If he's involved in the direction in any way, it's going to be so amazing.
Yeah, just the fact that Kojima's actually involved, I have at least some hope that the movie could actually be good. It helps that the creator actually gives a **** what happens to their property, which is probably the main issue with every other video game movie.
I'm actually not dreading this. If it were any other producer, I'd be worried, but I trust Kojima. If everything goes smoothly it'll be one sweet ride.
I hope it's as good as Street Fighter.
I think a MGS movie would be swell! I am not so sure about the acting choice for snake though. :(
Hugh Jackman would make a good Snake.
david hayter with whatever cosmetic surgery needs to be done to turn him into a Snake look-a-like.
Then you have no business here. Move along, little one.
"Confirmed" doesn't mean it will happen. Trailers mean it will happen, so I am not convinced.
I think a MGS movie would be swell!
Say "swell" one more time. I dare ya.
It would be a great idea to make a Metal Gear Solid Movie. I know Kojima would never mess it up.
I'm also glad that Uwe Boll did not get the part as director, because he would ruin it to hell. I still have to see Bloodrayne too.
Arent the games movie like enough?
I can see it now. A 2 and half hour codec conversation.
No seriously I think its cool.
Probably not since video game movies typically have very little to due with the game, besides characters and main themes.
Why are they making a MGS movie. There are already lots of MGS movies, they just aren't live action. In fact you could very well sit for several hours and just watch MGS movies, barely even play a game. That's because MGS is worse then FF when it comes to boreing the shiite out of you with movies. So my question is this. If I get ****ed when i can't skip the videos in MGS the game, why would I see the movie?
You guys really eat that shiite up don't you?
I'm sorry, but truth be told, you're morons.
All of the MGS games have been a part of a shiity story.
I play MGS because of the tactical espionage, which is fun. Seriously though, what is wrong with yall?
Lets face it guys, we don't play MGS for the story.
I relatively loved the story to Metal Gear Solid 3. I still need to pick up Metal Gear Solid 2 and possible number 1.
But please shut up. I would not doubt that if you were in a room with 10 people and they were all asked the same question "Do you like the Metal Gear Solid plot?" and 9/10 people would say yes, wile 1 being you would say no.
and if they did say no, they probably wouldnt like the game at all, since its all about the plot.
I play the game for the action Fogman. It's fun to be stealthy, and to shoot things. I couldn't care less about clones and warheads.
Oh sweet! A MGS movie!
Oh wait, it goes along with the 19 other game movies that were announced and have gone nowhere.
The Metal Gear series has one the best-constructed stories out there in video games, or even in the sci-fi world. Hell, it's an intellectual work of art.
Also, Bebop, a lot of the Codec convos are composed of history lessons, objectives, and personal relations between characters, all of which are not necessary to display the main story but do add to the game. Even with long conversations, I'd still watch it.
Let's think about it this way. Metal Gear Solid without a story (or plot persay) would be a cheesey story about a half-naked middle-aged man in pajamas, running around military bases and eating animals. Sounds like a hit!
Well I like the MGS story.....what I could understand of it..err..a..
Well anywayz I actually sent in some mug shots into Konami's movie department and They sent me a funny email back saying, although I bear a resimulance to The middle aged Snake, they are looking for a more picture pretty youth, to portray a very young snake...what's that mean?
All I get from it, is They want a underwear model or somthing. anyways if any of you want to look at one of the pics heres the link-
http://www.mypixshare.com/images/283/343/00000009.jpg
I sugest you all look* at least for a laugh-
OH, and guess that the movie may suck, considering a young snake would probably be unexperienced at war or tactical espionage.
Then again I sent the pics to them just just for fun, hell I even painted the everything on! not, that I couldnt actually grow the beard, by the suit and get the cigertte, but hell, It's a good good for somthing I did in just under a minute.
LOL* they must have died laughing.
You look about twelve, and the badly-photoshopped beard in lieu of your inability to grow actual stubble is just plain sad.
The following isn't actually any kind of attempt to remind people of ****ty internet jokes; I'm being perfectly serious: Chuck Norris would be a decent actor for Snake. Seriously, all he has to do is get a bit of a trim and thin out his beard a little.
He would, but the Metal Gear Solid Snake is in his early twenties and clean shaven.
Anti-aging CGI, then. Worked for Patrick Stewart and [guy who plays Magneto] in X-Men 3.
Well, actually I am an graphic artists, so I actually could make a realistic beard, but hell, Iam just to lazy (an hour and a half I could spend on Dragon quest). But to tell you the truth I actually did that for fun,
I actually grow a perfectly thick beard, but problem is, It leaves me with these weird acme like, bumps? So I basically Wax...Um, I mean shave (HEH?) and anyways what do you expect I'm half-germen, Half-japaness, Small and hairless is in my blood...oddly enough I turned out tall, hairy and with an abnormaly small head? That's why I have long hair, that Usually let hang over my face and down below my nose.
anywayz, did anyone check out this months issue of EGM? I'm in it. well my letter anyways. Check page 14 of EGM issue 205 my letter is on the top left (above the pic of paris hilton). I'm sending in another to night.

