I honestly don't mind such a break every now and then; it's interesting to see what names familiar faces change to. Some people dislike being constricted in their current names, and I'm sure they appreciate it even moreso. The only real problems come when it's available for months on end, and so people switch between names like they would underpants - as I used to do this time last year.

But yeah, namechanges closed again for now.

And, no, I didn't see that commercial. Funny, that.

Name changes should always be open, just not talked about as much. Then, people wouldn't get the idea to change unless they had to. That, or limit a user's name change allowed frequency to a long period of time.
