It makes complete sense. A non-gamer has to go from nothing to learning how to use the Wiimote. A gamer has to forget what s/he's known for the past 20 years and relearn a completely new way to play games.
It's like a baby who's first language is french, compared to someone who's been speaking english for their whole life and now wants to pick it up.
