Something just came to mind I never thought of. Do Wii games use normal sized DVD roms or the smaller gamecube discs? I never saw a picture of a Wii disc and I was wondering. If so, how is it backwards compatible? It has two separate drives?

I saw a video where they ejected a regular size disc out of the system. I'm not sure how the Game Cube disc work with it. I assume it just goes into the same place and fits in it's position properly or something. I don't believe there is a separate drive.

EDIT: Here's the video. The CD is huge like an Xbox! I prefer the smaller ones. They are cuter.

DVDs, though it still accepts smaller GC discs. As for how, I don't know. Last I heard, Nintendo was the first to make such a thing.

Yeah, I recall reading words of praise for Nintendo about how their disc drive accepts normal sizes as well as GameCube discs. I'm sure there's some mechanism that will recognize and grab hold of a GC disc once inserted into the slot, lining it up with the laser.
