my desktop at home. I have just 2 or 3 short of a hundred 700 MB CD-R's full of mp3 albums, so it's not without some effort. I'm also very anal about how they're categorised. I feel it's worth it, though.

Try some Cr

It happened again?

omg, the Cruxshadows are stoners, and...

Since you won't listen to me anyway, I won't recommend anytying. However, the song Stairway to Heaven certainly wouldn't make a bad start, would it?

Man oh man was I ****ed when my computer crashed and I had to do a factory restore. I'm in the habit of burning tons of audio CD-Rs as backups and lately have been making many 700MB CD-Rs filled with Mp3s since my comp is limited to pretty much 4 free gigs right now.

Recommendddd... Minor Threat - "Guilty of Being White"

I love my iPod with PodUtil. :)

Hopefully, my computer never crashes anyway...

I was listening to that way before you were, and I think I've already uploaded it to my new hard drive as part of a LZ best of. The solo's overrated but otherwise it's enjoyable.

Any way that you can stick it in your current comp? I had my old comp hard drive stuck in as the "E:/" drive, with my main one as the C:/ drive, so I could rip all my old applications and MP3s out of it. Now its main use is for storing my OCremix torrent mass downloads

Go on an Ayreon, Ensiferum and Sonata Arctica binge. I thoroughly recommend the albums The Human Equation, Iron and Winterheart's Guild respectively.

Needless to say, recommending virtually any metal is futile.

Especially if I've already whored it out.

I'll give Ensiferum a shot but I doubt I'll like it.

tsc, could you connect to me (i leave myself on all the time, which is why i wasn't there)? sometimes i have trouble connecting to people; i might need to upgrade to the latest version.

You may well like the song Lai Lai Hei.

If you don't, then have you heard anything by Mullmuzzler?

Should we tell him that it contains his least favourite member of Dream Theater yet?

I don't have a favourite member. They all clean penis with their molars equally.

Seriously. If even I don't have any Mullmuzzler/James LaBrie Band songs, then why would TSC?

I got a boot virus once. I didn't really have any music on my computer. But, I did lose about 20 GIGs of porn. I cried for a week.

holy balls, I know the bassist from Course of Nature. He's from my hometown and worked at Metro Music.

I didn't realize they were so. . . international

Probably my favorite Zeppelin song, after hearing it so many times: Trampled Underfoot. Such an awesome song...

Well, that seals it. They have indie cred.

Searching SoulSeek now, But I promise I'll buy if I like it.

Tell him that, BJ. Tell him that.

they have a really nice house in Enterprise. I played soccer in Enterprise, and probably kicked his *** at one point in time.

Well, I could but I already have two hard drives installed on my machine, both with an Operating System installed on each respectively (dual booting for specific purposes and such). I don't have any additional space that would accomodate for a hard drive, nor do I have a power cable to connect to it. So it would mean that I would have to disconnect one of my drives and I really don't want to. It isn't really urgent and I plan to get a second computer soon anyway. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

I don't think that many Australians have heard about Course of Nature. I heard about them when one of their tracks featured on Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 and I thought I would give them a listen. I've enjoyed their music ever since. It's good to know that someone else here recognises them, though.

omg, witch for a wife.

What genre are Course of Nature, anyway?

Posted by Bj Blaskowitz

eh. . . rock? Not sure. I wasn't a big fan. . . just supported them because I knew them

Posted by Dexter

I have a Course of Nature CD. I remember it sounding very radio-like and mediocre. My sister seemed to enjoy their sound.

Posted by Bj Blaskowitz

that's because your sister is hot, and she likes attractive things, and she could smell my influence on the band through their sound.

she wants me, you know
