I'm not talking about MSN's MySpace but the real deal. Believe me or not but your personal information can be taken. Identity thieves have invaded MySpace. I saw it on the news. According to the news report, they said remove photos, schedules, resumes, etc. And may I remind you, I'm doing this for those who CARE about their identity and those who don't know about the news report. If cared, you'll take me serious.
I hope nobody steals my low-res jpegs from two years ago, or my photographs of the zoo trip.
:o
Oh man, I have my name on there. Better run.
Just sounds like some scaremonger to me. Any dunce who puts anything on their myspace that they wouldn't otherwise disclose has kinda asked for it. I'm not about to post my social security number on their or something. :/
o shit this sucks. i either got hacked or forgot my password because i can't log in my old account that still has my picture on it :grrr:
The news sensationalizes everything. Half a year ago the big thing was people buying your house using stolen identity without you ever realising what happened. Who cares.
Dateline 20/20 officially called MySpace "A sexual predator's dream."
btw guys im a 14 year old girl i get out of school at 3:15 and then i'm going to the taco bell at 412 Main Street for exactly 27 minutes lol hope i c someone there k well bye guyz ^^;
I've put more personally information about myself up publically on the internet than most of my real life friends know about me. You know what the worst that ever happened was? Hyper called me and said "Seven days".
My dad got all bent out of shape because The Judge and Ant posted comments with foul language. He said if it happened again he would delete my profile. :( People are paranoid.
Tell your dad that you HAVE deleted your space. He won't check on it in future :cookie:
MySpace has the 6'th highest traffic of any site in the world... thats scary.
It's not at all surprising, though. I go into the computer lab at school and about 75% of the people are usually browsing myspace. I go to VGC and people look over at me and lol because of LoS's avatar and ask why I'm not on mysace.
Myspace is blocked at my school. As is vgc, xanga, and others. It annoys me to no end, because I'm trying to get my friend Katherine (Kat) to register here, and she can't unless it's at school. So no Kat until I can get her over to my house.

If you're dealing with Surf Control, Sean's site is blocked too. Try ww6.vtunnel.com (that's not a mispelling).
Or, you could be cool and use a japanese translator. :cookie:
My school got wise to that within a week. We can't go to translator sites anymore, nor can we use search terms that include the word translator.
My school defines internazi.

"Educational use only! This site no make web surfing anonymous!"
Heh, I really doubt they've blocked every translator site... you should tell them that they're hindering your learning by walling an important educational resource. If they go on about site blocking problems, then that just proves that the school is ruled by paranoia, a very useful piece of information if you're a student.
Getting around blockers to get to myspace seems to be the sport of many of the students at my school. There are so many ways to get around internet blockers, it's a little scary... a new one I discovered is a kid using a cousins computer remotely through some software on his flashdrive. It was completely anonymous on his side, too- I can imagine what would happen if he started viewing some porn, and his parents later used the computer:
"Jimmy! What in the WORLD were you looking at!"
"It was Kieth, mom! He looking at porn on my computer!"
"Don't try to fool me, Kieth live's 400 miles away!"
"No mom, it was Kieth! I swear!"
No, see what they do is block the word translator, so anywhere that even has the word in the site name is blocked. They did the same thing with a lot of various words (ex: proxy, sexual words, etc.). They even went so far as to block use of the command prompt from all computers as well as using IP addresses to gain access to sites, can't do that either.
I have a question though, what is a "staolin"? I mispelled Stalin when I looking for information about him for my Sociology class and "staolin" came up blocked.
Use Firefox from a flash drive, title it "notepad". It has yet to fail.
Oh, there's no such thing as a "staolin", other than the member on vgchat. Hmm...
EDIT: Would http://www.excite.co.jp/world/english/web/ be blocked? It doesn't actually use the word "translator" anywhere on the page.
Ha! Thanks guys I'll be sure to try that tomorrow. yes! Now I can show Kat VGC. She knows all about the site because I tell her all the goings ons. It's funny. So yeah, I'll be able to show her now! Now I can totally die happy in a long while.
VGCs blocked on my school computers, as well as every proxy I know of.
Fortunately, I found a way to get to still. Google searched 'VGChat Zeta' and one of the first things that came up was an archive, and I'm able to get to VGC through that.
I tried that. I even tried searching through images. It totally blocked all of it. Then I found another way through to the site through world-of-nintendo.com, and that way was blocked too. But now it won't be. *Devil-ish grin*
Just sex up the technician. I'm sure s/he'll be glad to unblock it for you then.
Haha. No way, he's too old, and too ugly. He'd probably have a heart attack or something.
Even better. Then you can just get on his computer and do it yourself.
Good point. But still, no way. That guy actually scares me. I won't go anywhere near him. Or the others that are back there.
Good idea! If that website doesn't work, that's what I'll do. I know someone who would probably be thrilled to do that for me. Unfortunatly she's a whore, and whore's scare me. I'll forget my fear for the sake of VGC.
I can't search through images except for on google.jp, most proxy sites are blocked, copy/paste is blocked(but not the shortcuts:)), and command prompt is blocked on the computers at my school. Last year I used the command "edit" in command prompt and it gave me access to all the teachers turn-in boxes, and I could view messages sent from one teacher to another, but as far as I know I couldn't change grades or anything. It was still pretty cool. Then another kid did almost the same thing but went further and got caught. Thus command prompt being blocked.
I remember thinking it was funny because I had no clue what I was doing, I just had a web browser open to a site explaining how to use command prompt and I was trying stuff.
I never understood why www.vgchat.net is not even on Surf Control's list. A little insulting, really.
Oh man... I would have liked to have seen the calamity that may have ensued.
Something like that happened in out school before, and some people went as far as calling it hacking. Heh heh.
My friend Mark is a master hacker, or so he says. I'm sure there are lot's of people who are way better than him. Probably some of you included.
From my experience, most people who claim to be 'master hackers' aren't really ... ahem - I remember one time where someone told me they were, yet they had no idea what Windows XP was. They believed Dell was the operating system.
Anyways, as far as MySpace goes - most of the people there are spiraling in a whole of listlessness and Dis. Though I don't blog, I've always been more found of Blogger.com more or LiveJournal. It's not so much the technical aspects :o but the people in general.
Those "master hackers" are just using PHP or HTML redirects. No hacking involved.
Red Hot Chili Peppers approves of MySpace. They said it was artistic. Not only did I believe the same thing before they even said it, the fact that they agreed is just amazing.
What's wrong with MySpace?
I'm a master of masturbation. **Beats it**
I get great grades, and never study. I'm just gifted like that. I hardly ever use the school's computers for educational purposes. I usually use them for writing fan-fics. I update a couple stories there.
Thanks for the way around the administration at school. I can get here, I just can't log on. But I might have a way to fix that. I hope I do anyway. I'll try it, and if it works, I'll let you guys know at school in the morning. Thanks agian guys. :D
The only time my peers hear me talk is when I'm a question in class.
When you're a question in class?
Evil one! Well, my idea didn't work. I tried that other site you guys gave me, and I was able to log in. Not everything was there, including the stuff I wanted to post in. Got any others for me? Where I can log in, and everything is there would be great. Thanks.
Oh man, I have my name on there. Better run.

True and that's the same for everything. If you write something down, you can expect the possibilities of someone reading it. If you make something it'll be copied or be observed.
And if you post plans for a mass killing at your school, you'll get caught. So don't do that. Just keep your plans for mass murder your own little secret.
