*Both have strong animal characteristics
a few differences
*Furries possess many more of humanity's finer traits, and are often guided by love, compassion, or a sense of duty to maintain the common good; weres are totally immoral and are guided by pure primal instinct, not rationale, and do things humans consider "evil."
*Furries could hypothetically be accepted into a more enlightened human society as equal beings in the future; weres, never.
*Weres routinely shapeshift, and most often are the product of shapeshifting.
*Weres are often much larger, stronger, and more powerful. Physically and mentally, they are built to kill quickly and efficiently. Tearing an unarmed human's head off barely requires effort and leads to intense animal gratification.
*Furries typically have plantigrade legs, similar to humans, while most were species have digitigrade legs.