P.S let me ask you a question Karth, In Metal Gear solid 4, do you think that Snake might have to choose sides in somekinda situation inwhich Meril and Foxhound V.s Raidan and his faction? it just seems that all this talk about SIde A and side B and the return of meril and the older characters PLUS this new twist in Raidans Character design just spells trouble.
OH! and in the particular pic (that doesnt do me justice) I will agree I look pretty young? BUT I wouldnt go so far to say 12....I'd say maybe 15.
Heugh Jackman, Now thats a guy who should play the part of snake!
and honestly Anthony quad would be a great Solidious.
ANd that blond british, Villain guy from that old 80's horror movie "Morlock"
should play liquid.
*** I whish I looked & talked like liquid, **** would I have the chicks then! The only thing to do then would be to get a tan?~

Hmm, My question to you is, What makes you SO sure I am using a pirated photoshop?
As you may not know I DO work at a local graphic studio ("Zack's Studio PLUS"). Secondly It is easy to call a 19 year old, kiddo when no one Really knows YOU'RE age. judging by you're Practical use of Net lingo and offensive verbal skills, I would put you in two age categories. A: between the ages of 23-31, B: 12-16. Now judging by you're anime Avitar and obviously Anti-american Pas'uade, I would have to say you're probably 16 or 24 . You're probably a 10-30'000 dollar yearly wage Range, and have a poor or at best failing boarder line family issue. Sadly you pass judgment and don't take advise very well, so I'd say you are probably single and even more so You possibly believe you have a high I.Q & View at a lot of porno aswell as visit alot of sites like fanfiction and fictionpress. I understand you probably have some writing and drawing skills (those which you are proud of) and you even subscribe to Playstation magazine or EGM (I'm guessing there). I'd guess you are male (but you're use of kiddo strongly implies you are a femal). You're are also possably bi-polar and manic depressant. I even scense a hint of ADD or ADHD. You are a very insecure person whom lies to even him/her self by telling him self he IS gifted and even smarter than the stupid people whom rejected him. Klarth High school is over, and you're life aint getting any better~ ...get over it.;)
What is you're catch Klarth? you're sudden name change?
Don't hate ME Klarth, I extended a hand of friendship to you, but you being angry at the world and therego me, bit it RIGHT. The worlds full of players and haters which are U?

You know, I'm getting sick of you people dismissing metal gear solid 2's story line. There IS a story there, Regardless of how arbitrary it may be the IS a story. The cut-scenes where rather long, the Radian Prologue that they seemed to try to spread across the plot was obscure and the constant fighting was just an elusive chance to cover the confusing fact that most gamers hadn’t the slightest clue as to what was actually going on, BUT there was a story. The Reason (Radian's past & even future) was so distorted, was a purposeful act by KONAMI, for reason's unknown. It is speculated that Radian is to be an advocate for an opposing force, and contrary to what many say it is believed that Meryl & foxhound are opposing radian and a faction of the US government. Part of what constitutes MGS:2's backdrop would have to be the continuous and mysterious, Snake. If you may recall he was up to many secretive things in MGS:2, most of the time are the user controlled Radian the ware-about of snake was far from known. Metal Gear Solid 2: sons of liberty, held very much a story, problem was, it was far to massive and broken for the casual gamer to understand, such is the way of Hideo Kojima, his intelligence CAN become a problem at times~
As For candidates for Metal Gear Solid Movie: I would have to have to say that the best possible Hollywood actor for the job would have to be without a doubt- would have to be MATT LEINART (Don't know how he is? Look him up.),
My second and far less likely choices would have to be U2 Singer BONO, and Canadian Model Gabriel Aubry.
As to what Klarth said at one time about Chuck Norris being appropriate for the role of Solid Snake, is say; "Get Real!" Chuck Norris is far to old, he is very short, his skin is far to tan, he is freckled, He has Facial Wrinkles, at his age the Physique he would need for this roll would be all most impossible for him to attain, His voice, although fairly deep, is not gruff enough, His eyes are blue, snakes are brown, Chuck Norris’s Hair is Red, snakes is brown, Chuck Norris has (As he has aged) lost a lot of weight and looks under-weight, and more importantly, Chuck does have a far TOO developed upper-body, Snake is very tone, and chest and upper arm bulge would not only effect his representation of the character, but the way Snakes slim, skin tight stealth suit looks and fits on him. Klarth you're answers are far to premature almost juvenile (Thousands of retards everywhere are calling you there B-itch).
Isn’t it strange how things work out.....Eddie? Now you're sounding like a sixteen year old chubby, kid with long girly hair . Please Don't make me think that of you, or do you like it when people whip you? Remind you of the old Highschool locker room huh?

