If you yourself don't have one, what do your parents have?
I want to collect cars as sort of something to do on the side. Sports cars mainly.
I own:
Ford Escort ZX2 Sports 2002
Ford Probe GT '96
I plan on putting on a new body to my ZX2 and I want to put in a bigger engine. I want to race my sports cars down the highway. Unfortunately gas is $3 a gallon which sucks.
A small scooter powered by my own sense of self-accomplishment.
That's one overpowered ride, mang.
I have...
A 1999 Firebird, and a 1990 Camaro Iroq Z28(work in progress :) )
1995 Dodge Neon Highline. It's almost like not owning a car.
I don't drive yet, but when I do I will get my dad's car which is a 2002 BMW or something. It's in excellent shape.
A Saturn..... something......
One of those all too common ones.
And it's black.
1995 ford explorer
2000 Kia Sephia. :(
I guess I should have said "Vehicle" instead of car :-\
Nothing. I used to have a lifted '89 Dodge Dakota 4x4, but I gave it to my parents when I rarely used it anymore. I live with my bro so I just borrow his car whenever I need to go somewhere.
My parents also have some sort of $40,000 Ford custom van. I forget what it's called.
Heh, my friend has a Ford Probe, those things are... interesting. The Escort ZX2 is one of Ford's most reliable small cars, good deal.
My next car will be a Civic or Corolla, most likely.
Nothing special, just a 1999 Ford Contour
I have a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500, with a 5.2 liter v8. On a good day, I get double digit gas mileage. On a side note, I have a rather nice bicycle that gets a LOT of use.
My old car was a 1992 Buick Century Custom, which died this time last year. My current car is a 2004 Hyundai Elantra, which I'm trying to modzorfy. I'm looking into getting a 1980's Porsche 911 of some sort as my next car (yay).
edit: not 1990's, 80's prease.
Just keep in mind that Porches will not only cost an arm and a leg to repair, but will also come with killer insurance premiums. Its like that with pretty much any sports car.:(
Hey, you want a nice little sports car, get a Miata. :D
I think an old Porsche would be cool though if you have the money and desire.
It's maybe going to happen in a year or two. Maybe. And I'll be loooking at fairly frequent clutch replacement with said car. But, I think it'll be worth the extra effort. :)
Zoom zoom zoom.
I personally am one for the 3.2 litre Carrera. I'd like one like this but white with the black Porsche wheels. It'd be more than zoom-zoom-zoom. It'd be EAT THIS YOU CIVIC BASTARD!
Dude, aim higher than that. I drive a truck and I already beat civics.
And if you drive reasonably and dont try to dorifutoooo like Taka, your clutch should be fine. Just make sure you change your oil, drive responsibly, blah blah blah.
As for Jon... you can go die.:( I jsut found out recently that even if i get my moms Miata for free (which would be likely if she gets a new car) I would basically have to work two jobs to cover the insurance, despite it cutting my gas costs in a third.
Well, I know for a fact I couldn't out-stomp a WRX, but maybe I can kill a few Lancer Evo's and **** like that. A 911 3.2 SC in good shape can do 0-60 in 5.6 seconds.
Dont aim for evos.:( They only vary from STi's by a tenth or so.:(
Naw, what you want to be shooting for is all the "hot hatches" that are running around. The Civic Si, the Cobalt SS, the SRT4, and othe similar cars are going to be your best bet for good fights.
Just keep in mind that if you want to really get the most out of your 0-60 times, then you WILL be destroying your clutch, which will set you back several THOUSAND per rebuild.:(
Well yeah, any sports car is going to be insurance from hell.
And about the dying comment - I'm working on it. Give me a few more years, maybe 80.
I don't think it's worth possibly damaging my car just to show up some wannabe wanksta with his turbocharged 4banger.
Thats what I was saying. Maybe if you had a ncie track rented out and could actually blast some hot laps, then it might be worth it. Bot not jsut to serve ricers.
No. I mean, the only thing I'll be doing with it is taking it to the track. It won't be seeing many miles. And the clutches on the 911, thankfully, are actually pretty durable.
Oh, okay, its not your daily driver then?
Hell, if you arent going to take it on public roads, you might not even need insurance on it. I'm not sure, but you might want to check that out, since it could save you assloads of cash.
She'll (she, right?) still need insurance to actually drive the car to the track, unless she towes it.
You don't want to be caught by a cop driving a car without insurance. Than again, maybe some of you do, you crazy bastards.
I was thinking that he could jsut drive it to the track without it (since chances are you wont get pulled over anyway), or if you're not as risk taking, just tow it.
If you REALLY want it to be a balls out track racer, though, you might want to strip the interior (but dont throw anything away in case you end up wanting to sell the car) and throw in a roll cage. This would also make it lighter and easier to tow.
I own a 2003 Nissan Xterra....it's yellow, too. Anyways, gas is a pain in the *** to pay for but my brother is adding some stuff to it to increase the gas mileage. It gets 18 miles on the street and 21 on the freeway.
I wonder why I thought he was female. Must be the avatar.
To be honest, I'm not even 100% sure. There arent many people who are, and the ones who are sure arent talking.
That being said, I still think of him as... well, a him.
Let's just say he's both.
If you're referring to me, I'm a guy. I just don't post in off-topic much, I usually lurk around the gaming boards.
A classic Porsche I dare not strip. It's like the holy grail of cars to me (even though, if I could afford one, I'd so have a 911 GT3. Even though it's not a turbo, it still is good for 415bhp, and it can rev to 8,400 rpm. The cound is glorious (I've heard it with my own two ears) and the car is supposed to be good for nearly 200mph. Teh fun.
Back on topic, as long as I tow it, I can just say "no" to auto insurance. And, believe it or not, I could probably tow it with the Elantra, which is good for 3,100lbs max tow weight. Yays.
My dad got this little brown Nissan Sentra from one of my grandma's friends, and that's what I'm driving until I get my actual liscense. My sister has a '97-ish red Honda Civic, and my mom has a '98-ish Honda Passport, which sucks, because someone tore the freaking gas 'pedal' off. The bar under the pedal is there, but it's hard as hell to use, especially when your shoes are wet.
I have a badical Green 1996 Toyota Paseo. It's in awesome shape.

Uh, the 2006 911 GT3 certainly does. C'mon, LoS, can'tcha read?
I drive a 1999 dodge caravan, great condition , but lots of miles on it. Tempary car.
I'm in part owner ship of a customizing business. I have a 89 chevy s10 tahoo which the rear is lifted and 2 huge tips with custom tail lights and a led screen like when you goto a store and see who has won what in a lottery in the roll-pan so I can tell people to f*ck off lol.(it's not legal) a customized ford tempo(which I like I'm the only person in the world stupid enough to slam it put a body kit and a wing on). a bronco 1 which I slammed and 2 which has been raised.that's it.
I drive a 1988 Chevy Beretta (FI V6)... It's a nice car I had for about two years or so...There's about 120,090 miles on it as of right now, and I got it for only like $2,500 so that was nice...I think it had less than 100,000 miles on it then, not sure...
It's pretty good on gas, which is cool and has 'some' kick to it...
It has it's problems though...Nothing major....The RPM's flutter when idling for some reason, and my car has no muffler...haha....
