Jesse Smith, your so naughty.
Posted by NES QueenFred Savage was so dreamy...
The idea of the movie is awesome, makes me wish there were still NES competitions around today.
Posted by inequityNice. I've always wanted to see this but the VHS isn't easy to come by.

My library has it! I get it often. It is such a cool movie! Wouldn't it be great if there was a sequal with the nitnendo wii?
Posted by inequityNo, it wouldn't.
Posted by DexterThe film is actually a decent family film and the back theme is definitely to my interests. I have an enjoyable time watching this film and introducing people to it. I have the VHS, but I'll certainly like to get this DVD. I like how Nintendo (particularly the Turtles game) bonds the father and son closer together.
Posted by ZetaIs Super Mario Bros. on DVD yet?
Posted by Jesse SmithIt's been on DVD for years. It's not even close to as good as Da Wizard.
Posted by Vampiro V. EmpireMost of you must be remembering a film clouded by nostalgia... there's no way anyone could think it's anywhere near decent.
Posted by Jesse SmithIt stinks compaired to The Wizard. *Starts watching The Wizard on my iMac.* :D
Posted by ZetaAre you kidding? Super Mario Bros. was the best. Movie. Ever.
Posted by Vampiro V. EmpireI must agree. It was so retarded and so completely different than the actual game that it surpassed terribleness and went straight to awesome.
Posted by ZetaThat's exactly how I view it.
Oh, wai- Sarcasm?
Posted by Vampiro V. EmpireDead serious. ****ing grim.
Posted by ZEN"The Wizard" was a great movie if you were 9 years old back in 1990.
I guess some of us just like it because it was the first time the video games we were playing at the time became the spotlight of a film (or maybe it was all the sugar).
I still get a kick out of some of the lines from that movie-
"He's on his second time through Ninja Gaiden and hasn't even been hit yet."
For the record, that's the equivalent of saying, "He just walked on water."
I don't seriously expect anyone to think that "The Wizard" was an Oscar-winning caliber film (I mean - it was obviously no "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure"). It was just a movie that takes us back to a time when we weren't in as much pain and suffering and credit card debt that we are now.
Posted by andrewgi loved this movie, i would like to get it for DVD.
Posted by BonerThat movie inspired me to buy a Power Glove. The Power Glove made me want to punch holes in the wall for wasting my money on such garbage. Worst controller ever.
Posted by andrewgI really want to buy a power glove actually.

plus, back then video games in general were all still pretty new. so an actual movie about them was "far out!" nowadays, games themselves are sort of epic movies so its nothing too new or different.
Posted by PWND_U_IN_MKNow I'll be able to Dl it :)

If you are buying to add to your collection; Cool. If you are buying to actually put to use; Good luck. It was a neat idea, but not all that great to use. Even though the movie made it look ubertastic.

It can't be that bad. Now the N64 powerglove, that was a piece of shiite.

i snagged myself a power glove off ebay, had no idea how to use the stupid thing so i ended up giving it to a friend when he was in the hospital to freak out the nurses with. we cut the power cord off and he just wore it like a regular glove.

I thought it came out in 1989? I remember thinking it was a great film to end the 80s with.
Posted by Crazy KI never thought to much of it. I have not seen it for some time now, if I get Netflix ill definitely rent it. But the last time I watched it was possibly when I was 12 or 13, and I only watched parts of it.
Posted by DexterIt's just s nifty film about family bonding. I like how Nintendo brings them together and the game footage is fun and especially the Nintendo headquarters. I remember always joking around about those guys when I was younger. We used to call them, but it was expensive. :(

Posted by ZENWell I saw it in 1990. At least I saw the movie about a week before 'Super Mario Bros. 3' was released.

Just a guy from other NES message boards who pics of himself in various poses with the Power Glove. I (being the "basterd" that I am) manipulated the pics in an almost demeaning yet slightly empowering way.
Like this...

There. This thread oficially rules now.
(And that reminds me of yet another "questionable box art" nominee.)
[quote=Queeny]*when's your puter gonna be fixed?*
It is fixed. I just need that "Windows" thing installed so I can use Nestopia and other emulators (and also play flash games again).