I agree. My grammer was rather poor, but then again when you're posting within a forum enviroment with people whom watch too much anime or spend there friday's alone, you don't worry about grammer. I guess I'll just have to watch it. Secondly, Be-friend me? If I wanted afreak loser who has obviously by you're post count and rating, spends far to much time complaining online, then I'd ask. As for the rest of you, I honestly dont give a ****, I'm through being nice. Infact heres the deal, If I cant have the MOST positive FEEDBACK, then I want the most NEGATIVE. Hell, I'll be famous on here, They might even give me a large collumn of Red squares in my Memberslist Ratings. Get a life people, I only play these things few times a week, I actually LIKE physical activity & fresh air. Buy some Neutragena clean and clear, steal a tread-Mill and show you're skin some sunlight. You all just hate you couldnt be popular and you hated the rumors, TO BAD, they where probably all true.
Remember even the nicest people have a BAD side now you sons of a *****es found mine.
If you're going to stay on this site, talk about GAMES for a change instead of picking on people whom don't fit you're criteria.
As they say "Those whom have been Judged are most likely to be the ones to judge."

On the contrary, we're all proficient in grammar for the sole purpose of being able to communicate well without a) looking like utter prats or b) being totally indecipherable. Also, point of interest: "Whom" can only be used in the accusative, and by attempting to look pretentious by employing it where "who" belongs, you're showing off just how thick you are. As for "people who watch too much anime", aren't you the one boasting about those ultra-cool anime magazines you're subscribed to? Hmmmmmmm.

Hah. I'm not the artistically-null prat calling myself a graphic designer, and I'm regardless somewhat confident about who possesses the greater technical skill.

Whoa, that's original. And I'm positive it's just a coincidence that every new member who gets a raped reputation immediately wants the lowest rep on VGC! Reverse psychology doesn't quite work that way, you dim little tool.

See, I don't get where these radically unfounded assumptions come from. For all we know, you could be a balding, obese 38-year-old man living in his mother's basement - 'cept you've already shown off a photo of yourself, so we know you're fourteen at most. :)

You can't be serious, you basically picked 3 people who are not even actors. Bono is to **** old and does not look anything like that of snake or whatever. Matt Leinart has no experience whatsoever. And I could care less for some model who probably has never acted in his life.

Sean is a ****er. Are you insane, Ultima Enigma? ***.
But, besides the response that I wanted to post to simply be predictable, Ultima Enigma clearly is fourteen year old--his grammar, pseudo-intellect, and, most glaring of all, LIES point toward this conclusion. Furthermore, his choices are awful, being that not all actors should be chosen off of looks, but experience as well. At least Chuck Norris HAS acted before, whilst Bono... well, he can stick to U2.
Needs more Kurt Russell, less Solid Snaking.
Everything needs more Solid Snake. Get your facts straight. Use google if need be.

I know I should know this by now, but. "What is a Yautja?"
I think he would make a great Snake. I had a hard time trying to fit Snake on someone, but I think he can do it.
It needs to be done in CGI like Advent Children, so that way they can Snake actually look like Snake and David Hayter could still do the voice.
That wouldn't work after all because the game is already made on a computer (with computer figures) and the game plays like a movie. Because of the close ties, the movie has to be displayed on a different medium, therefore Russell Crowe must be called to kick some ***.
That wouldn't work after all because the game is already made on a computer
What point does that make? I'm sure Final Fantasy was made on a computer and it got the CGI treatment. So what if MGS is played like a movie? I just don't think MGS would be a good live action film. I mean....look at Bloodrayne. How hard is it to make a Bloodrayne movie? Not terribly hard, but they were able to botch that up bad. Her costume alone made me want to stab my throat repeatedly with a unsharpened penicl.
I just think that if they did a MGS movie in CGI they would have a lot more control over how the characters move and look like, plus they could nab the original voice actors.
Say, has there actually been anymore news on this? I mean, is it with the list of dead videogame-movie projects?
